What a find.... the most amazing place for dirty food , the waiting staff absolutely on point... the food on a total other level, awesome quirky interior with nosh to match, if your in Edinburgh and looking for top nosh this is defo the place.
I ordered the grilled cheese with patty and caramelized onion (i forgot the name! lol) and the sweet potato fries. Everything was amazing. Loved it both.
Amazing burguers, really nice staff that knows exactly what they're doing. And they do it with a smile!
The sweet potatoes are delicious! Fair prices, even for beer. A must go if you like meat and visit Edinburgh 😊
A little burger but always crowded and in demand.
The space itself is not very big but we are very well received by a super friendly and helpful staff.
As for the service, 5 stars.
The hamburgers are very good and if you opt for one that has that shredded steak, it's divine.
It is advisable to arrive early because there is always a queue and the space is small.
But worth the wait.
Service was quick and staff members were kind and attentive.
They have a lot of options for burgers, it's a great place to get different burgers. They serve beef, pulled pork, bacon, falafel, mushroom, veg and vegan burgers. Sandwiches and sides too
The pulled pork burger, has a smiley barbecue sauce and the meat was very tender and not dry at all.
The vegan chicken fried burger was a great substitute for chicken burgers.
Overall a great restaurant, causal, family and pocket friendly with a variety of options.
Best Food I've Had In A While I Enjoyed It So Much Lovely Food Was Amazing And Chips Came In A Cute Bucket Lol And Atmosphere Was Really Good
One of the most delicious burgers that I had for years was in this packed place. Good meat and juicy burger. Very good service. Good decor. Worth a visit
Noticed this places a few times while waking around Edinburgh. Every time I have passed it has been really busy and I didn't k ow if this was because of the food or the fact that it's only a small restaurant.
Well I can tell you now that it's because of the food,I've eaten a lot of burgers and will always go to the burger section on any menu.
This place offers some of the nicest burgers not only to the eye but to the taste buds....I mean a double burger inside a toasted glazed doughnut with candied bacon and cheese...that's a winner right there.
The sides are just as good as the mains, the sweet potato fries are as good as any I have had anywhere else, and the squeaky cheese cubes are a game changer!.....I just wish there was a place like this back in the Sheffield area.
Bread Meats Bread is yet another in a long line of burger joints opening up in Scotland’s capital. This burger place has already been doing a good trade over in Glasgow. I had seen plenty of photos and positive things on social media but would it live up to the hype? You cannot reserve a table in advance but we got a table easily. However, within 20 mins the place was pretty much full, so be prepared to wait but they have crammed in as many tables as possible and the service is quick so you shouldn’t be waiting too long.
I loved bread meats bread it's got a great choice and lovely reasonable prices. Great burgers and grilled cheese. And the chef made us our own homemade garlic mayo even tho it wasn't on the menu! It was the best garlic mayo we have ever tasted so hats off to the chef and thanks for a great experience
It’s been a while since we reviewed something edible, you must be starting to think we’re going hungry. Don’t fret, Christmas was good to us, the gym won’t know what hit it. Our annual hunt for Edinburgh’s best burger had a new champion this year, and whilst the votes were being counted we carried out a little research into a future contender.
There was only one reason I wanted to visit Bread Meats Bread: poutine! As a Canadian, I was so happy to find poutine with proper cheese curds here in Edinburgh.
Along with the classic combination, they have quite a few different poutine options, and I opted for the poutine with sweet potato fries - which was delicious.
It was really busy when I visited, and I had to wait a while for a table, but all staff were very friendly and accommodating.
So I finally got to meet the new kid on the block...and he's really pretty tasty. Was lucky to not have to wait in a mad queue as expected, and shown straight to a table. Diner is pretty small, but does the trick. Was a tough decision on which burger to choose, but after much deliberation I chose the 'Sunshine on Beef' burger which consists of brisket, burger and beer mayo. Absolutely amazing! Best burger I've had in Edinburgh without a shadow of a doubt. My felly had the Cali x2 burgers which were smaller, but still tasty. We had poutine and bacon chips too...yummers. This is the burger place to try...and trust me...I love a burger! Only thing lacking was service
- but will 100% be back
POPULAR GLASGOW BURGER joint, Bread Meats Bread, has joined the Edinburgh burger scene, occupying the site on Lothian Road recently vacated by Yummi Tori. No doubt hoping to emulate the success of Burger Meats Bun, who opened their second restaurant in the capital last year, we popped in for a late afternoon bite to see what all the hype was about.
I was disappointed not to be able to make it along to Bread Meats Bread’s pre-opening evening, a couple of weeks ago. I very rarely go to launches these days, but fancied welcoming them to their new Edinburgh location as I had been really impressed with their Glasgow restaurant when I visited. Regular guest quester Eleanor did go along to represent us, though.
The best burger in Edinburgh, hands down the winner. Been a few times in Glasgow and i'm happy to say that this place is just as good.
Love a good cheese burger with fries. x
We had been to Bread Meats Bread in Glasgow a few times because my boyfriend loves it (he is a big burger fan)! Burgers aren't normally my favourite thing, but I like a well cooked burger and Bread Meats Bread really delivers! When I heard that a branch was opening in Edinburgh I knew we had to go ASAP, and I'm happy to report that it is just as good as Glasgow.
The Cali burger is a favourite of mine, as it is very similar to an In-N-Out burger, but this time I tried a buffalo chicken burger and I was pleasantly surprised that it was chunks of chicken. We also shared sweet potato fries; the whole meal was delicious.
The service was good, but it seemed a little disorganised as we were asked a few times by different people if we wanted to order, even though we already had!
Bread Meats Bread is a great place to go for a casual dinner with a group of friends or family, as it is very relaxed. It is also close to a few theaters which makes it great for a quick dinner before a show.
Wow......I had the Black&Blue Burger....bacon,blue cheese, caramelised onions, grilled mushrooms & blue cheese mayo, you can choose medium or well done, I opted for medium, it was delicious. After that, I tried fresh doughnut, caramel & cinnamon...not great for the waistline, but that to was delicious. Certainly worth a visit, nice decor, very friendly staff, I can see this becoming my regularly burger place.
Very excited to have attended the launch of Bread Meats Bread, Edinburgh; situated on the busy Lothian Road, along from the Film House. They serve up some of my all time favourite classic food – burgers and chips! AND I got to visit again last night. These have to be the best burgers in the Burgh! and I've recommended so many people who have all come back and said the same thing - absolutely fabulous burgers!
This place has been super busy since it opened but luckily on both occasions we were seated right away by friendly staff. Staff are happy to explain the menu and to fill you in on the ethos behind BMB. They focus on quality, source all the ingredients locally and cook everything on site.
We started off with the Caramelised Sweet Fries – sweet potato fries with maple syrup, cayenne pepper and coconut. These were awesome! Next up was 2 burgers : The Lothian Wolf (their signature burger) which is served with American Cheese, Bacon, Pulled Pork in BBQ sauce, crispy fried onions and Nduja Mayo; the other was The Scotalian, similar but had the Nduja sausage mixed into the beef. Really delicious and the bread was yummy too. They stock a selection of bread with gluten, dairy and egg free options available too.
We then had a wee rest from eating all this delicious food whilst they prepared our sandwiches. We were seated next to the open kitchen so we could see exactly what was going on – lots of staff working hard.
Up next was the BBQ Beef Brisket Sandwich – 12 hour slow cooked inhouse and dipped in beefy BBQ sauce. Pulled to order and served with crispy fried onions & mixed leaves. The beef was melt in the mouth! We also had the Redhead – ginger, garlic, chilli and coriander marinated and grilled chicken served with mixed leaves dipped in a spicy Sriracha mayo. The chicken was grilled to perfection.
And it didnt stop there. We also got to try out the Classic Poutine, a dish from Canada and the perfect hangover cure. The chips are served with gravy (made from the cooked meat juices and fresh cheese curds! Super comfort food. They have some other twists on poutine on the menu but there was no way we could have eaten them too (next time).
Then another wee rest and another drink followed by three mini donuts. OMG these are divine! Proper sharp raspberry jam, a hazlenut cream and the best vanilla custard we’ve ever had.
Throughout the evening we drank the house red and white wine and received a glass of prosecco on arrival (very nice glasses!)
Many thanks to the manager and all the staff at BMB Edinburgh. Your service is exceptional. Your food is top notch.
I was thrilled to receive an invite to Bread Meats Bread’s pre-opening night last week. I’ve never visited their Glasgow restaurant before but with all the hype I had heard about them coming to Edinburgh I knew it was going to be good! The restaurant was very busy but the staff accommodated everyone and supplied drinks to those waiting for tables. Every single member of staff I encountered here were so incredibly friendly and did their absolute best to make sure we all had a fantastic time. Basically the evening consisted of being brought different dishes (mini burgers, sides and puddings) until we were full…awesome!
Hands down, some of the best burgers in Edinburgh, if not the best. I visited recently and ordered the Classic one and it was everything I expected (and more). Tasty flavourful meat, great sauce, perfect size... And to top it all, very reasonably prized! If you're hungry and near Lothian Road, go there and try any of their amazing burgers.
Took on the Lothianwolf burger (beef burger, bacon and pulled pork filling) and a shared bowl of sweet potato fries. The burger was the definition of small but mighty. Looked easily achievable but turned out to be a massive and delicious meat eating challenge. By the time I was done the fries were cold. Next time I'll have to work on my prioritisation.
Venue was really nice. We'll worth a go
Oh my! Bacon, spice and cheese fries are now the top of my "want" list. Next up the sweet fries - sweet potato , coconut, sugar served with n'duya Mayo 👌. With burgers such as sunshine on beef and fear and Lothian you get their humour. We'll be back!
Our go to place for burger in the city. There is nothing comparable to Bread Meat Bread when it comes to burgers. I am a regular for many years since and from the first time I visited in Glasgow back in 2015 to today they maintain the same high standard and exceptional great quality. I cannot recommend enough the place for burgers. Not big fun of poutine but from friends’ comments it is good as well. Strongly recommended. Make sure to book especially if you are a big group.
Great place for a burger and fries. We ended up visiting twice on our visit to Edinburgh (from the States). My partner is gluten intolerant, so we specifically found this place because of their gluten free menu. My partner also has some additional allergies which the staff took very seriously. Pictured is the Cheeseburger and Maple Bacon Sweet Potato Fries (a little too much syrup).
Absolutely delicious food for me!!! Freshly grill burgers with amazing chips, sweet but not overly done cheesecake and a refreshing mock tail. Yes all the way!!! However, it’s a bit heavy on the body though. Probably not for everyday dinner.
Once a while with friends and family. Definitely recommended from me!!!
Managed to get a table here on a very busy Friday night. The burgers were very tasty with good flavours. The fries were amazing. Partner said it was one of the best burgers he’d ever had. Would highly recommend
This place was the bomb! The food was so good. I got a chicken San which and my husband got the burger with pulled pork. They have a wide variety of burgers and sandwiches. Would have loved to try more of their food. I had the sticky toffee pudding twice for dessert.
Best burger I've ever had. Chose the Challoumi burger. Every element cooked perfectly and the flavours worked so well together. Friendly staff and good service.
I've never had a quasi religious experience whilst eating a burger before in my 30 years, but oh my, you guys did it. Best burger of my life. Keep up the good work you guys... and please, never take the Luther Burger off the menu.
Quick service, loads of vegan options and nice cocktails. Edinburgh prices for drinks was a little pricey, food was good. Burger was a little greasy but still pretty good. Would return!
Great food! came pretty quickly.
Nice waiters and the vibes at this restaurant are really good.
Had a great time!
Really cool retro interior. The quality of the meat and the food in general is really good. Nice staff, orders come out quickly. Overall good value.
