The dinner that we had were fabulous, yes, the menu doesn’t look appetising but the chef cooked everything well. Its just that i wished with a place this grand, they serve more elaborate dishes. The service in another hand was excellent, and i love the cute old butler at the entrance, he’s such a sweetheart.

I do love the Dome. It is the Epitome of a classy afternoon out in Edinburgh and the place we always came when we visited. Their cocktails are very well made and they happily produce anything you ask for off the menu, champagne is expensive but not overly so and the wines good. The food menu could be more exciting but the atmosphere is what counts here. Their famous Christmas decorations are a must see.

I visited The Grill Room in Edinburgh with my sisters. It was so elegant and stunning I will go back every time I visit Edinburgh. It was recommended to me by a friend and it did not disappoint. The staff were so accommodating and pleasant to deal with, it really was a wonderful experience for our girls afternoon lunch. I had the beef and mushroom pie. It was gorgeous, really light puff pastry served with thick cut chips and peas. My sisters ordered asparagus and pea risotto and the club sandwich. All the dishes were so delicious. If you're in the neighbourhood, it's definitely a must visit.

Despite the fancy surroundings, drink prices are reasonable and approximately £2 for a half pint, £4 for a pint and £6 for a glass of wine.   On one visit we shared a platter for four (£22.50) but given there were eight of everything this could easily serve more. Comprised of many fried favourites - coconut shrimp, duck spring rolls, mozzarella sticks and sweeter fried doug

Such a pretty place from the outside - and even nicer on the inside! People come here just to photograph it. However there is a lot more than sparkles and lights to the dome. There are two places to eat here - the restaurant and the cafe.

Absolutely stunning venue - it was hard to remember that I wasn't at a hotel as The Dome is so grand! The Green Room that we had our meal
in was beautiful! The food was delicious and very well presented. I am craving the salmon dish already! The waiter was very attentive and well mannered. The whole evening felt very surreal as it was really perfect. I can't fault my evening at The Dome at all!!

Amazing ambience. This is an upmarket fine dining destination set up in historically significant architecture. It is awe inspiring to walk under the Dome and settle down at your table. The place was fully occupied and would need significant waiting time if one does not prebook a table. The service is attentive, quick and friendly. The menu covers a decent spread and most of the items are worth a try over a few visits. Don't forget to end with the sweet dishes at offer. Truly wonderful experience.

I've decided to open a new category up on the blog, for being a student I'm never far from a stout drink. In this instance, on a crispy and blustery Edinburgh day, s.o. and I thought we needed warming up and with the dazzling columns of The Dome beckoning, we scrambled in. I'd only heard of the splendor of this old Edinburgh building, but I was struck by the exquisite roof inside and the bathrooms aren't too shabby either.

Of course, with such lavish surroundings you can normally expect a price tag to match, however, I was roundly impressed with their pricing. Even the main menu, which we had a gander at, seemed very reasonable. Our waitress was slick and the service was informal but snappy. Within moments our drinks were with us.

My hot chocolate came with all the trimmings. Quite the delight. It wasn't hot, which I usually like but because it was so temperate I gulped it down in a few sips. Not very ladylike at all. S.O. ordered a double espresso for a wake up call, and it had him buzzing all day. I'm no coffee expert, but it seemed to do the trick.

So, a fabulous location. A fabulous interior. Spot on staff and a wonderful menu to boot. If you are looking to impress someone new to Edinburgh, this is a good place to start.

As vegans, we never had a vegan afternoon tea before. We found the vegan Afternoon Tea at The Dome and booked a time slot online. By reading about the options, we were not sure what to expect, but in the end our expectations were exceeded and the whole thing turned out a fabulous experience! The atmosphere was great, we thoroughly enjoyed the mood and all the decorations. The service was on point, nice and polite. The tea itself was absolutely marvellous: the tea blends we chose perfectly accompanied our foo; the vegan sausage roll and the sandwiches were delicious; the scones were amazing and so were the small desserts we had. We will definitely repeat the experience in the future!

Stopped by the dome this morning for a quick coffee, staff were all very lovely apart from Douglas who was rather rude to us! Definitely needs some training on how to welcome customers and do his job properly. Apart from that, everything was lovely in the tearoom and the decorations looked wonderful. If your visiting between now and Christmas it's worth a visit.

I would recommend this place, especially around Christmas. Has a magical vibe. There are 3 different areas to eat/drink in. It is highly recommended that you make reservations. Good date or visiting the city place. Not too far from the royal mile.

Staff were very attentive and the food was wonderful. The building itself makes for a beautiful surrounding and really added to the atmosphere. The fillet steak was done particularly well. Would definitely return.

Simply stunning. Steeped in history. My chicken liver pate and lamb cutlets were absolutely delicious. Espresso martini was a wonderful way to round off the meal.

We went to the Georgian Tea Room at the Dome for a vegan afternoon tea. Staff was very nice and attentive, the setting was gorgeous and we really enjoyed our time there. The food selection was lovely, especially the sandwiches. The sweets, however, were too sweet for our liking and we couldn't finish them.

I finally was able to fulfill my high tea dreams!! They had a full vegan menu in addition to their regular menu so I didn’t feel like I was missing out on anything. The food was amazing, the tea was great (I had the Scottish blend), and the staff was top notch. My server even spent some time giving me recommendations on this to see and do on my trip. Would definitely go back again and would recommend to anyone!

A lovely setting with really friendly and efficient staff. The drinks came first with the food close behind. It's the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or if you just want to spoil yourself rotten.

Birthday dinner here for my wife. Food and service as usual impeccable. Slight delay on dessert port for the cheeses but nothing to get in a twist over. Haggis appetizer outstanding, ribeye steak and lamb main course excellent.

The Dome is mind-blowing. The architecture dates back to 1800's and the food was just simply very good. Most impressive is the service, though. All in all, I think this was my favourite experience whilst in Edinburgh.

We had an incredible dinner at The Dome, and drinks at the bar before dinner with friends. The whole experience was lovely. The decor was beautiful, the atmosphere welcoming, the staff fantastic. Our server, Erhan, and an Indian woman, who whose name means “Happy“, were absolutely wonderful servers. I just realized we forgot to take pictures of our food! Doh!

What is not to love! They offer a kids menu, vegan menu, vegetarian menu, or a standard selection which is just so inclusive. I went with my daughter and two grandchildren ages 6 and 4 while on vacation. We felt comfortable and enjoyed the food, our server, and the experience.

I have visited the Dome in the past for lunch or drinks. This is the first time for afternoon tea as usually I don't get booked in time. As expected it was delicious. A beautiful setting, crisp linen table cloth silver tea pots and china cups, with delicious food. Just what you would expect from afternoon tea at the Dome.

Always a delightful surprise at The Dome for food and drinks. For cocktails, one of the top three of my choice in Edinburgh with a good selection of classic and special and seasonal cocktails. It has now become a must-go spot for me to bring friends visiting Edinburgh. It provides a "balanced" food menu to cater for most dietary requirements. Very good value for money. Lovely atmospheric quality not only for Christmas. Well-preserved and maintained architecture inside and outside.

Lovely place and lovely staff members … I loved the fancy decorations, all staff members were helpful, respectful and friendly. There’s only one thing i wish they had on the menu which is a halal options, or even a halal sign next to the veggie options, pastas etc.. just to make it easier to order. I absolutely will be back.
