Locale accogliente, personale italiano molto gentile.
Visited la piazza on a recent trip to Edinburgh. The ambience is quite classy and luckily for us the place wasn't crowded on a Sunday afternoon. We went with the selection of breads for starters. The garlic bread and bruschetta in this were absolutely yummy. For mains we went with a penne arrabbiata and Quattro formaggi pizza. Both the dishes were fantastic with huge portion size. Too stuffed to try desert. All in all a lovely place to have a quiet meal.Cheers!!!
I've been here couple times in the past and I've never been dissapointed. Conveniently located on West End so just a short walk from the New Town, the restaurant is very big and offers a great selection of Italian dishes. Due to a large space it feels a lot more private than in most of the restaurants in Edinburgh which are quite small. You can actually have a conversation without anyone being too close to you. If you're a big group they can accomodate you as well without a problem. A la carte menu is very reasonable and you can find a great variety of pizzas and pastas. As for the lunch menu it's £11.95 for two courses which is very reasonable. You should definitely try La Piazza if you love Italian food and want to enjoy it in a very beautiful restaurant.
Fantastic food wide selection and great service. Nothing is too much trouble and always done with a smile. Can't recommend this place enough.
I've never had a bad meal at La Piazza, actually I've not even had an average meal, it's always been great. My personal favourite is the penne casareccia, but theis pizzas are great.
I have been going to la piazza for years and I can honestly say that this is the best italian in edinburgh. You will not find service quite like it, and they will continuously bend over backwards to please you. The menu is varied, including all traditonal Italian dishes, extremely good value for money and they will make an effort to give you advice if you need it. I can recommend the tortelloni con tartfuo, the spaghetti vongole, and the extensive wine selection. A hidden gem in the westend.
Nice place!. Really liked the selection on the menu - lots to choose from. The place has a nice, smart appearance and good atmosphere. Nice wines available too. The food was really tasty and filling. Only thing is some dishes were served too cold and the waiter disagreed with us on that rather than arranging for it to be warmed up. That was minor though. Good place for a nice meal.
Went here for a pizza before heading out for drinks in Edinburgh. It was really busy and a good atmosphere in the restaurant! They had told us they'd need the table back within an hour so we had to make our choices quickly but that was fine as we were just having a quick bite! The pizza was good and the service was very friendly, there wasn't an empty table in the house which is always a good sign!
Very good resturant , Nice food one of the best Pizza I have ,Fantastic service .. Service was really good ... Will like to visit again if ever visited Edinburgh again.
Mama Mia! It is wonderful here! The food is served in good time but with the best smiling servers around. The menu is full of ideas and the atmosphere has different feelings depending where you sit. Lovely!
Best Authentic Italian Food in Edinburgh. you really feel as if you are in Italy. Menu has lots of amazing options to choose from. Amazing service and fabulous ambience. I have come here for a few birthday celebrations over the years and I have always had a really really good time. La Piazza definitely ticks all the boxes!
Had the most delicious pasta and pizza for lunch on a rainy afternoon. The service was fantastic and the restaurant is beautifully set up. It’s a must visit if you’re in Edinburgh ☺️
Great food and service. Gnocchi was amazing!
Great service and great food.
I travel to Italy often and food was just like what I get in Italy or better.
This place is fantastic. It’s busy for good reason- I recommend making reservations- we were lucky to get in. We had 2 salads, shared a pizza & 2 lovely glasses of wine (Montepulciano) & a bottle of San Pelegríno sparkling water for a reasonable price. My friend had the beetroot, goat cheese & walnut salad & it was perfect. I had the insalata pomodrino & it was also just what I wanted. We shared a Bufalina pizza & it hit the spot! The wine, of course, was lovely. This place has a great, busy vibe. I lived in Italy for several years; I felt like I was back. I used some of my (forgotten) Italian & the waiter was kind. Highly recommend this restaurant - we would go back in a heart beat!
Affordable lunch. Fresh seafood and fresh pasta. Staff were very friendly.
Brilliant food with wide range of choices in food and drinks. Decent pricing as per the location. Service was a bit let down. Felt rushed even though the restaurant was half empty. Will go again though but just for food as it was full of flavours.
Delicious meal, especially happy with so many gluten free options (Bread, starters, pasta and pizza) Our party of 7 people had a mix of dishes (various starters, pizzas, pastas, gluten free pasta and desserts) and all really enjoyed them. Good service and nice location/atmosphere too. We'll definitely be back!
Lovely place just off the main promenade. Separate vegan menu with a few options for each course, knowledgeable staff. Booze is expensive but otherwise a lovely evening spent.
We had the sausage and rosemary pizza and the rocket salad to share.
It far exceeded our expectation.
Service was perfect and everything was super clean.
The table by the window is great to people watch on a grey day.
Completely recommend

So what can we say.... having travelled through the Italy, sampling the delicious local cuisine, we can confidently state from experience that La Piazza brings authentic Italian food to the heart of Edinburgh.
Incredible starters, flavoursome pizza, perfectly cooked pasta with mouth watering sauces. Be careful as it's so tasty you will over order as the meals are that good!
Highly recommended this place! Also, the staff are fantastic, even though the place was stacked, they were unflustered and looked after all their clients as if it was second nature.
Hats off to everyone at La Piazza..... Well done!
There again last night for our anniversary meal. As usual the service was superb, the food was outstanding and the welcome we received was very much appreciated. Still up there as our favourite Italian in Edinburgh.
Nice restaurant- we had our fill of Irish restaurants and wanted some Italian. Food was decent a little salty and nothing fancy.
Cozy restaurant & great Italian cuisine! Highly recommend Rigatoni or Pizza!
The place is nice, and the food very good. I was impressed by the quality of the italian cuisine, especially the lasagne.
Worth going there for a satisfying dinner.
For our first night in Edinburgh we choose to eat at La Piazza and it has been a wonderful experience.
The restaurant was cosy and the waiters that looked after us were friendly and helpful. We had a bottle of Nero d’Avola, a couple of starters to share and two pasta dishes which we loved (the paccheri pistacchio e gamberi and the orecchiette con salsiccia).
The desserts were amazing as well and all this for a more than fair price.
Would definitely recommend.
Dropped in for an evening meal on Friday evening, hadn't booked so took a chance and they kindly squeezed us in. The meals was excellent, the staff were very friendly and attentive and there was a wonderful buzz about the place. I had the Gnocchetti alla Trapanese which was excellent. We really enjoyed the meal and have already recommended it to others. We will be back next time we have a trip up to Edinburgh.
We had a lovely evening here at La Piazza. The service is outstanding, the guys doing an amazing job. Wine glass never empty, they are checking on every dish that has been served if you liked it. And all of them were nice and friendly, not only one of them.
The food was also great. They have a huge selection on the menu. I had the mozzarella spinach balls and the pumpkin ravioli, my boyfriend the house pizza. Both very good and fresh, nice quality. I would recommend this place and come again.
Genuinely fantastic restaurant all round. Lovely friendly staff, real Italian ingredients and food cooked to perfection.
Good selection of wine to suit all budgets. Fresh pasta is fantastic, dishes not overly expensive but slightly above standard reflected in the quality.
