Easily the best cup of coffee I've had in Scotland! Very trendy little cafe similar to back home in Australia with plenty of baked goods and beautiful salads (the fruit salad for breakfast is a winner, generous serve and very fresh). Close to Waverley station too so very handy for travellers!

the extra time taken to accurately prepare the salad paid excellent dividend. It was beautifully seasoned, packed with flavour and a complete riot of palette pleasing joy

Really cute joint and the hot drinks are served adorably as well. I really loved my hot chocolate and grilled sandwich, the granola was decent too, oooh and the brownie was delicious! This was pretty early in the morning and the staff was super cheerful, that always makes any café seem 10x better.

Had a tasty enough tuna melt and good latte to go. Prices what you'd expect for centre of town, but good place to stop by to pick up sustenance for a jaunt up Calton Hill.

We stopped by this little place on our walk about, they had a new barista, and she was phenomenal! We both had lattes with a cranberry danish twist. Bathrooms, single stall, were clean. I took the opportunity to visit with the manager, thanked him for their service, let him know the danish was delectable, and how much we appreciated their little shop. This is a great little place, if you’re in the area, be sure and stop bye for a bite and a coffee. !

Just spotted for a coffee and cake. Perfect spot before continuing my walkabout in Edinburgh. I sat outside as it was almost full and clever people had reserved seats. Nice long black coffee and a piece of pecan and raisin tart.

Pastries were nice , good service and great coffee . Slightly expensive but it's in a prime location and the festival so understandable. Knowledgeable staff . Its nice to receive a proper machiatto for once aswell .. so many places get this simple coffee wrong .

Stopped on the way to Calton Hill. Yes, the place is tiny, and yes, they do direct you to an appropriately sized table even if they aren't busy. But the food was really good. The owner said they get their bread and cakes from small, local bakeries. The ciabatta was first rate, and the caramel shortbread and pastry were really yummy. We thought the wait staff was very nice. Would go back again if we found ourselves in that part of town.

Great coffee, avocado toast, and service! A warm stop in while visiting Edinburgh, not far from the square and the bus station.

Really nice food, very very fresh, friendly staff. And the coffee is so good. Small seating area good for small groups the largest seating is for six people. I recommend sitting outside if the weather is good.

We just popped in to grab sandwiches for our three small kids and we're surprised at the incredibly good quality of the baguettes just sitting in their cooler. The ham, cambaxola and sundried tomato baguette was especially good. Lovely staff too.

Visited for breakfast this morning, lovely welcoming staff, the cakes and pastries looked and smelt amazing. Great menu on offer, fresh home made soup and the Ciabattas look devine and definitely fresh today! Prices are reasonable extremely reasonable! Best coffee we have had in ages! We didn’t reserve a table, only had a few minutes to wait for a free table; This coffee house is literally a few seconds away from the Apex Waterloo Hotel, we will be back and it beats a hotel breakfast by a mile!
