Amazing food and service. The fish was a footlong! Lightly battered and I got steamed vegetables and thir tartar sause was super good. It was dill and pickles and sour cream. It was so good that I went the next day and had it again.
Good selection of beers, small menu but good quality food. Staff were friendly and appeared interested in my responses - always a bonus! Prices were not too expensive and an obviously popular quiz night was about to take place as I left. Will I go again? Yes, this is a lovely venue and ticks all th
Great little pub on the corner, we came during the day for lunch and also popped in the same evening for dessert after dinner elsewhere. The gentleman at lunch was very friendly and hospitable, was great to have a conversation with him and the food was delicious!!! Including my vegetarian option. Th
Rick Steves got this right and so did my Guest House host! Barony House sent me here and I came away feeling like I had a real local experience. Great hospitality! I went back multiple times!
Rick Steves recommended it, and though the "fine dining" upstairs was closed because of a price event, the pub was great. Definitely above average pub grub. I had gnocchi with sauce from fresh tomatoes and veggies with a bit of spice to it. The apple pie was made fresh and full of fresh apples. Lot
Popped in for a couple of drinks with work mates was quiet picked up when football started, staff friendly decent prices clean tidy traditional pub what's not to like.
Great local pub. The steak and ale pie was the best I have ever had. Fish and chips were good as well. Try the Hagis Bites for a starter. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A must stop. If you have young ones get there before 8 pm due to their license.
Really nice authentic pub with a great atmosphere! We discovered it by accident one evening and decided to give it a try. Oh boy, we were not disappointed. We liked it so much that we came back a second time during our stay in Edinburgh. The first evening we tried the haggis from their menu (my girl
Both the barteneders and the patrons were very friendly and welcoming. 10/10. The steak pie was excellent
Beautiful local Pub. Well designed with outstanding fittings. The decorations were brilliant. Definitely value for money
A lovely pub in the neighbourhood, when entering you can almost hear the song in your head 🎶 where everybody knows your name 🎵 great selection of guest ales and on Mondays there seems to be Pub Quiz Night, at least we ran into it…
Lovely food, great service. Move little pub
We popped in there after visited the Rosslyn Chapel. Really had a nice and calm time there. All staffs especially chief lady were very thoughtful and kind for us. We also enjoyed various kind of scotch, gin and beer! Foods are also perfect!!!! We would like to visit there in next time too.
Nice cosy little place in the Mayfield area just outside the centre of Edinburgh. Decent ales and some lovely food. The Balmoral Chicken and Haggis, neeps & tatties pictured here were both served with a peppercorn whisky sauce and were very tasty indeed.
We came here on a recommendation from our B&B hosts and are glad we did. Food was good, beer was delicious, and atmosphere was terrific. Scotland was playing Georgia and even the rain delay didn't dampen enthusiasm.
The staff is amazingly kind, good beer and beautiful food. I just love the atmosphere as well.
