Frankly, the 1 star reviews are baffling. I've been in here many times. For a couple of beers or for the food and I'm always greeted with a warm welcome.
It's a busy bar, for sure. But it only adds to the atmosphere as you hear the sound of people laughing talking and having a good time.

Great traditional Scottish Restaurant / Bar with good selection of beer etc. We had their Highland Chicken stuffed with locally caught haggis. Very tasty. For dessert we tried the Deep fried Mars Bar - not something we like.

Tasty food in a nice environment. The decoration is very nice. The service was great and the prices in the average. Maybe the portions a bit small....
We really loved this bar! Beautifully decorated and was perfect for a cold pour during our sight-seeing in Edinburgh.
Went there on a food tour and had the skink. Very delicious. Went back the next day for some more plus some other starters like the haggis. I went with a burger. Was huge and very tasty. Will go back when we come back. Service is excellent as well.

Here just for a drink yesterday, cool pub, you have to order at the bar. Tested the whisky spritz for the first Time, really good !
