We visited Vittoria on the Walk today and had a delicious full Scottish breakfast. Great food and friendly, efficient service. Highly recommended!

Great pasta in Edinburgh. Ordered the seafood pasta and focaccia. If the garlic focaccia is anything to go by then their pizza must be amazing. But I'm a creature of habit and so always order the linguine alla pescatora. Fast efficient Italian service at its best.

Vittoria has been around for 45 years, and it is easy to see why. Its varied menu with all the Italian classics makes it a solid choice for a meal out. Just be sure to save room for dessert so you can fill up on that beautiful stracciatella ice cream! ;)

Best Italian meal ever love it!. It was the first night of our getaway to Edinburgh and we walked past VIttoria's earlier on and had really good first impressions. Although it was a Monday night it was very busy proving to be a popular place. I ordered the chicken tagliatelle with broccoli, fancying something simple and light. I was blown away by how simple and tasty it was and before I knew it had eaten it all up! My partner had the calzone which was a generous size and he thoroughly enjoyed. We both agreed it was a top restaurant and glad we had gone with our instincts. The staff were very friendly and made you feel very important throughout your meal. I would recommend to anybody as it has a menu that would cater for everyone and it is a reasonable price for such high quality food. Well done VIttoria's :) .

Great Italian cusine!. The food was wonderful and the staff were attentive, but not overly pushy for us to leave. A lovely afternoon, despite the wind howling outside! Great deal well worth it.

It's a puzzler why we always pass over some of our favourites for 'newbies' in town, especially so when they are on our doorstep. Vittoria on Leith Walk is a firm favourite but I hadn't been in a while, but when thinking of a friendly place to meet my out of town cousin for a good ol chin wag and top notch tucker, I'm glad it popped back to my mind!

The menu is as you'd expect from a great Italian, no real surprises there. It's classic. It's quality. It's family. Having said that I was particularly pleased when the cheery waitress explained that the special of the day was a smoky, aubergine filled Ravioli dish, which just made me shut the familiar menu and say 'yes please'...

The staff really make you feel welcome, and are never pushy. It was rammed when we were in, even at the early hour that said out of town cousin likes to 'lunch'. I wish I'd pretended it was her birthday when a sparkly cake went flying past to a nearby table and everyone started to sing. She'd have hated it actually, but it's all part of the family charm of Vittoria.

If you fancy great, honest, italian food, with a decent selections or veggies then Vittoria is for you. Add in fantastic wine and swoonsome coffee, all served with a smile, why would you say no? Time to remember the classics and celebrate their place in Edinburgh foodie culture - new is good, but for a big foodie hug it's the old favourites every time.

Edinburgh is a city that baffles me. The rated restaurants are so far away from the train stations and I can never find the shops that I’m looking for. Everything is so spaced out but there’s no underground to connect it. I’m undecided if the city is actually as confusing as I feel or if it’s just that I’m so used to knowing where things are in Glasgow that I turn into an old frustrated wifey when I step off the train. I also generally arrive in Edinburgh hungry and devoid of the energy needed to sail uphill to my destination. Luckily my resident Edinburger friend knows where she is going so I didn’t end up doing a full-on hike to Vittoria’s On The Bridge.

Those native to Edinburgh have probably heard of Vittoria’s since there are two of them and the Vittoria group also have another three restaurants in the city. So I was bound to try one of them soon and we decided on the restaurant on the George IV bridge.

After the thousand steps of our journey, I needed some comfort. I was so glad that we’d picked an Italian for dinner tonight. My companion, Miss Edinburgh, had been to Vittoria’s in Leith & was signed up to their mailing list so had a 50% off food voucher for us to use so we booked it. We enquired about what it could be used on but we were told we needed a Vittoria’s card to use it. After reading through the terms & conditions of the offer and it saying nothing about a card, we spoke to the waiter again and managed to get it sorted. Now that was out of the way we could order.

An appetiser of arancini was ordered – rice balls made with mozzarella and bolognese sauce that came with rocket and arrabiata dip. They were crunchy on the outside as they should be and laced with mozzarella inside. I had ordered them because I was interested in tasting the difference between arancini that I’ve had before and Vittoria’s bolognese addition. It lacked the strength of flavour that I was expecting so if I go back I’ll try focaccia or calamari instead.

We shared a pizza and pasta for our main course to get the best of both worlds. The menu is massive so to make things easier we went for their signature pasta. Tagliatelle Vittoria was pasta in a sauce of tomato, spicy sausage, mushroom, onion, mincemeat and cream. The menu says it’s their best seller and I can see why. I thought the combination of flavours worked well and the dish was tasty.

Veering from traditional Italian, we chose the Hawaii pizza to join the pasta. Ham & pineapple may not be gourmet gastronomy but for some reason it works if you are in the mood for it. There were much classier choices but we fancied an old school choice. The base was thin, crispy edges, lots of cheese (probably too much but we did want comfort) and the toppings were delish. It was a high standard of what I think as British Italian pizza – too much cheese, sauce and toppings to be found in Naples so it is a British adaptation of the classic.

Our half price food voucher made this the cheapest meal I’ve had in a while but I would have not grudged paying full price. Our shaky start with the voucher mix up and a menu that is frankly overwhelming were replaced with thoughts of a solid classic Italian.

Ate here my first night in Scotland and it was great! Everything we ate was delicious, and even on what I called a busy night we didn’t wait long on anything; the food came quickly. The staff was also friendly and polite so I have nothing bad to say about the service.

This Italian restaurant is one of the best I have been to. The waiter/waitress was friendly and attentive, the service was fast. The pasta dishes (ravioli) my husband and I ordered were excellent. While we were staying in Edinburgh we dined here two nights in a row and couldn't get enough.

We discovered this Italian restaurant walking past on our holidays in Edinburgh. We liked the look of the place and booked for that evening. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. It was very busy despite being a Monday night. Please consider booking if you go here. We chose Arancini and Calamari Fritti as starters. We then had Seafood Frittura and a special from the board that had scallops and prawns in a creamy sauce with black pudding. We chose a Panzanella salad as a side. The food was lovely, tasty, cooked perfectly and well presented. There are no ales here. There is one draught lager. There is a good choice of wine and spirits. We were too full for dessert. In all, very very good.

6 of us spent the weekend in Edinburgh ( 6-8 October ) as part of my Brother’s Birthday celebrations and had dinner on Friday evening. What a night. Made to feel extremely welcome by Staff from the moment we walked in. Obviously a popular restaurant. Great atmosphere which set the tone for our night. The menu gave all of us plenty to choose from and everyone agreed that the food was excellent. Staff very attentive without being overbearing. Highly recommended and will definitely visit again next time in Edinburgh.

Nice ambience, decent service and one of the best Calzones I've had in a long time. Only slight issue was the macaroni cheese croquettes, which were a touch on the tough and chewy side, but that's a minor quibble really.

Italian Restaurant in Edinburgh with sincerity! The garlic bread is crunchy with rich butter and garlic flavour. The Risotto is creamy with an al dente texture. Calzone looks like a pair of ox horns filled with all the ingredients and sauce, but we would prefer the classic pizza to calzone.

It's was our second daughters birthday and this was a great choice. We were shown to our table, with politeness and by the lovely staff, who were so much fun with our grandchild. I had the chicken in white wine sauce, was simply the best I've had, all the food was great. Really enjoyed it. Highly recommended and hopefully be back there at some point. 😆

Our last night in Edinburgh and we wanted some fine Italian dishes. I like it when they cook/combine food that I normally not do myself. And we all four liked all courses. Even the focaccia had a subtle flavor off rosemary and the olive oil finished the touch. My main dish was a ravioli of Gorgonzola with pear and walnut in a creamy sauce. A perfect combined flavor. Maybe that the sauce was a little too heavy. The host was friendly and it is one of the better Italian restaurant I ever been to.
