Having information about the the restaurant, we were there 20 minutes before opening time. When it opened, the people in the queue could be accommodated in the small room. But, besides the weird servicing approach, the food pays back. Excellent tasty dishes which make you want to come back soon.

Love the bibimbap! An authentic Korean restaurant just close to my university. Always full and busy, we need to even queue for 15 mins. But it's very fulfilling and definitely not disappointing! A must to go for people who love Korean foods! A bit pricey but worth the penny :)
I had a high expectation for this place because it was recommended by a Korean friend. And it didn't disappoint. I've had their bibimbap for more than I can count, and their beef bulgogi was also fantastic. The owner was really nice and attentive, and it always felt very welcomed to eat in this place.
I nipped in for lunch here with a couple of colleagues. I have visited this Korean restaurant a few times before but never for lunch. The restaurant is small and full of quirky, homely objects. It feels almost like you are in someone’s front room. We were given a short menu but also a booklet, which showed the meals in more detail, with photos of the ingredients that go into the dish and a finished article shot. This is quite useful if you have not been to the restaurant before and don’t know where to start. It transpired that all three of us wanted to order bulgogi, me with pork and the other two with chicken.
Each main comes with a soup and a set of appetisers. The soup was green bean and was a perfect size to keep you going whilst waiting for your main, without being over-filling. The appetisers consisted of mushrooms, kimchi, broccoli and some sausage type dish which was delicious. The portions of each are just a mouthful per person. When the mains arrived, we were offered to be shown the correct way to eat the dish. This is very useful, particularly for a nervous first timer and a very nice touch. Everyone seemed to enjoy their bulgogi. The meat was well cooked and the sauce had a lovely depth to it. The vegetables were also cooked well and gave crunch and softness where required. The salad part of the bulgogi gave a freshness to the meal and was simple in its delivery. Each dish came with a small bowl of rice which was a nice size but we were offered more if we wanted it.
This restaurant is great fun, with knowledgeable staff. The food is tasty and is worth a visit for some great Korean food.
Different but good. Limited starters but range of mains. Been there twice. First time excellent. Second time not quite as good. Well worth trying. Family run. Very nice people and some very good food. Not expensive. Well worth a try.
Winter warmer. Home style Korean food. Squeeze into this rather small family run restaurant if you can. The owner will do his best to guide you through the menu and then his wife will produce a tasty, well presented and very reasonably priced meal for you. Numerous Korean favourites such as bibimbap and bulgogi feature. Perfect for lunch on a cold day.
My favorite Korean restaurant in Edinburgh. The restaurant itself is just adorable, with perhaps 20 seatings max, it's run by a small family, with the wife in the kitchen, the husband at the front of house and their children serving. The food is inexpensive and humble. The bibimbap is really nice and so are the sushi and bulgogi.
Fantastic Korean restaurant - the best outside London's New Malden! Good quality ingredients and excellent cooking make this place a must try. every dish I have had is good, and the hospitality and extras are second to none. A pleasure every time I visit.
It's quite a small restaurant with only a few tables. You cannot make a reservation so we had a brief wait of 15 minutes on a Friday evening. The food was pretty awesome. There is a set menu and I chose the beef, my wife the hot pot ribs. It came with small side pots of Kim chi and others I don't know the names of and of course rice. Had some ginger tea as well. Good sized portions and the cost was very reasonable £40 with a tip. Very highly recommended! Oh and it had a Michelin sticker in the window.
I had a nice meal, highly recommended Korean restaurant by my friend.
Everything is deep in flavour and tasty. Challenge is it is quite a small venue and it is very warm.
Staff were really nice, you have to admire the tableaware
Amazing authentic Korean food in a small cozy restaurant. The staff is also
very friendly and the prices are more than affordable. One thing to take into consideration: they don't serve alcohol, but allow you to bring your own.
This place deserves its consistent five star rating! Small and cosy, but the food is the focus here and nothing short of phenomenal. You know a place has standards when they take so much pride in every dish and it shows. Omelette and rice cakes were simple and delicious. And the ribs - I’m glad I tried them, they were melt in your mouth! Totally worth the queue in the rain! Don’t change a thing, Kim’s!
Really worth the wait! Really great ambiance and great staff. Service was rapid and well presented. The opening soup and banchan that come with the set menus were delicious. The mains (jiggae, ribs and bulgogi) themselves were excellent too, with very good portions of good quality ingredients and well filling. Would highly recommend for a hearty meal.
The pork ribs were too good! I found it to be a bit sweet but it's extremely flavourful and the meat was perfect. It also comes with a bowl of rice - a great combo!
Pictures of what I had ordered and how I managed to eat the entire bowl! Would definitely recommend pork ribs.
Also, thank you to the girl who waited on us and thoroughly explained the items on the menu ❤️
Personally, quantity-wise.. the entire dish was good enough for me. Didn't need to order starters.
Came back again for the Pork (25 Aug '23)..and was not disappointed! 🥰🥰❤️❤️
A wee restaurant near to the main library of the University of Edinburgh with 10 small dining tables. We had beef bulgogi garnished with sesame and seafood Jjigae ( served in a steal pot). Main meals were served with tiny dishes of appetisers and a bowl of rice. The beef bulgogi was tasty but I didn’t enjoy seafood Jjigae dish.
I had pork rib stew, and I chose the spicy one. It was so yummy. The ribs were soft and sweet but still spicy. But kimchi jigae was too sour. And the staff are lovely.
Amazing tiny Korean establishment in Edinburgh. Been there multiple times as a student and its pork ribs never fail to amaze me each time. The broth has always been AMAZING and it’s a must try however please choose the spiciness level carefully. The set meals do come with a few starter dishes which were delectable and tasteful as well. It’s a must try restaurant in Edinburgh. Given it’s popularity, one must be aware that there might be a significant waiting time as well.
We walked past Kim's Mini Meals accidentally and were standing outside for a few minutes pondering the menu, peeking inside and checking Google. We weren't quite sure whether we wanted to go inside (we actually had made reservations for a different place later that night), when one of the super friendly waitresses stepped outside and asked us if we were looking for a table and we just said yes. In hindsight we were probably pretty lucky, apparently it's not unusual to wait outside for a fair amount of time - there are not a lot of tables.
I generally avoid eating meat, but I read so many good reviews about the pork ribs that I decided to give them a go. And they were fantastic - they do, literally, slide off the bone almost by themselves. I have not seen this in a good long time, you usually have to gnaw them in all but the very best BBQ restaurants. Just beware that they are cooked, not smoked.
My wife has the fried undon noodles with tofu and she was also super happy with her choice.
The waitresses deserve a special mention, they were extremely kind and forthcoming - sometimes this comes across as being a little phony, but definitely not here. Two thumbs up from us!
As for the atmosphere, it is very down to earth and unpretentious in the best kind of way. This is not a posh place.
The meals were 14 pounds each including a small appetizer, which is out of this world value for money if you ask me.
And finally a small word of advice: "spicy" definitely means spicy. I ordered "medium" and that was perfect for me (I do like spicy food!). Only pick that option if you know what you are getting yourself into 😉.
Outstanding! Been wanting to go here for ages and the 15 min queue outside was so worth it. All the staff where super friendly, food was served quick and was absolutely delicious! The pork ribs were plentiful and tasty and my friends Seafood dish was a great portion and well flavoured. Go join the queue, it's worth the wait!
Uber driver dropped us at the wrong destination. We saw this restaurant about to open and a Michelin signboard right in front of the glassdoor. Quickly we was told to form a queue before bunch of people jumped in as well (lucky us, we’re the first in line)
£14 meals, good deal especially it has been awarded Michelin before.
Though we were first in queue, our order came (almost) the last 🤦♂️ No idea what took them so long. Even the third group was done eating.
Complimentary small side dishes is decent enough
Our waitress was incredibly sweet and friendly. Food was good too
The food here is always wonderful, I've been maybe 10 times. Highly recommended. Although you cannot book and it gets busy, so I recommend turning up at opening to guarantee a table. They can be a little "get in and get out", but I understand that it's small so they need to turn over the tables quickly. Due to it being so small, it's also quite cramped and there's not much elbow room. Still, definitely a go-to place for the food!
I had amazing lunch here, with seafood jigae and ginger tea.
Love it so much, the shrimp was fresh and the soup was scrumptious.
I was lucky to have a seat at lunch time, they usually have long queue.
And staff was amazing, unfortunately it does not serve take away.
Was waiting to visit here for a while as many friends recommended it. Also as I was told it's always packed, and we waited outside for the table for about 40 minutes after arriving around 6pm on Friday, so be prepared for that 😁
Food was great, we had pajeon and beef bibimbap. Loved cute side dishes that come before the meal as well!
Pros: Korean cuisine paradise.
One of the best Korean cuisine in Edinburgh in my opinion.
Cons: Please check their website about open and closure, my friends went there and realize later that it’s closed for holidays.
No reservation, only walk-in and all attendees need to be present in order to get the table so better be on time ⏰. The queue can be exhaustingly long so please make plan before visiting
