The Bon Vivant - Edinburgh - Photo album

A nice find! Great food, a big selection of drinks and fast service. Everything we tried was tasty and reasonably priced. Staff was polite and attentive. The only downside is that it can become quite noisy. I would visit again though!
Excellent food and a super nice vibe inside this well decorated Edinburgh bistro. We ate here early one Saturday evening and it was quite rowdy at first but it quietened down a little which was appreciated. The haggis bites as a starter were delicious! Both mains and deserts were well received too.
Delicious Scottish fare, with unique twists to suit any pallet. But the best kept secret are the cocktails and beer selection. Highly recommend
Good cocktails and food. Coravin is used for many of the wines so there are more interesting bottles open to try. Can be a bit loud so if you want a quiet meal this probably isn't the place. The candle lights adds to the ambience.
We ate here after our wedding ceremony. Atmosphere was ideal, drinks were fantastic - we had a range of cocktails, beers and wine. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were super friendly and attentive. Ben was fantastic throughout the whole process, great at replying to my emails from booki
The Bon Vivant was a nice discovery in the Edinburgh dining experience. One of the best places for dinner with a relaxed atmosphere and candle lights. The place is not too big so I would recommend booking in advance. The charcuterie board for 2, the bon bons and the mushrooms were my favorites. The
Glass of champagne on arrival for the 2 of us a starter and main course each and I had dessert. We had a carafe of wine between us plus another glass each. Bill came to £144.00. If you're looking for a quiet dining venue this isn't for you. We love it, the food is great and the service friendly.
One of the best meals we’ve had in a while! Cozy & cool vibe with great service too.
Pro: Fab atmosphere, cheery staff, good food (although venison wasn’t as tender as would have liked). Con: House red very mundane. No Sauternes, despite being on the printed dessert list. Great experience overall, though.
Had lunch here and really enjoyed the experience. The service was excellent and the staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was amazing and they made an extra effort to make sure my lactose intolerant guest was catered for. Would definitely recommend this place for dinner and lunch but woul
The sun was setting as I walked along to Bon Vivant this Friday night, did I have a reservation? No. Yet, they made space for us, the staff were so welcoming and helped us choose from both the wine and the dinner menu. They clearly know their wines and are passionate about you having a great experi
Absolutely incredible Sunday roast! I loved selecting my wine and scotch next door paired with my roast selection. If you haven’t partaken in Sunday roasts in the UK yet, this is among the best spots to do so. Great food great drinks, great service! Give this place a try! You won’t regret it!
The vibe was incredible in the cozy little restaurant. The bar was very impressive. My food was excellent, loved my steak. We all loved the starters too. Only downside was that one of my friends did order some other meat dish which was very over cooked, making it too tough to eat about 1/3 of it (i
Great food and all around experience!! We loved the ‘bites’ selection and the flavours of each we tired were amazing (sweet potato samosas and haggis bon bons👌🏼). Another highlight was the carrot cake with cream cheese sorbet and candied carrots. A fun twist on a classic. Perfect date spot with the
I accidentally came across this place ... inside there is a very pleasant atmosphere .. cozy tables lit by candles. I was very tired and special thanks to the waiter Simeon - he was very attentive and responsive. On his recommendation, I ordered a medium rare steak with anchovy sauce and dessert. It
Love the edgy romantic candle lit vibes. Food is good as always, bites are very well done. Must try haggis bonbons (theirs has a more meaty complex profile with beef offal mixed in as well) and mackerel pate. Their whisky list has expanded a lot with some very interesting trade only finds too. Fair
We didn’t have a booking but they managed to squeeze us in for an hour. The mulled wine was delicious, the appetizers were excellent. We shared a main - the venison and it was fantastic.
