Food was great, I'm not a big fan of Indian food but my boyfriend who is loved it. Two downsides though: we waited for 40 mins for the dishes to come. Their lassi was also very thin - not like the ones had in other Indian restaurant. Apart from that, food was good, staff were very helpful and friendly, and the fact we could bring our own drink sure made the meal cheaper than I expected.

Fantastic Family Run Restaurant ! !. I went to this place with my friends and was taken aback by how nice a welcome we got from the waiters( found out later it was the owners sons).

They sat us down and made us feel at ease and said if we had any questions about the food to just ask as its his parents that do the cooking !.

I had the Zeera Lamb, soft lamb and a lovely hearby flavour that was not to oily and my freind had a chocolate massalam yes chocolate WOW that was suprsingly yummy.

All in all the service was brilliant freindly welcoming and food is cooked with a lot of love and affection in a timely manner.

Highly recommened for the family service and great quality food.

Cant wait to go back ! !

PS its a bring your own bottle place = great value for money !

I would compare the Kismot Killer to the Dementors in Harry Potter, who send people crazy by sucking out all of the happiness inside them.

Had a really lovely meal at the Kismot In Edinburgh. Everyone chose something different to eat and all meals were thoroughly enjoyed and full of flavour. Clean plates all round! "Mum and Dad" clearly put in alot of love and effort into the food and the restaurant and making the experience wonderful. We would recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic meal. The decor was really beautiful with lovely small touches. Chocolate naans and bring your own booze really is a winner too!!

Highest praise and many blessings on this family restaurant. The food was spectacular. The staff were not only nice but jovial and a pleasure to talk with. They spent time explaining the food, making recommendations, and engaging in conversation. Excellent food, good prices, nice setting, and wonderful people. One of the top restaurants in Edinburgh. Thank you for a great dinner experience.

The food is really delicious of this restaurant. Especially the Tarka dal is lip locking yummy. Moreover the restaurant is 100% halal. If you want pure Bangladeshi or Indian food you should definitely go there. If I will get a chance to visit Edinburgh again, I will obviously come here.

The best curry house in the city - delicious, with variety, personality, and some of the most unique cuisine I have tried. (If you love lime pickle, try the Achar: it's like lime pickle in the form of a spicy curry)! The staff are all family, and give you the warm, friendly service that only a family that love what they do can. Please don't think of Kismot as just the killer curry house - it's not somewhere to go for a challenge, but anytime you want a great meal; it's wonderful in its own right. While competitive or performative eating isn't for me, there's definitely atmosphere and a spectacle when someone orders it!

Amazing traditional food brought in a trendy way by a super sweet and fun family. We went to visit Edinburgh for 5 days, we ate here twice. Absolutely recommend it and happy to be in line for adoption into the family!

Visiting Edinburgh, popped in for a meal. As we like to support family run businesses, thought we're give it a go. Superb food, lamb jalfrezzi keep you going for a week. Friendly people, the mam is a stickler for hygiene, the dad knows his spices and hence sauces and I'm going back to see if the daughter will marry my son. Top place😃😀
