Wonderful restaurant with a relaxed bistro type atmosphere. So glad we came across this place the other day. The food was delicious, the seafood linguine was a perfect portion and had a light flavorful sauce. Not overpowering or heavy. The chocolate fondant dessert was great, it was a lava cake with a scoop of ice cream. Service was super friendly and impeccable. Would highly recommend this restaurant!

Tasty! We were staying at the Fraser suites next door so had dinner here. We had a table in the window ( though not much of a view). Complimentary water served, thank you. Nice cocktail list with something for everybody stuck to the old faithful French Martini... can't go wrong. Food menu is just the right size not too much choice though not much for the veggie/ vegan. Food itself was prepared and served quickly and tasted great, scallops were a particular highlight as was the lobster. You can see from the pics of the tomato and mozzarella salad not sure if they ran out of buffalo tomato as got a random couple of small tomato bits, seemed odd but tasted fine. Desserts paled a bit in comparison to the rest of the food, nothing standout. Could probably jazz this up a little. Would I recommend it......Yes I would. Would I go back ......Yes I would.

Had a wonderful pre-birthday experience here with the family and would highly recommend it. We had oysters, a Scottish egg, duck, and salmon along with Panna cotta and chocolate parfait for dessert.

Delicious food without reasonable prices. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The scotch egg starter was possibly the best starter I've ever had. Steak was cooked perfectly. Stylish decor with casual feel. Would highly recommend.

We happened by Stocks while roaming a bit. Climbed up a huge mass of stairs, and there it was. I'm so happy we stopped in. The interior was cute and stylish, and it was fun just looking around while we waited. My husband and I both had the fish, was delicious. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. My husband is celiac, and the waiter was able to tell us right away which options were gluten-free, which is always such a relief. A great way to end a long day of sightseeing.

Such a wonderful place! Had the most perfect evening meal here for our wedding anniversary! The service was excellent! We were even given complimentary glass of champagne each on arrival, such a nice suprise & the perfect romantic table had been reserved for us also. The food & wine was delicious and we both enjoyed very much! (The lamb was 👌) The staff, ambiance and whole experience was just what we wanted for our evening. Fully recommend and can’t wait to return one day! (Also good covid measures in place)

Food was exquisite. Had the lamb dinner, and it was cooked to perfection. Customer service was incredible, and the staff was amazing. Didn't think I'd go to Edinburgh for the food, but this will be one of my favorite memories of visiting. Definitely would recommend, and would go to again in the future.

Delicious food and friendly service. We had the oysters, scallops and surf & turf. The flavours on all were delicious. Everything was perfectly cooked. One of the best steaks I’ve had in a while. Will be back.

Nice atmosphere, great service, a nice variety on the menu, with limited but delicious choices. We had a rich wild onion soup, which was covered with fresh dough and baked. The lemon thyme chicken was out of this world. The lamb and venison everyone raved about. Just 2 blocks from Edinburgh Castle it was a great find! Highly recommended!

It was a lovely ambience matched by tasty and lovely food. I had the tomato with courgettes and scallops with seasonal greens and they were delicious. The wine list could be made to be more interesting , but in the midst of rather limited options of food in the Old Town this place stands out serving light and delicious food . I would definitely recommend it .

Great spot for dinner on a night on the town. We had the scallop, and scotch egg to start, followed with venison ragu and duck breast, finished by sharing the mango creme brule. The food was cooked well, and the service was quick and polite. The staff seemed very accommodating to other tables.

Very good food. Lovely ambiance. Attentive but unobtrusive service. Decor also good Very central allocation. My only issue was the door - on a cold night, make sure you get a table distant from the door on the upper level. We will go back.

Fantastic location, good selection of beers. We sat outside during the Fringe and had the best time people watching and listening to the street music. The staff were friendly and the bar was decked out nicely and sensitively to this old building. A great place to start the royal mile.

Sometimes you do not expect anything really amazing from restaurants at touristic places. Especially if they offer you some special rates for number of courses. But sea food was unbelievable tasty and fresh. It is when you would likely come back again next day. And don‘ t forget to ask if you would like to eat something more that they have in menu.

Fantastic food and value for money. It was very quiet but it was horrible weather and the town was quiet. We had the lunch set menu. The mussels were superb and the stark frites was the same. Will be back.
