This place has such a good vibe with live music and lovely food all day the only downside is that the service is slow and inattentive. The 12.5% service charge is included on the bill and I feel that has quite a lot to do with poor service. There are plenty of staff on but they don't check on tables and our mains came before are starters. Whilst it was corrected it is when the food came the wait staff should be on top of their tables. With that said the style, decor, cleanliness and free entertainment does make this a great place to go especially for long brunches that end up lasting all night
We had classmates reunion at this amazing place. The picture showed is autumn risotto with pumpkin , orange and chess on top. It’s really creamy and flavorful. In the middle of the lunch, a group of people started to sing , which is so relaxing. The great memories with people and with food are all from here! Thanks so much!
Okay so, finding this place can be challenging, that’s the only criticism I have. The food is good and the service is excellent.
While it was very busy at the restaurant, the entertainment was great with a live band.
Overall, great atmosphere, food, amazing service and good entertainment. It is a bit pricey but it’s worth it and it’s right next to Edinburgh Waverley Station.
Fantastic place located across the road from Waverly train station. Good food and great atmosphere.
It has an upmarket feel without the snobbery.
I would definitely recommend a visit.
We did the afternoon tea at Brewhemia, and it was a pretty good experience overall. The tea itself (from the Wee Tea Company) was great and the food was all good.
The tea is supposed to be unlimited, however the service wasn't great, so we only ever had someone stop by our table one additional time for a refill, and we were there for quite some time. We were also in a corner and struggled to flag anyone down.
The only other complaint is that we had three of us in our group, and the third person's food was not prepared as meticulously and was missing garnishes and other parts of the food that the other two had. While it is minor, it was relatively pricey per person, and we would have expected the experience to be consistent for everyone.
Great evening here with friends and family!
Very tasty meal with a fresh menu. The service was outstanding.
After the meal the bands started which was great fun and the dancing added to a great evening.
Great ambiance, good selection of alcohol drinks although bar snack menu is very limited for such a venue and quality is below average. Staff are polite and friendly
Beautiful establishment, friendly service and the drinks were AMAZING! I was given a Gentlemans Tea voucher as part of Father's Day, had a great time here- if you're ever in Edinburgh, definitely give this place a go. You might even meet a certain Mr Jonathan Walker like I did!
Brewhemia is a great place for a drink and a wee sociable rendezvous. We had a room booked for a work event. A friendly young lady met us at the entrance and escorted us to the bar. The venue has a large central indoor courtyard and a live jazz band were playing.
Drinks prices were what I would expect from a smart venue like this...£6-7.
I enjoyed the evening.
Cozy restaurant with live music. The wurst was tasty. It wasn't a big portion. The place was a little bit loud, but it's a busy, fancy restaurant. The staff was helpful.
10am and the place is only starting to get customers, so the atmosphere wasn't great yet but they gave us our choice of seat. The waiters have time to chat when it's not so busy. The food was delish. I got haggis and Bathurst, she got avo with poached eggs, mimosas after 11am. The decor is very cool, all different seats and tables. Great setup. I'd recommend this place!
Visited Brewhemia with my husband and three kids. Very nice restaurant, good music, great service, and amazing food. I would definitely recommend eating here. Just make sure to make reservations!
Attended for a work Christmas event. The majority of the night was good, however service was a let down. It was evident that they wanted to get us moved on as there was a sitting afterwards. A couple of time plates were taken before people were finished. And when asked if done, came back within no more than 2 minutes to check again. I appreciate you need the table back for round 2, but maybe more time allocation or getting food out a little bit earlier would save tables being rushed.
Other than that, the quality and quantity of food was great, the live band was great and a great setting for a Christmas meal.
Edit: One final thing I wanted to add, we paid for the event ahead of time, however when we received the bill there was a service charge on top of the 400 pounds we had already spent. There was around 25 quids work of drinks that needed settling that came to near 60 quid. This is extremely cheeky in my opinion. I would suggest this is looked at, we assume that the service charge is built into the package cost since we paid ahead of time. What if we had no drinks to settle? Would we have been expected to pay 12.5% of 400, I would hope not.
This place was suggested by a fellow tourists. It was a bit hard to navigate to but so glad we found it. Very nice atmosphere overall. Reservations gets you a table, otherwise go to the very back to sit at the bar. Cocktails were very good and felt refreshing after a long day of site seeing. Live music was great as well.
This is such a cool spot! I’d come back for the beers and the vibes.
I had a caesar schnitzel salad that tasted like fish… I could hardly finish it. Other people in the group got fish and chips and the salmon and like it!
Fun place but I don't recommend going there for a meal in the evening. We had a booking for 6pm and got a table in a very loud room. I could hardly hear my friends. I understand it was a Saturday evening, but I thought we'd get a table in a quieter spot since we had a booking for food. Also, the risotto was tasty but I felt like I could eat another meal of the same size. It wasn't filling enough. I'll probably go back for a drink or two but not for food.
Really great place just off the train station food was amazing drinks were flowing and the music was great #broxburnsings
Warm and welcoming Brewhemia opposite Waverley Train Station Edinburgh. Fresh tasting brewed beer with a lovely Bavarian vibe to this bar. We didn’t eat here but I must say the food looked and smelt delightful. Well worth a visit, the only small problem I could see was the toilets were down a winding set of stairs that older clientele may find a bit of a problem. Highly recommended.
