Very quaint and nice cafe lost among lost among the hundreds of others on the street. Only 4 tables, but excellent service from the gentleman working the counter. Chilli chicken panini was great and my girlfriend loved the sweet potato soup. Very reasonable prices for the high quality, handmade food served. Great lunch stop if heading down the Royal Mile.

The staff is amazing. And the owner is very kind. The prices are good and the taste of the food is great! The traditional Scottish porridge with the homemade fruit compote is delicious!

Popped into the Sugarhouse on the walk between the castle and the palace. Delicious sandwiches with local breads, meats and vegies. One of the tastiest pieces of chocolate cake I've ever had, and I've had a bunch! The owner Don went out of his way for us.

Small local place with great sandwiches at low prices, even though they're located in the heart of the tourist zone. Quick service and friendly staff. £6 or less for a large panini is a great deal!

Great place for a breakfast or a lunch. Make sure you reserve, there is not a lot of space in there. Also, maybe it was just because we were there with a bigger group and it just opened up for the day, it took a bit of time for the food to arrive.
