Dishoom what a spectacular must visit venue. We ran out of time to venture to this highly recommended spot in London so jumped on the opportunity to try it in Scotland and it did not disappoint. With a wildly impressive interior spread over several levels including a stunning downstairs bar and delicious food including such flavoursome chicken tikka that we ordered several there’s really nothing that you won’t love about this place (other than perhaps the waiter kind of tricking you into an non obligatory tip) and I would thoroughly recommend

While on vacations to Edinburgh, last day we had our dinner a dishoom most popular Indian restaurant serving limited options for vegetarians...
I tried
Jackfruit biryani..it was good the potatoes in it made it more flavorful.
Matar paneer and garlic naan.
I have been earlier at London restaurant which a little better than this one in tastes.
We order 3 kind of naan, lamb and chicken rice, grill prawn, lamp curry, and everything taste amazing, green sauce was special, mango lassi superb, we are all falling in love, must come again next tomorrow
It’s a great place to have some Indian cuisine at this Irani Bombay Restaurant.
Recommend dishes are house black dal and naan. Also, do try the tea. It’s authentic Indian.
Its a really great place to grab the most amazing black daal in the whole Edinburgh, the food is really great, the service is quite fast and the staff is super friendly and polite. Definitely a recommendation if searching for some great indian cuisine.
Had heard about this place and got to eat at my recent trip to Edinburgh. The menu is typical bombay street food style and the drinks options are really interesting. The kala khatta was too good.tried their pav bhaji, puri chole and matar paneer along with roomali roti and naan. The food lived upto its expectations.Seems a bit over priced compared to other Indian restaurants in the area but the quality of food and service makes up for it.
Bank holiday monday, I was expecting this place to be jam packed and was surprised to see empty tables! Food across all dishooms have the same standard and I was not disappointed.
This place is more than a home away from home. It redefines the experience of falling in love. The place has a persona which is already alive and vibrant, the food makes it swing and dance. Here is a team that goes an extra mile to make you feel absolutely at peace and loved. I don't think even the best of bars can come anywhere close to the kind of energy this place has and the warmth the people here offer. This is my experience here as a vegetarian. I'm sure non-vegetarians would want to set up camps here and live here for eternity 😀.. Bhai, India mein kabhi aisi jagah nahi dekhi. More love to the place, it's people and the amazing food.
Kal dosto Dishoom edinburgh gaya vha jaake maja agaya unka restaurant dekh k me dishoom ho gyaa pauji bhaji or samose ne swaad baandh dia h dishoom chicken tikka or sheekh kabab khaane me bahut swadisht the dil garden garden ho gya
Located very close to the Edinburgh Waverley station.
One gets the feel of being in a typical Parsi restaurant as soon as entering the restaurant and has a cellar seating too; stairs to the cellar has portraits explaining the Parsi culture and it's growth in India.
Has an open kitchen and outdoor seating.
The staff is very polite and felt so happy interacting with them(shame that I don't remember his name).
Food is very delicious and we get to experience the taste of India here but I felt the quantity should be increased a bit.
Recommend their Veg Jackfruit Biryani.
I don’t go to Dishoom for curries, because there’s definitely better places to eat Indian food. However they do have a great atmosphere and some really good Indian inspired dishes with a twist. Love their roomali rotis to mop up curries and kala khatta gola as a refreshing desert. Staff are always lively at all dishoom restaurant and Edinburgh branch didn’t disappoint. Actually I found this branch to be a slightly better experience.
if you are craving Indian food in Scotland then please do yourself a favour and go to this place. you will not regret it, This place has the most amazing Indian food that you can get in the whole of Scotland. A lot of variety when it comes to choosing the food. the service is on point, quality of food is top notch and they serve very quick as well .
A perfect place for north Indian craving. Yum h hum is a small delivery joint which serves a large variety of dishes. We had ordered food on a Saturday night and it was delicious. The delivery was on time.
Our rating :-
Food:- 4.5/5

Crsipy vegetable samosa so good for Edinburgh if hungry for Indian food then try this... One plate have three small PC's. Gravy are potato and peas
Very good ambience.
Good food and authentic Indian taste.
Friendly staff.
Good description on the menu.
Usually very busy so would advice booking in advance.
Haven't tried non-veg so review is limited to veg options.
Gun powder potatoes is a must try.
A cosy and chirpy place buzzing with foodholics ! Lunched here on my last day in Edinburgh on 22 August and loved what i ate - chole puri which reminded me of home and the pav bhaji which was done to perfection. Wish i had another day to try out the main course. Though i must mention UK food portion size are relatively less as compared to what we get here in Dubai and India in general..Hopefully they will open in Dubai soon and take that into consideration.
On a weekend trip to Edinburgh, while roaming around we decided to eat Indian at Dishoom. We had heard about Dishoom a lot in London. Well the place did manage to live up to the hype and expectations we had. Amazing and lively environment. The chutney set we got was amazing. And food tasted really well. We enjoyed our time there.
Dishoom is a paradise for vegetarians in Scotland. It has got the fine menu and delicious food. The service is excellent and ambience is also good.
What an experience! Fantastic. An absolute astronomical delight.
Loved the ambience, quirky wall arts, food, hospitality and every aspect that can be talked about.
I had a Panner tikka roll, pav bhaji and masala chai here. Nothing can rejuvenate you after a long tiring day than having your home kinda food far away from home.
Thanks to Dishoom Edinburgh team for such a wonderful experience.
I found Edinburgh the best city in entire UK. All thanks to the vibes and liveliness of the people. We ended up landing here craving for good food after a full day of sight seeing.
First thing I noticed on entering here was that the food was being prepared by Indians and hence, authentic.
The restaurant was almost full and we somehow managed to get a table. We ordered paneer roll and pav bhaji with Dhishoom special chai.
The food was simply ..... (No words to describe the ecstasy of eating your own food in a foreign land made in the most authentic way)..
Tea was typical masala chai good enough to make one calm and helped in rejuvenating.
Hospitality and service were top notch which was icing on the cake.
The place is a must for all Indian cuisine lovers.
One of the finest places in Edinburgh for Indian Cusines. The rustic ambience with signages written in Hindi Slangs are a charm. It makes you feel as if you are dining in India. The food is beyond delicious. Vada Pav & Berry Pulao is a must try here. I was there in Edinburgh during 2016-17 and when Dishoom opened its outlet in Edinburgh, I made a habit of dining here once in a fortnight.
Love the ambience here in Dishoom Edinburgh, not only that but the food was amazing too, so many options as well. Was so hard for me to pick but thank god the waiter helped well :)
We waited for an hour and it was totally worth it. The staff are friendly and while waiting for a table, I enjoyed my drink with their interesting snacks. Their dishes are delicious. The vegetable Samosas and Okra fries were a great choice for starters. The House Black Daal and Chicken Ruby shouldn't be missed. The flavour is exquisite and recommended with the cheese naan or the steamed rice. Best Indian I've ever had.
Serves the best Indian food in town!
Visited multiple times during my short visit. Loved the food Everytime. Ambience is good and staff are friendly !
Dishoom
A place which served Indian food ! After a tiring day travelling was not able to find Indian food ! But after lots of search found this restaurant ! Ambience is absolutely amazing themed like 90’s ! Started off with a cutting chai ! Typical taste of Cutting chai (Indian Taste ) ! The service was amazing ! But how could you forget the staff ! They were just amazing and they were so friendly and polite ! Thanks to dishoom for serving usnthe best food !

This is the most awesome Indian restaurant o have ever been to in UK. if you are in Edinburgh u have to eat here for a wonderful experience of Indian cuisine. The Hindi script and the ambience makes you feel in India, You can get ur favourite Thumbs up here... well u have the chuski too... ohh what an experience to have the right spices and taste... Experience it yourself and fall in love with Scotland in an Indian way.
There's always been a hype around Dishoom and I was glad to know they opened in Edinburgh too.
The decor is very parsi cafe and very eclectic. The menu, the bar, everything has a lot of charm. The service was really fast and friendly.
We ordered Dishoom chicken tikka which was superb, the seekh kebab which had good flavour and a chunky mince, the boti kebab was chewy and we sent it back in favour of the Dishoom chicken tikka. For main course we ordered sali boti which had good flavour but wasn't melt in your mouth. This makes you wish they used mutton and not lamb.
Overall great flavour, decor and service. The hype is worth it.
The food and ambiance is really good. Sometimes there can be a bit of a wait. But the food is really tasty however it is quite expensive and the portions are much smaller than you would expect them to be
One of the best Indian restaurant in India. The ambiance of the restaurant brings you the nostalgic feelings of Good old India to you. The food is really good especially Black Dhal and Biryani. Vada Paav is very and the taste will tempt you to have more of it. One of their main specialties is Prawn Koliwada they are delicious.
The food was incredible and the service and ambiance matched. We had a wonderful evening. Highly recommended. And go early to enjoy a few cocktails in the Permit Room. We enjoyed the riff on the Old Fashion.
Good good at reasonable price , cooked in typically indian style , tea was also prepared in indian stile. Would love to be there again. The taste was one of the best found in d city
The ambience was fabulous. The staff was friendly and courteous. We ordered pav bhaji , chole bhature, dal and roomali roti. The food was lovely and tasted like home.
Highly recommend this place. Original, amazing food and service. If you're ever in Edinburgh. Go! You won't be disappointed. The breakfast was amazing and I'm sure dinner will be nice too.
Great Indian food in a semi-casual setting. Lamb chops and raan are one of the best i have ever had. Black Daal was amazing as well. Wish they had more bread options though, especially with whole grains.
Quite enjoyed some Indian food here in Edinburgh after hearing good reviews in London. Well if I have to compare to the Indian food I have had all this while then it's alright but for U.K. Standard I should say it's really good. Please improve on your Biryani but otherwise all the other food we ordered were really good.
An unusual start to the day, Bacon on a freshly made Naan roll. Streaky bacon, cream cheese, herbs and a side of spicy sauce, delicious. I also had a Chocolate Chai with spice, that too was delicious.
Decorated in Asian style, the restaurant is spacious, bright & very welcoming. Staff are extremely friendly, and the homely smell of fresh Naan & insense, make you feel relaxed.
I personally love the decorative style, and will certainly be back to experience the main menus.

Had a great meal at Dishoom. Highly recommended for this who like to taste and sample many dishes, but with an Indian/Iran crossover flavor. Will definitely be back to try some more dishes
Although there can be a bit of a wait due to the popularity, it is definitely worth the wait as the food is delicious and service is excellent. It is very similar to Indian tapas - small dishes that are meant for sharing. We had the Murgh Malai and Masala Prawns, then got the house black Daal and some garlic naan bread to go with the Daal. Very tasty and a nice spice to the dishes. There are quite a few dishes to choose from so I'll definitely be coming back to try out as many as possible. The bar downstairs is also really nice and definitely worth checking out for some post meal cocktails.
I can't believe this place isn't rated more highly. Let's change that. I LOVE Dishoom Edinburgh. I frequent Dishoom Covent Garden in London and so when my sister dragged me to this one I wasn't that enthusiastic. I was taken aback. It's very spacious and gives very Indian vibes. If it's your first time eating Indian or eating at Dishoom, and you can eat a little spicy food, try Vada Pav for starters, and Chicken Ruby and Dal Makhani for mains with Butter Naan. You. Cannot. Go. Wrong.
Just fantastic, been with friends 3 times over the last 5 weeks, breakfast/brunch, just fabulous, 'Bloody Mary' best I've ever had! 5* staff and service!
whilst “vada pau” - sautéed potato enhanced by the addition of authentic "Ghati" masala spice mix and sandwiched on a buttered pau bun was as irresistible as an offering from a really great chippie, but with even more flavoursome whistles and bells. Masala prawns were delightful in their simplicity, subtly spiced and char grilled to ensure maximum smoky succulence.
I am in love with Dishoom! Great service and awesome food. It's all very reasonably priced and staff are always able to help to ensure your order contains all ingredients to make it a great experience. Highly recommended!
As with the Dishoom in London. If its great tasty Indian food you're after then this is the place to be. Service is quick and efficient. Bonus points for having a separate dairy free menu (or one that points out which dishes can be made lactose free). Ordered the vegetable samosa and chicken tikka with some freshly prepared roti bread. Delicious. It's central location makes it an easy option for a quick bite to eat.
A busy bustling restaurant that's full of atmosphere and character. Dishoom brings what feels like an authentic Bombay dining experience straight to the heart of Edinburgh.
There are so many diners enjoying themselves and having a good time that there's never a quiet moment. It really adds to the experience dining there.
As you would expect with a city centre venue like this the food is fantastic. From the fragrant spiced curries to the wonderfully subtle flavours of the desserts. Everything is fabulous.
This place is a must for anyone who knows proper curries and for others who want to try something new for a change. You definitely wouldn't be disappointed. There's something for everyone. Once finished, you can even buy the Dishoom cookbook to try your hand at some of these dishes.
After many recommendations, we finally got to eat in Dishoom. It was so worth the wait. Absolutely incredible food, loads of different flavours, all levels of spice, great breads. Server was so helpful explaining different dishes. And a great busy atmosphere. Don't miss a chance to eat there.
[Prebooking advisable].
Dishoom Edinburgh in the heart of St. Andrew's Square, and I can't thank my friends enough for recommending this fantastic Indian restaurant. From the moment we stepped inside, our journey was nothing short of amazing. The decor was warm and inviting.
First and foremost, the food here is a culinary masterpiece. It's safe to say that Dishoom serves some of the best Indian cuisine I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. The flavors were rich, authentic, and each dish was a delightful explosion of taste. The variety of dishes we tried, all meant for sharing, made our dining experience even more enjoyable. Whether you're a fan of spicy curries, flavorful biryanis, or succulent tandoori dishes, they have it all and it's done to perfection.
Speaking of curries, I must say that the UK truly knows how to do them justice, and Dishoom is no exception. Their curry dishes are a must-try and a testament to their commitment to authentic Indian flavors.
But it's not just the food that makes Dishoom stand out; the service is exceptional as well. Our server, a young gentleman who had relocated to Scotland from Italy, added an extra layer of warmth and professionalism to our dining experience. He took great care of us, offering recommendations, ensuring our glasses were never empty, and making sure every aspect of our meal was perfect. His genuine passion for delivering top-notch service was evident throughout our visit.
All in all, our experience at Dishoom Edinburgh was exceptional. If you're looking for an Indian restaurant that serves incredible food, provides outstanding service, and offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, look no further. They have locations in Manchester and London as well.
The reviews are warranted and the wait is worth it. While there are some dishes we might skip – the mint team is literally hot water with a few leaves in it – Dishoom is truly fabulous. The next time you dine at this location, request to sit in Mat’s section. He was friendly, knowledgeable and easily the most attentive and aware server we had during our UK holiday. Highly recommend trying the House Chaat, Chili Broccoli Salad and Chicken Ruby. The special during our visit was Salli Boti, a delicious lamb dish that we loved. Be sure to balance your meal with breads, rice dishes and proteins. Enjoy!
Best breakfast in Edinburgh 🏴
Service was amazing and the food is absolutely delicious.
We evengot a couple of complimentary glasses of prosecco when the waiter found out we had just got married.
Cannot recommend it enough and I will be back again the next time I visit
Dishoom is as close to a perfect restaurant as you can get. Amazing food, creative theming and environment and great service. Go with an open mind, try a bunch of things on the menu (everything is great!) and enjoy yourself. Be prepared for a long wait (no reservations) but grab some tea outside if they are offering it and peruse the menu. It’s a bit loud and crowded inside but you are here to eat, not to read a book! Can’t wait to come back!
I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the breakfast at Dishoom in Edinburgh, and it was absolutely delightful! From the moment I stepped inside, the warm and inviting ambiance made me feel right at home. The menu offered a fantastic range of options, catering to various preferences and dietary requirements.
The food itself was a culinary masterpiece. Each dish was bursting with flavours and presented with great attention to detail. The classic breakfast staples were elevated to a whole new level, with a unique twist that added a touch of innovation. The quality of ingredients was evident in every bite, and the portion sizes were generous.
The service at Dishoom was impeccable. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, going above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. They were always ready with recommendations and genuinely cared about making sure every guest felt special.
Moreover, the atmosphere at Dishoom was enchanting. The blend of contemporary design with traditional Indian elements created a vibrant and captivating setting. It was a joy to sit back, relax, and enjoy the delightful food amidst such a beautiful ambiance.
Overall, my breakfast experience at Dishoom in Edinburgh was outstanding. It exceeded all my expectations and left me with a lasting impression. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic breakfast filled with flavours, excellent service, and a charming atmosphere.
I've had a lot of Indian food in my time, and always try to check out local offerings if time permits because the flavors are so good. In all my time and in all my places of sampling Indian cuisine, Dishoom stands perhaps at the top for delicious Indian food.
The menu is expansive, and with a variety of options to try each dish was perfect. Excellent spices, sauces, and portions, and if I hadn't eaten to the point of pain, I would have loved to sample even more of their delicious offerings. Some of the best curry I've ever had was in the Chicken Ruby, and if you're lucky enough to have the Alphonso mango in season, it's definitely worth the buy.
The staff was fantastic. Personable, charming, fun, and knowledgeable with their recommendations. They have tons of vegetarian options as well. If you need am excellent vegetarian place you will not be disappointed here!
Reserve ahead of time, I'd say a day at least, because, rightfully so, the line goes around the block for walk-ins. You won't regret your time at Dishoom, but perhaps plan for an hour walk afterwards so you can walk off all the food you'll be enjoying!
Dishoom Edinburgh at St. Andrew's Square, fantastic Indian restaurant. Had some of the authentic best Indian cuisine in our lunch. Also tried them in London. Food, service & atmosphere all good & perfect. Everything is made with perfection. One of the best Indian restaurants in the United Kingdom.
Great spot for a delicious meal in Edinburgh. We made a reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival. Great staff, fun starters, and it was nice to watch the kitchen staff cooking when entering.
