We had dinner with friends after a rugby match at Murrayfield which is nearby. The restaurant is also close to Haymarket Station. It was very busy but we were served promptly and the food was very tasty. There was a great range of choice on the menu and vegetarians are well catered for. We had mixed starters followed by main courses with rice and Naan bread. Service was very good without being intrusive. The restaurant is slightly cramped with not too much space between tables so if you have mobility problems contact them in advance and I am sure they will be helpful.
order for 2: chicken kurma, murgh kebab, pilao rice, naan
All superb. Check other review platforms as the few here do not accurately reflect how wonderful this establishment is.
During the weekend trip from Warrington to Edinburgh we were looking for an Indian restaurant. And this place, close to where I was staying, looks interesting and I decided to move in as this serves Bengali cuisine as well. Food, drinks are really good and rates are pretty reasonable as well. Felt good to see that it attracts lots of foreigners or non Indians as well. Very good place to be. Enjoyed my dinner a lot. Next time I'm in Edinburgh I'll definitely visit this place.
Opted for a takeaway from Ignite last night, after being underwhelmed with the more local take out spots nearby. Glad we made the switch. We had mushroom chaat and mixed kebab to start, followed by lamb Nentara and green herb lamb for main. The mushroom chaat was something different for us and very tasty. The mixed kebabs were mixed, but nothing to write home about, a bit dry and no garnish. The two lamb dishes were packed full of flavour, and the Nentara was exactly what I was after, sweet and sour and a great sauce to dip the perfectly sized naan into. Very reasonable and will defo try again. Hooray!
Definitly the best curry in Edinburgh.. Good service and fab naan bread..my only negative is the price of the beer
My favourite Indian. One of the best chefs and good service, also a great ceylon on the lunch special. Just watch out for the price of the large kingfishers!
One of the best Indians I've ever eaten at. We've used it for 3 Christmas nights out and numerous working lunches. Their lunch special is great value for money.
Ignite is a lovely restaurant serving Bangladesh and Indian cuisine.
Visited on spec on a Friday and a party of 8 could be accommodated.
The food was truly delicious, with nobody disappointed, and the service was excellent too.
Definitely recommended.
Best Indian food in Edinburgh. Delicious, flavourful, perfectly cooked starters and mains.
The lamb kebabs in the non-vegetarian starter platter were perfectly seasoned, tender and succulent. Our mains were exceptional. Very generous portion sizes.
Great place for a date night with brilliant service and relaxing atmosphere. Thank you very much, we will definitely be back soon.
Coming from Leicester I eat a few curries and I have to say this was one of the best 10/10.
We were wandering aimlessly, admonishing ourselves for not planning our evening meal better, and we happened upon this gem. They had a table for 2! Yay! The service was wonderful. The food was amazing. The prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend!
We ordered a large takeaway and we were really well looked after. Great food and very friendly staff. Would recommend. The app was very easy to use
We came in quite late at night after a long journey to Edinburgh and they still had us in. Staff are very friendly, food was amazing good. Thank you very much!
I've been many times before, and the food is consistently good. Very busy at this time of year due to the festival but still able to get a table with no reservation. One quibble, we were asked if we wanted coffee at the end which I would normally not bother with however asked for an expresso this time. The chap put three spoons of nescaffe instant into a cup with a little water. Horrible and not what was asked for. He shouldn't be asking if they don't have...Left a nasty taste in the mouth (so to speak!)
Potentially the finest curry I’ve ever eaten. and I’ve eaten A LOT of curry. Tender meat that fell apart, lovely and spicy too. So often restaurants try and cater for a British palate; not here, it was simply superb. Lovely service too. Very friendly. I dined alone and was treated with kindness and courtesy all evening. Will definitely return next time I am in Edinburgh.
Photos are: mixed meat kebab, followed by lamb korahi, keema rice and saag paneer.
Had heard about this restaurant from a colleague. It was just what I was looking for : great choice of food, reasonably priced and great service. Portions were huge. Tasty curries, great friendly service. Cosy comfortable surroundings. Very stylish toilets.
Friendly staff. Nice decor. Good food. Decent prices.
Love this small Indian restaurant we've been going for years and it's never disappointed us
Nice friendly staff, nice music playing just in the background. Food was excellent and authentic taste, no red sauce in sight.
Great excellent menu exceeded well cooked and presented. Pre book.
Looking for a nice place to eat while visiting the city and we were drawn into here by the delicious smell. Staff where polite, food was excellent and the price was average. Definitely would recommend. The lamb Rogan Josh was amazing.
