The coffee was the best I've had in quite a while - we both had an Americano. Not oversized but well made with a lovely flavour.
We also had the chorizo wrap and the vegetarian wrap. These were a really nice change from the normal breakfasts you get on most menus. They've really thought about the flavours in these wraps with comte cheese making them lovely and gooey. I wouldn't change a thing.
The staff were very friendly and I highly recommend Milk.
Lovely cafe for coffee and cake! The menu has a huge selection of vegetarian and vegan options- bit cramped to sit inside so avoid the lunchtime rush, or plan to take out.
We loved Milk so much we went there 3 days in a row. The food was great but it was the service that made it a delight to return time and time again. A hidden gem!
We stopped by to get 6 full english's to go. Very friendly servers and prompt service. Really good food, just what was needed.
The Milky Way. About 5 mins from the Haymarket is this little cafe on Morrison street. In the door and the tiny benches, tiled walls and simple decor make you smile. The menu is tempting (choritzo burrito) but I have a latte and a chocolate brownie. The coffee was good, the brownie very good so all in all I would recommend it. It's quite quirky and a change from the usual chintzy chains.
Milk Saves the Day. On a visit to Edinburgh earlier this week I was keen to try out the Pho Vietnam House for my lunch before heading back west. Pregnancy means I need a summer roll fix every now and then and they are not easy to come by in Scotland! I was more than excited when I stepped into the premises only to discover they are closed 2pm-5pm. It was 2.10. What a drag! The cheery party of American ladies gulping down pho in the corner did their best to make me feel even more jealous, they seemed happy with their food indeed.
Ravenous and tired I walked back Morrison Street towards Haymarket ready to give up when I stumbled upon this lovely little place. Milk is a good example of how Edinburgh beats Glasgow by far when it comes to affordable good lunches in nice environments. It is a beautifully decorated space. Good fonts, perfect shades, clean lines, yet cosy - you could be in Scandinavia.
Homemade lemonade with a twist of ginger for £1.50 (you could not be in Scandinavia) clenched my thirst as I took my seat and pondered the food on offer. Keralan veg curry served with flatbread and salad sounded good but I opted for the Vietnamese shredded chicken salad for obvious reasons. Two kinds of cabbage, carrot, chicken, coriander, mint, peanuts and pickles were piled on my plate in a nicely presented way. I would have wished for the dressing to have a bit more of a punch but this is a minor detail under these circumstances. This is food that tastes good and does you good. And this for £3.50! The salad was followed by a brownie that was baked to absolute perfection, offering chunky nuts and a surprising hint of orange.
My good mood had returned with the great food and the spring sun beaming through the window. All in all a very cool place with a whiff of California, although there the lemonade would have been served in a Kerr jam jar of course...

This is my ideal cafe food – something a bit different and unusual, but still super tasty and healthy. To aid you in your choice there are little symbols next to each dish – a star means it’s a superfood! A heart means it is low in fat, and there are also plenty of vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, wheat free and dairy
Great place to go if you’re looking for a tasty yet healthy lunch. They provide sit in or take out service. If you sit in they have a range of benches or high stools for you to get comfy on. Everything at Milk is freshly made and their home baking always looks delicious!
A couple of my favourite lunch time items are the Chicken Thai Sandwich and Pulled Pork Wrap. The sandwich has a lovely peanut sauce on it and is very yummy, just be warned it can be a tad messy if eating on the go as they are very generous with their fillings. The wrap comes hot which is perfect is you are trying to heat up and it comes with slaw. Again, not the tidiest food to eat.
Another plus is that they change their menu seasonally so you never get fed up of eating the same thing.
Sweet little place with a laid-back retro feel (cutlery is kept in old syrup tins on the tables) and reasonable prices. The coffee and home-made drinks are really nice, but go for breakfast and have the amazing chorizo burrito with comte cheese and scrambled eggs.
Perfect! Great menu, fantastic staff, fabulous quality - I’ve chosen brunch here for all three days I’m staying. The chorizo breakfast is beautifully presented and tastes just as good. The latte is one of the best I’ve ever had!
I had breakfast at Milk and loved the presentation of the dishes, the taste of the food, and the service. Regarding the food, they serve it very balanced as I personally like, with vegetables, protein, and good fats, so it's very appealing to anyone who enjoys eating healthily. As for the service, it was very personalized; I would dare to say it's a very familiar atmosphere, and that explains the good service, the excellent presentation of their food dishes, and their beverages.
Excellent little coffee shop with incredible coffee. They clearly take their craft very seriously and we had the best coffee in Scotland here. The breakfast plate and yogurt were both amazing, and the staff was especially warm and kind. Additionally, both the food and coffee were served quickly!
Heads up, the space is cozy and may be a tight fit for groups of 5+.
Delicious food, amazing staff, unique music over the radio. Definitely recommend coming here, great way to start the day! Both dine in or take away options, the banana bread is the best I’ve had!
Great place to grab a healthier alternative for breakfast. It's tiny but the food, coffee, and service make it worthwhile. If you're looking for something a bit different this is ideal.
They accommodated our table of 8 today, thank you so much! The food was amazing and the service was faultless 😊
Nice and friendly staff with great food.
Best breakfast I've ever had around here!
Had read alot of reviews about this place so decided to drop by for a early morning brekkie before I headed back to London.
The space is cute and peaceful. Can definitely be a quiet in the chaos.
They have fresh coffee, pastries and a limited menu.
The barista could have been a little kinder though. She was cold and very business oriented.
On arrival she straight away jumped into what do you want?
And things like can you please only use one table- although the entire cafe was empty.
Can you pay first etc etc!
Anyway back to the food and coffee- really really good and a must try.
My pain au chocolat was fresh.
The breakfast was nice. The avocado were juicy and felt fresh produce.
The place is slightly small, I don’t recommend it if you are in a big group. Coffee blend is slightly more acidic than nutty if that is what you prefer! Still really good coffee though! Food was good and served promptly after ordering! Loved the tomato soup!
Delicious breakfast plate! I got the chorizo breakfast! I also got a mocha latte and my friend got the turmeric latte and would highly recommend! Good place for a chill breakfast!
Perfect little spot. Delicious machiato and pastries. I'll have to come back for lunch. The Spring Dinner gathering menu looks amazing.
Cute little cafe which is great for a breakfast with a twist! Lovely coffee and staff were friendly. Will be back! 🙂
Small place, great food! We had the chorizo and vegan plates. The fresh orange juice comes from a bought bottle, it was good, but not that fresh that squeezed directly.. would come back!
Amazing small cafe. We were greeted with a smile and friendly conversation. Excellent fresh tasty vege breakfast, with the poached egg and halloumi cooked to perfection. Very fast service. Nice vibe with Chilli Peppers tunes playing in the background. Highly recommend this place for visiting tourists or locals alike. Thanks.
Looking for a tasty and cleanish breakfast, MILK was able to provide. Choosing the Chorizo Breakfast served with poached egg, sourdough toast, spinach and chimichurri and a few other other additions. The dish was well seasoned and fresh with a pleasant kick of heat but nothing too unmanageable. The coffee served at a good drinking temperature by friendly staff. If you are looking for a good quality breakfast for a reasonable price, I would recommend this cafe.
Lovely cafe, popped in for coffee & breakfast. Nice range of choices, I’m not vegan but chose the vegan breakfast and it was delicious. Contrary to the previous review the coffee was really good and in a coffee glass. Nice interior and friendly staff.
Lovely little cafe with an excellently curated selection of breakfast items to get your day started. Visited by myself on a Friday morning and the one server was incredibly busy already but was very attentive and friendly regardless. I ordered the veggie breakfast and oat milk latte and loved both! The chef put so much care into my meal, it was just fantastic, exactly what I needed to fuel my day. Would definitely recommend this business 100%.
