Another lovely visit to a favourite restaurant
Everything here is always spot on. Everyone loves the food and we always have a great lunch or dinner. First choice when we have visitors.
Nice ambience and friendly & polite staff.
Got a seating immediately. The staff advices what to order which was perfect for us.
Located on the main road of leith.
Good Italian food.
Great pizzas, good service. Good Wood fired pizzas. The mushroom and asparagus ravioli was very ok. Can be avoided. Bruschetta was nice and fresh.
The smell of the food will hit you before you see the building. Absolutely the best pizza I've ever eaten, and the friendliest staff. I've never been to Italy, so I don't know how it compares, but if it is anything close to as good, I'll buy a plane ticket soon. Biggest regret is not saving room for dessert. Get the risotto balls!!!
We had booked a table for 18:30, but got there about 20 minutes earlier. We thought we might have to go away and come back, but the staff were very helpful and showed us to our table straight away.
We shared the Bruschetta Tartufata which was really nice and then I had the Zorba Il Grecco (Greek salad) pizza, which was so good! The toppings were lovely and there was a generous amount of feta cheese on it. I only wish it was available from La Favorita Delivered in Portobello so that I could have it more often! (Please add it to the menu!)
We also shared a bottle of wine, we were impressed at how attentive the staff were at filling our glasses as they were passing the table.
One of the best restaurant for the Pizza in Edinburgh. I've been here three times and the Pizza was always good. The staff is italian and they use italian ingredient to make Pizza. The price is good. I suggest you this restaurant.
Their pizzas are the benchmark of quality in our house. Everywhere we go on trips or holidays abroad la favorita pizzas are what we always compare against and they always win the looks and most importantly taste tests. The calzone is fantastic and they always make it just the way I want it. Kids meals are very good and cheap for the size and quality. Always busy and the staff are great with our kids.
Authentic home-style food with a professional touch of exquisitely Italian ingredients, Italian staff and interiors that heightened the perfect meal. A special mention for the insanely delish desserts which we wiped out!
Love love love. Authentic homely Italian food. Extremely friendly and lovely staff and they made the the whole experience so much better. The food was just fantastic and we wiped every plate clean.
We were really hungry so we skipped the starters and went straight for the mains. Ordered the risotto, chicken Milanese and asparagus and ricotta tortellini. Every single dish was delicious and would definitely go back here.
For dessert order the tiramisu and the gnocchi chocolate. Yum!
Whenever I’m in in Leith and in need of a pizza fix, I always make a beeline for La Favorita in Leith Walk. Owned by local Italian restaurant chain Vittoria Group, this restaurant is famous for serving up authentic Italian pizza. But, on a recent trip, I discovered the many other culinary delights “La Fav” has up its sleeve!

A Safe Bet. Finally made the long trek down Leith Walk to this recently refurbished restaurant. I'm not so keen on the dark grey walls that everyone seems to be doing but it's nicely done. In the door and guided to a table at the window. I opted for their lunch deal and ordered antipasti and a pizza. The starter was lovely. A generous selection of cheeses, meats and salad with olives. The pizza was also superb with it's perfectly cooked base and creamy mozzarella. The service was excellent with the waitress (Karen) buzzing around the tables with enthusiasm and a smile. In all, a good visit and recommended.
Simply the best. Without argument the best pizza in Edinburgh, I'm hooked. The pizzas are delicious, I'm currently working my way through their menu.......i'll let you know how I get on
La favourita is the best Italian I have ever been to, its so good I keep going back time after time, staff are great 5* and food 5*, also we have two young children and they are brilliant with them

This is the best Italian pizza in town. Staff very friendly. Pizzas are stone baked in a wood fired oven. Families are really well catered for. The Italian staff love the kids and nothing is too much trouble. Must get your self here if you get the chance.
Our new Favorita. My wife and I recently had supper there (23rd August) despite not booking and it being the middle of the Festival they still managed a table for two.
Our pizzas were superb (smoked salmon and prawn) and (varied mushroom/ vegetables) - so enormous we had to take half home to eat later.
Don't really live close enough to make this a carry out venue - but do visit Edinburgh often enough to make this a new place to eat often.
It is justifiably busy with attentive and polite waiting staff.

Pizza! Really, Really Good Pizza!. I could talk about the bright, unfussy dining room, the very decent range of pasta & salad dishes, or the wonderful tiramisu to share, but La Favorita is about one thing; pizza of the highest calibre. I am not an adventurous spirit when it comes to pizza, I know what I like & I like what I know... except at La Favorita. I try pizzas with spinach & egg, pork sausage & potatoes and every time they are amazing. With a proper, wood fired oven they crank out these circles of loveliness, quick enough to make this a quick stop if you want it, but service is good so you never feel rushed if you want to linger. They are the only restaurant in Britain where I have encountered a good calzone. It pains me that I don't live close enough for them to deliver, but no trip to the bottom of Leith Walk is complete without a stop here.
Hmmmm. If you like tali then this is worth a visit, good wholesome food at very affordable prices. Best to book a table though.
After being in Italy twice this year I can safely say it was one of the nicest meals I have ever had. My pizza was so refreshingly good and my wifes pasta was beyond her expectations!! If your ever in Edinburgh look it up and enjoy the experience!! Oh and the staffs attentiveness puts some service I've seen to shame!

We’ve ordered from La Favorita on a number of occasions and have never suffered from toppling toppings, we enjoy their pizzas and now tend to default to them when ordering. We love thin and crispy pizzas with nice fresh toppings, luckily this seems to be La Favorita’s speciality. We took advantage of the Offerta Tuesday deal, when ordering a 14 inch pizza you get a pasta dish for £1.99. The pizza of choice on this occasion was Diavolina, but we can also vouch for Vesuvio, our pasta came in the form of Spaghetti Carbonara. As always, the pizza was great. Not greasy, with a nice bit of spice running through it (although we did add a little fresh chilli of our own). The pasta was good value for £1.99 and was nice to have as a side order,
this place is still serving a quality product, so would be happy to recommend it to anyone looking for top-notch pizza

Here we are: the best pizza in town. Well, I'm Italian and this is the best pizza i tried so far in Edinburgh. Fresh products, no garlic (don't know why people think we put garlic everywhere), big portions, nice place. They have also delivery and it's so good having pizza at home when outside is creepy. I gave them 4 'cause I only like eating pizza here. My "favorita"? Capricciosa!
La Favourita serves excellent and huge pizzas, each one enough for 2... or 1 very greedy person.
There are many locations in Edinburgh, but we went to the one on Leith Walk..quite some time ago.
Skip the standard starters and go right for a pizza. The pizza with 2 salamis and the Capricciosa were both delicious. The tomato sauce they use is rather mild, letting the flavours of the other ingredients shine through....

We have never eaten in La Favorita but have had many of their take away pizzas. They have always been quick to deliver and we have had only one hiccup when they thought our order had just come through but someone had already cooked it and it was on way to being delivered and they then sent a second delivery of the same stuff. Pizzas are always freshly baked and arrive pretty warm. Their pasta dishes are also very tasty although I find the carbonara tough going, just because it is so rich and creamy. We tend to order when they have their two for Tuesday offer on or on a Wednesday when they have their pizza deal on as we find it's a little bit overpriced. But all in all it's not a bad place to grab a pizza.
Delicious authentic Italian cuisine,you don’t need to go to Italy to taste the best. Staff are friendly, definitely will go back when in Edinburgh.
For £11 you can get a starter and a main course. I got the caprese salad and a burger and it was delicious.
The salad was very fresh with a light olive oil taste. Burger was on point and the bread was made of potato, which is nice.

Excellent everything! Food, staff and Panna cotta! Even though they were very busy and we didn’t have reservation we had amazing food and time.
Been here 3 years ago and decided to visit again since I loved the food. Calzone and Lasagna are still very good! Definitely better than in other Italian cafés here! Waiters extremely attentive and service is fast. The café is currently open to visitors to dine in!!!
Super yum wood fired pizzas and they also have a build your own, option where you add whatever you like and scran down on your favourite combo. Highly recommended!! Sit in or take away right next door.
Service was wonderful and the pizza was amazing! One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had outside of Italy. If you’re getting sick of pub food and want to switch it up, this is a great place to go!

I’ve ordered from this particular restaurant numerous times and I’ve had absolutely no complaints!
The pizza base is absolutely delicious, a proper pizza, rather than the ‘bready’ types you usually get from non-authentic places.
The fact that it’s stone baked gives it a taste reminiscent of that of pizza I had in Italy and that makes me happy!
Not only the base but the toppings range from your regular cheese and pepperoni to more unusual ingredients that you don’t normally find in other stores, allowing you to have a bit more excitement on your pizza!
Their range of food products is great, not limited to just pizza with things such as arancini (which I HIGHLY recommend!) in the starters, pasta and salads!
I’m a big fan of the haggis pizza that you guys did for Burns’ night!! It was delicious!
I’m a bit sad you removed the Quattro Formaggio pizza from your menu though because I do love cheesy pizza! That was my favourite!
Had a pasta carbonara, was really good ,maybe bit dry but tasted amazing ,great portions .My Friend had a lasagna he loved it...Staff very nice and polite

Absolutely amazing italian food! One of the best ones we had outside of Italy so far. Portions were very big for the price you pay. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere inside the restaurant was really nice. I reccommend going there if you want to try delicious food.
