Quaint little store and I mean little, it will take a maximum of 14 pax very tightly. They serve a small selection of lights meals and patisseries. The patisseries are divine! The best custard flan ever. They make a delicious orange blossom tea with hot chocolate been there twice in 3 days, need I say more!

We only wanted a sandwich, but ended up with 30 minutes in Paris. The staff offered a welcome as warm as their baguettes and took our order in French. It might sound gimmicky, but wasn't. The kitchen was alive with French banter and we soon forgot we'd taken a trip to Bruntsfield.

The sandwiches were very bon and the cakes looked incroyable, we didn't partake in this occasion but will hit the macarons next time!

French Heaven. This little café in Bruntsfield is a delight. It is compact but has a charm all it's own. This is helped by the friendly French staff who make their customers feel welcome. The freshly made cakes and savoury items are totally authentic and the coffee is excellent. My flan pattisier was exquisite with just the right amount of sweetness. Often packed out and for good reason. A great addition to this area and well worth a visit.

Too short of cash for a holiday?

This bijoux boulangerie in Bruntfield have friendly staff that chat to you in French, proper bread and a pastry counter.

Little tables and chairs, simple decor and baskets of bread add to the ambience. I felt like I was on a mini-break in France. It could easily feel over-done or try-hard but it doesn't. La Barantine is a lovely place to stop if you want to feel like you are treating yourself to a trip, but much cheaper and faster than flying.

We had coffees and pastries sitting in, the service was good, every person working seemed to be focused on providing great customer experience which was refreshing for my parents who were visiting from France... We then had French patisseries to take away. They were good but the eclairs tasted like they were from the day before. The baguettes were very authentic. We didn't try the sandwiches but if they are made with the same bread then they should be pretty awesome as the fillings looked amazing.

It’s a nice cozy cafe right next to my work place which is a win for me! I had a take out for a hot chocolate and oat milk latte they both were amazing and price is reasonable as well. I asked for a customisation for my drink and the barista made it perfectly! Staff and ambience 5/5. Previously had their fruit tart which tasted great as well.

You can find great authentic French pastry here ! Although I am not French, but as a foodie with high expectations, their quiche is really delicious, smooth custard with aromatic and warm pastry. I still prefer English scone than theirs tho, they don’t serve clotted cream 🤣 The coffee could be better, but it is compensated by the great pastry and macaroons. Do drop by this lovely place when you are nearby.

This new bakery on Bruntsfield is now a favourite spot at 7 in the morning for fresh baked pastries and coffee. They also do amazing bread and vegetarian quiches. They make the absolute best almond croissants I’ve ever tasted.

Lovely small cafe but not a lot of space. Staff were lovley even though it was near the end of the day for them finishing shift. Coffee was ok but the cakes are really good and yummy and beautifully presented.

The best macaroons. Very flavorful and worth it. The vanilla flan slapped and hit the spot. The slice was thicc and it was devoured immediately on the street. #reviewednesday

Absolutely wonderful patisserie in Bruntsfield. I had visited years ago when I lived in the area, and was delighted to return on a recent trip. The pastries are fantastic, both in appearance and taste, and staff are very friendly too. As we were finishing up our food, we were even offered complimentary macarons, which were superb. Highly recommended!

Just popped in with a friend for a coffee. Small and intimate with good coffee and despite us having just one coffee each they were in no hurry to move us on. Friendly service and will definitely try the cakes on next visit.

Maybe we caught the staff on am off day but they were pretty grumpy. Apart from that the pastries were really nice and the decor is lovely.
