Great Service Great Wines
beautiful eating experience, with excellent menu, The starters were stunning , I had the Brochette ; My friend, the Scallops , both were mouthwatering , easy access for my wheelchair. The wines were modern and extensive
I absolutely love this place! It used to be one of our regular haunts when we lived in Edinburgh - the kind of place you pop into for an after work drink and then end up staying for dinner and then some more drinks. We visited this week after being away for 3 years and it was just as good as we remembered. A great wine list, fantastic fresh food including an excellent antipasti platter, friendly staff and a lovely ambiance- what more could you want?
Fantastic fresh food, great wine list... A++
It served me two really good dishes, and though they had their faults, they still provided me with a high quality lunch
This place is smaller in size, but absolutely worth it! They're known for their seafood and they delivered on it! I have sea bass gnocchi and it was chefs kiss delicious! They have indoor and outdoor seating. Everyone at our table enjoyed everything that was brought out. Highly recommend!
The seafood here was amazing and matched with a great glass of wine. The place is cozy, so make reservations. The service experience was great with attention to all its guests with detailed information on food and suggestions on matching wine.
An absolutely delightful little eatery. Went in during the rain to catch up with a friend from abroad. The resteraunt was cosy and well kept. The staff were so kind and friendly, and the food was delicious. Portion sizes were great for the price and the wine selection was fantastic.
Our first night in Edinburgh and our hotel suggested here. Short walk they were able to fit us in. The meal was delicious. Our server was very attentive and nothing but a blur.
Great service, atmosphere and a knowledgeable sommelier who had tons of patience to help us choose the wine. The burrata dish was below average. The muscles - in a classic sauce - were delicious.
Despite the server being a bit indifferent, our seafood platter was absolutely fabulous. Calamari fork tender, shrimps, prawns and scallops cooked perfectly. The huge pot of mussels was in a beautiful creamy broth with just the right amount of crusty bread. The waiter said they get fresh mussels delivered direct from the sea every morning. I believe it! Because the outdoor tables are on the sidewalk of hill, beware of all the sauces running downhill into your lap!
A charming and authentic Italian bistro in the heart of the old town, with the wine list displayed proudly in the walls of the restaurant. We had the seafood linguine, the mushroom and truffle ravioli and the spinach risotto. The seafood linguine would rival any coastal Italian restaurant, and it was passed around the table for everyone to enjoy.
Agnes, our waitress, was attentive, and added to the charm of a relaxed evening.
We enjoyed our visit so much we came back for mulled wine the next day…and may have ordered another antipasti board to enjoy with a bottle of their delightful white wines!
Went for a meal on Saturday 14 October 2023. Excellent meal and really good service from the staff. Only gripe we had was that Edinburgh in October is a very cold city and the outside door to the restaurant was left open making it quite cold when eating your meal. No heating that we could see. We were not the only two not happy with the cold atmosphere. One man said he could do with a blanket over his knees. We would certainly go back but it would have to be in warmer weather. Another door blocking out the cold would be ideal.

Quality-price SUPER. They are super quick. The food is really good Italian. The waiter was wonderful. Its perfect to enjoy a nice dinner looking to the the Edinburgh buildings with all the lights.
I had a really, really lovely meal here tonight. I hadn't reserved a table and was eating alone on a work trip but it was no bother for the friendly waiter who seated me at the bar where I had a great view of the excellent chefs at work. The waitress was also kind and friendly and the atmosphere was great - heartwarming to see customers of all nationalities sitting alongside each other merrily chatting away like old friends. The crab & Birra Moretti Shetland mussels were the freshest and most delicious mussels I've ever eaten - I will crave that sauce and I live flippin miles away so I'm going to have to engineer some reason to come back soon! Thanks all, it had been a tough day and you made my tummy and heart happy.
Wow. That's the first word that comes to mind here. I'm a chef and the food was exceptional. The mussels were hot and I mean piping hot but not over cooked. I was so impressed. The service was fantastic and an open kitchen to watch. A perfect date night spot. Or if youre solo like myslef. Truly a wonderful time
Stopped here late on Saturday evening - got sweet table and ordered soups and mussels . We were not super hungry but everything we got was delicious. All of the seafood looked amazing and wine was great
The first time I wanted to go in this place it was so full I went somewhere else. I came back the next day around 5pm and it was about half full so I had an early dinner and a bottle of wine. The food us made practically in front of you, so you have no wonders about what's happening with your order. The waiter was very informative and kind. I had the intention of having just the cheese plate and some wine but the food smelled so tasty I also ordered the risotto and it was very good. Prices here are fair and slightly better than what you'd fund on the royal mile one block away. Certainly check thus place out!
We went for our 10th wedding anniversary, and could not have asked for more.
An excellent menu which was varied without being overly long or complicated ensured that there was something anyone would be happy with. The food was fresh, well balanced, and absolutely delicious. I have been fortunate to have mussels in a few places, and these ones were really up there amongst the best.
Like the menu, the wine list is very well thought out with a good variety of both types and prices.
The small staff on the night of two were busy and hustling all night, but without making us feel rushed. In fact they were friendly, helpful and polite without exception.
It is a slightly smaller space, so you have to be comfortable being close to the other diners, but it does fit the feel of the place, and helps add to the atmosphere.
All in all we had a fantastic evening, and could not think of anything that could have been bettered.
Thanks folks, we can't wait to come back.
The best meal of our stay (or anywhere for ages). Oh, those Shetland mussels!
Conveniently located next to the train station, small place with inside and outside seating. We ordered prawns, scallops and pasta carbonara: the food was delicious! Very good service as well
We "popped in" on Thursday for a quick drink, drank our own body weight in sambuca and limoncello, it smelt so good we booked for the following night - we wasn't let down, utterly amazing. All the staff were lovely and the chefs deserve medals 🏅 👏
Our interest was caught by the sign outside and we had to get the seafood platter straight away. It was SO good. I wish I was local so I could eat here every day, the rest of the menu looked incredible
