Ate here last night, gorgeous food..had to have an extra starter as couldn't make my mind up, both the aubergine and scallops were delicious..Hubbie loved his meal also. The service was excellent also, our waitress was just lovely and she knew the menu...something I'm finding a rarity nowadays! Would highly recommend

Asti is a lovely addition to the Broughton food scene and the only Italian restaurant on the strip. I've been a few times since it opened 3, 4 years ago? Prices are decent, but the only thing I have to criticise is the fact that menu never changes.
Their butternut squash risotto is nearly as good as mine. 😉
We've been to Asti now a few times and each time the food is fantastic. They offer a wide range of dishes and there really is something for everyone. Each day there is a number of specials on the board but even their regular menu has plenty of tasty offerings. The pasta is always perfectly cooked and sauces full of flavour. The risotto is a healthy serving and after starters and main we'd be pretty surprised if you can manage dessert. They also have a fantastic wine menu.
Only one negative is their service. It can be so hit or miss and very much depends on how busy it is. But they do acknowledge is something is taking longer than it should and make amends with a limoncello before you go. Definitely book ahead if your planning on visiting at the weekend.
I absolutely loved this place! Those nights were you decide to go for dinner with a friend and make a spontaneous decision...? This was our walk in and lucky for us on Friday they had a table for two. The staff were absolutely charming and the ambience was just lovely. So many amazing choices on the menu I actually could have eaten everything and the specials board also had an amazing choice. We decided to share a lovely bottle of Rose and ended up having a starter and a main from the specials board. I am a HUGE fan of arancinis and having a wonderful fiancé who makes them to absolute perfection, I decided to put theirs to the test. The arancini arrived and it was one big portion sat in a lovely tomato based sauce. (Please see photo) It was perfect and exactly how I like them. For my main course I had a beautiful home made ravioli filled with prawns and scallops and oh my word it was like being back in Italy. I ate everything on my plate and was absolutely stuffed, but nothing a limoncello wouldn't fix :-) Perfect, I will definitely be back!
Asti! Asti! Have been here for brunch, coffee meetings, lunch and dinners. This place is besti-asti! Fantastic Italian food every time!!!!
You can't even decide what to have from their al la carte menu...pasta..or anti pasti..or..risotto.... Or pizza??? No no..ravioli. Yum... No no the specials board!!! What to have???!
Don't fear peeps, everything here is delicious! I have tried their pasta, their pate, their bread, their antipasti, their ravioli, their risotto..seafood...coffee....wine...
This place does not fail you. Their impeccable service and their skilled chef makes you feel right in Italy. The atmosphere here is relaxed and gentle with great seating areas. Best thing is when you walk in, you see the specials board then your eyes fall on the desert counter. Home made deserts. Wow. Wow. Eat me now it screams to me!
I would highly recommend this restaurant and have sat here with celebs and they too love this place. Can't beat Asti.
One thing...only one small major thing..we feel the name doesn't reflect what the restaurant is about. Even if it was called Broughton's Italian it has a nicer appeal. Asti the name... I'm unsure of.
Nice Italian food, nice staff. Service was a bit slow, but it was worth it, because food was excellent and well prepared. I really liked the goat's cheese with mushrooms and the ravioli. The affogatto was great too.
The food really is excellent. We had all the appetisers because we were hungry and also kind of greedy and they were wonderful. The pasta is spot on. Fabulous flavours, cooked perfectly, and the Sangiovese is a beaut for the price. helpful, friendly staff too and weirdly quiet considering how good it is.
Pleasant atmosphere, excellent food with good seasonal ingredients.
Nice wee Italian on broughton street. Reasonably priced and food was very tasty, I had rice croquettes for starter and gnocchi for main and both were delicious and decent portions. Could not fault the service.
We went early in the new year on a Tuesday night so it was only us there so it wasn't a great atmosphere but I suppose that's due to the time of year and day we went. That and the furniture and cold rooms maybe added to the surroundings not feeling homely.
Nonetheless though an enjoyable meal.
Absolutely delicious!!
Impeccable service!!
Lovely views from the rear room!!
A cozy a high quality breakfast, coffee was fantastic, smoked salmon very tasty and eggs cooked to perfection!
Best breakfast we've had in Edinburgh so far!

Went for dinner with friends and the owner Ricky made us feel so welcome. He recommended we have antipasti for starter to share. It was amazing. The gluten free seafood pasta so tasty. We were treated to a lemoncello to finish. I don't think this will be my last visit.
Thank your again Ricky for making us feel so welcome
Super good experience! Good service, kind waitress, made good suggestions. The risotto with chicken was out of this world, tasted like the best you can get in Rome. Cosy place, and the prices were very fair. Would recommend 5/5.
On a business trip up to Edinburgh and popped into Asti due to its location from the office.
Very quaint little Italian with few people for the lunch time. Attentive staff providing helpful information during the the visit.
The food was delicious, with spicy minestrone to start, followed by linguine and finished with carrot cake. The service was very fast and service staff were polite and helpful.
Enjoyable meal and reasonably priced with the set lunch menu.
I visited here as a single diner travelling for work and I could not have picked a nicer restaurant for my meal. Staff were attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. The lasagne was the best I have eaten. Price wise very reasonable given the quality of the food. Highly recommend.
I celebrated my 60th birthday here with family. Fabulous food, great service, wonderful atmosphere and not rushed. We've all been before tonight and wouldn't hesitate to come back.

If you're looking for a coffee and croissant or a full blown meal, this is a great place to drop in to. No parking handy so if you're touring about using buses or walking it's best. Service and food, very good!
Fabulous meal, great GF options, staff were attentive and lovely. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for good value, great service and interesting varied menu. We will be returning soon!
Had an excellent evening meal on Saturday December 15th as a group of us were out celebrating my daughter's 22nd birthday! Food was superb, as usual, service was very good. Many thanks to masterchef Ricardo in the kitchen and the rest of his team.
Highly recommended
Shall return again soon
Fantastic food. Just cannot commend the staff enough for how great they were with our children. Would highly recommend for an early, easy dinner with the family.
The food tastes amazing. Receiving your main course can be quite slow, but for the quality and ingredients it's well worth the wait. The waitstaff are very nice and friendly.
I found Asti by searching Trip advisor and all the top reviews encouraged me to try it. Me and two guests visited Edinburgh for the weekend and were new to the area and wanted to enjoy nice food.
Had fantastic food and beers. Quality of food was fantastic and service was good also. Well located and walkable distance from Royal Mile
Will possibly return if I visit endiburgh again.
Edinburgh has lots of Italian restaurants and by and large they are ordinary but this one is BRILLIANT. They know how to make a proper negroni, the wine list is good and well priced and the food is authentic and incredibly good value. It’s quite cosy so try and book in advance.
We wanted Italian! We struck it right! Homemade Foccacia, excellent lasagne, made to order linguine and prawns....and exquisite tarimisu... we are from the San Francisco area where Italian is a staple... this restaurant and its friendly staff was at least as good as at home! Cozy environment, goid wines... give it a try!
