We went to visit Word of Mouth with a large group. Their service was excellent. Even though we didn't all order at the same time, they brought us the food for everyone together, and we didn't have to wait that long. They happily accommodated the vegan and the gluten-free friends who were with us, and they didn't mind that we sat there for two hours.

In love with this place. This cafe was around the corner, I was staying at a hotel close by. I ordered Waffles with mixed berries on the side alongwith a Cappucino. Hands down the best waffles i've had. Crisp and the perfect amount of sweet. Nice staff as well, helpful & friendly.

A little gem of a place. Visited whilst on holiday. Great food and very friendly service. Would strongly recommend and definitely be coming back. Eggs benedict was the bee's knees.

Amazing cafe, just 10 mins from Prince's St. All day breakfasts (vegetarian and vegan options), crepes (sweet and savoury), made-to-order sandwiches to suit all dietary requirements, soups, quiche. AMAZING cake selection (try the Oreo brownie!) Unbelievably cheap, and so friendly. Can't wait to come back ☺

Homely Charms. This little café off Leith Walk has a relaxing, laid back feel. It can be a little cramped but is cosy with it's simple classic décor. Hearty breakfasts and pastries are freshly made and the owner is friendly and chatty. A good find.

After rather a lot of walking around the city, over previous days, the sight of Word of Mouth, on Albert Street, was an extremely welcome one, as a good bowl of hearty soup was top of my list, and I’d heard good things about the quality on offer there.

A charming little cafe, with a lovely retro feel to it, they match a good menu of brunch and lunch favourites with a warm welcome.

With soup mode fully engaged, I was delighted to hear that today’s choice was sweet potato, lemongrass and coconut. I ordered a bowl of that, and took a seat.

The soup was soon with me, accompanied by a good chunky slice of bread. It proved to be very tasty, with a well-judged use of lemongrass to perfume the dish but not overpower it. It provided me with just the restorative I was looking for.

So overall, I was very pleased with my brief stop at Word of Mouth. I’m told their eggs benedict is worth a try, so I look forward to visiting again to sample that.

Great choice for a meal on Leith Walk with surprisingly low prices compared to Edinburgh averages (still in the single digits for most of them). Portion sizes vary depending on your choice; for example, the Eggs Benedict portion is on the smaller side, while the Croque Madame is significantly larger in comparison. It's definitely worth a visit, but make sure to wear something light, as it can get very warm in some cases.

The coffee is good here, but unfortunately there’s only one kind of coffee beans available for choose if sitting in, though you could buy other kinds at home. I really wanna to taste other kinds of beans but I don’t have a coffee machine.

If you want to have breakfast in Edinburgh you must come here! The bacon waffle was above any expectations and the roasted coffee is delicious. The owners are kind and they make you feel like you are having breakfast at home!

Very good food and fast service. We were in Edinburgh a week and enjoyed three breakfast meals. Always excellent. The almond croissant was superb, especially when fresh from the oven in the morning.

Cute cafe with great customer service. I enjoyed a soup with bread & butter for 3.95 and friends got a late breakfast. The guy working was funny and kept us well entertained. The inside seating was busy and quite warm, but we enjoyed sitting outside.

A cosy brunch spot with good food at decent prices, a good selection of menu items. We did not have to wait and were seated straight away. The eggs florentine were really good.
