Absolutely outstanding, we went in casual and although this is a very classy restaurant we were made to feel at home, champagne recommended was on the money from our waiter, and the service overall was informative and swift.
My only gripe would be to point out that cutlery is very important when dining. I want to use nice quality cutlery when I’m eating fine dining food, I know how I might sound however I feel it makes the whole experience better. Your cutlery seemed old and well used, when my husband asked for a better knife he was handed a Robert Welch one that was far better. Anyway yes I think it would be a great idea to provide better cutlery.
We would absolutely recommend this restaurant and we would absolutely come back.
Gaucho is one of the best steak restaurants in Edinburgh and I absolutely love it. The food is pretty good however the service is a bit slow. The staff are super professional and lovely. If you have a special occasion, you should have Gaucho on top of your list. The truffle Mac and cheese is phenomenal and so is the Burrata.
I had a very bad experience at the London Piccadilly branch. I wanted to give the Edinburgh branch a chance. And I'm glad I did. I ordered ribeye steak Medim well. The steak was really good and tasty. The draft beer wasn't tasty as they didn't clean the beer chutes. So Noam I ordered a bottle. The service is better than their other branches… Overall it was a good experience, no regrets. Thanks.
My partner and I ate here last Sunday for dinner and had a lovely evening. Food was amazing and service was brilliant! Ray our server was the best! We had a brilliant time chatting with him!

Setting was elegant and pleasant. All staff very nice with the perfect waitress, Wiola. My starter was exceptional- Sautéed Prawns. My two sides were good - BBQ Baby Gem was nice but the mashed potatoes were uninspiring. My steak was a 300 gram Ancho ribeye. I ordered the steak to be cooked medium rare. It was actually cooked a bit beyond Medium. Waitress agreed it was not medium after asking me to cut more into the center of the steak. She offered to replace it but I can eat medium and did not want to trouble them. I did not say anything else other than the food was good. The Malb Susana Baltic Signature wine was very pleasing and mellow. The Dulce de leche cheesecake was very good, small but the perfect size. To my surprise when my bill came the waitress had reduced the steak price by 16.88 £. A smart salvage by the waitress!

Wonderful food, wonderful services from start to finish. The server had given a comprehensive introduction of the meat cut and the menu, so that I could order exactly what I fancied that evening. The steak tartare had the exact ratio of fat for my liking.
The sirloin steak turned out to be a beautiful pair of wings to look at. This had been something extraordinary to expect going to a steak house. Dessert was a bit too big for me, but tasted great with so many different textures of chocolate in one plate.
Called in after visiting the disappointing Christmas Market. Was looking for a restaurant that would accommodate a small dog, and so after a short walk arrived. Was warmly greeted by the young lady on the reservations.
The dining area is well presented, and the waiter was extremely attentive with a bowl of water for my four-legged companion before explaining about all the cuts of meat they can offer.
The food was fantastic, steaks cooked to perfection with sauces that complimented and enhanced the flavour, and worth every penny, as was the cocktails. I highly recommend a visit. I doubt you'll be disappointed. Look forward to our next visit.
I visited Gaucho Edinburgh with my partner who had proposed to me the day before; he'd let the restaurant know ahead and they absolutely made our celebratory meal perfect. We were greeted by friendly staff all round and were given complimentary Argentinian sparkling wine for our engagement before our meal and a congratulations with dessert chocolate at the end. Our server, Wiola, was absolutely brilliant and so attentive, making our experience even more personal and memorable. The food itself was incredible - the best steakhouse meal I've had. The sample sharing platter of all of the steaks was delicious and such a great option for anyone wanting to try a bit of everything. Our starter empanadas were equally delicious. Could not fault the food or service at all and we couldn't be more grateful for the whole experience. Thank you!!!

Our meal at Gaucho yesterday was fantastic - one of the best steaks I've ever had.
Your waiter, Yannis, in particular was very attentive, very informative, and explained the selection of meats very well.
This is my 2nd visit and was even better than the last - a definite for carnivores!
Dinner for two. Lovely surroundings and very attentive, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Food was delicious. The only issue I had was allowing dogs. Not necessary. Left at 7.10pm whilst a party came in with a dog. I would not have been happy sitting next to their table. Unlikely to go back in the likelihood dogs will be in the restaurant. How many dogs will be allowed at any one time?
