Tucked away in the centre of Rose Street lies Veeno, a fairly new Italian wine cafe; and I say cafe because its all very informal, relaxed and you can enjoy their Italian wines at your leisure. What they do best is wine tasting experiences whether it be for 2 people or 20 people where they pair their award-winning Italian wines from their own Caruso & Minini vineyard in Sicily with their spuntini appetisers (sharing platters) where all the meats, cheeses and breads are sourced from the best quality producers in Italy.
I stumbled upon this hidden wine/food gem while exploring the streets of Edinburgh. What an incredible find! Firstly, the service is so warm and welcoming. The beautiful Natalie served me. Secondly, there is such a wide array of wines to choose from - every wine palate will find their favorite. Thirdly, the food is incredible. I did the red wine and food pairing - so delicious!!!! An absolute experience from beginning to end!
I wouldn’t usually leave a review of places, but we had the most wonderful evening at Veeno. The service was exemplary and best of all they are dog friendly! We had the “Taste of Sicily” wine tasting with Italian sharing board. The wines and food were delicious and it even came with dessert. Can’t wait to go back!
We visited Veeno twice during our trip to Edinburgh, and thoroughly enjoyed both occasions. The food was good, especially the bruschettas and ravioli. Pizzas were on point. The wine selection was great and they recommend pairings on the menu. The cheese board was so so, I probably wouldn’t order that again, but overall a good experience.
My husband and I enjoyed a Italian afternoon tea here. It was absolutely delicious. I also had a cocktail which was delicious. The staff were really nice and very attentive. If you get chance then book afternoon tea here, it's wonderful.
Had such an amazing pizza here last night accompanied by a lovely glass of wine , I felt I needed to leave a review. Its just a small place but the atmosphere and the food are so good . The service was friendly too. All in all , highly recommended.

Small place. Tasting platter was nice but small portions. Wine accompaniments were very nice. Music did not add to the atmosphere at all. Service was good.
Went for the Sicilian Wine Tasting which was a Christmas gift and did not disappoint. The lady who would guiding us through the experience was amazing and the food and wine were fab. Great value for money and will be back. Thank you!
Used a voucher for a Sicilian wine tasting experience and wasn't disappointed. Staff were so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the wines. Food platter to go with it to complement the wines. Superb in every way. Tasted 2 white, 1 rose and 2 red wines. All brilliant. Worth a visit on it's own. Well done Veeno Edinburgh
We were visiting the city for a birthday and booked this place not really knowing what to expect and it was absolutely fantastic. We had the wine and cheese experience and it was amazing, so much so we have found one nearer home so we can give that one a try. I really hope it's as good as this one.
One of our family members is quite a picky eater and they were so accommodating. This added to our Amazing experience thank you and when we next visit Edinburgh this place will be the first thing we book
We made reservation online (recommended) and came for dinner on our last night in Edinburgh. We started with a wine flight, but ordered it without the food that comes with it on their menu. We had some very good wines!
For dinner, I had the arrabiata penne and my wife had lasagna. Both were excellent and the portions were more than enough.
The service was friendly, prompt and helpful. Nice atmosphere here. Would come again if ever nearby in the future.
A nice and cozy place. Visited with family for a chilled Saturday evening drink and food. We had no reservations but they were accommodating and found a table for us. Amazing, attentive service from Stephen all evening, joking and laughing with us, as well as giving great recommendations. A range of wines to choose. The food menu is great and is tasty and delicious. Really enjoyed the evening, thanks Veeno team!
Food and gin was fab. We went for the afternoon tea. It was really quiet as the weather was,horrific abd ut was a Sunday afternoon but still a good atmosphere. I've been before, and the food is lovely.
Amazing Italian Food, delicious deserts and a variety of wines that go well with the food. Nice Staff who is very forthcoming attentive while not being persistent. Definitely recommend coming here.

Fantastic food and service. We booked The Finest Italian Wine tasting and we were served by Natalie. She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend.
Staff are fantastic! We had a lovely time sampling the wine menu… would recommend booking a wine experience as the staff are great at explaining the wines and processes used to produce them… we will be back! Also dog friendly 🐶
Great pre-marathon carb-loading session! The service was generally very good and hospitable, with the friendly waitress helping us to make informed decisions about what dishes to have.
The menu seems limited for dinner but this is a place that does a shorter menu very well: the pasta was delicious - all fresh and all very good portions.
Knocked a star off because they forgot to make one of our dishes and instead of just admitting it, they were going to serve it up 5 minutes before they wanted the table back, until we insisted they cancelled it.
On the whole though, a great experience and would return.

Each wine is perfectly paired with a cheese or smoked meat. The sharing board had delicious treats, such as fig jam with hot bread. Tiramisu served with dessert wine was absolutely divine.
Our host was very friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. We will definitely be back.
