Reviews Holy Cow

The table settings have all the loveliness of a sunny Sunday picnic, with sweet bright touches (string lights, potted plants, etc.)—like a Sunday picnic at an evil-free cow farm! My wife had the “smashed avocado” on toast (yes, the meme-iest millennial meal; we perpetuate the stereotype, gladly) and a hot chocolate. I gobbled down the reuben, which was a creamy and tangy sandwich tower of gut-gladdening comfort food. For dessert we enjoyed a (gluten-free) coffee and chocalate cake—oh dear lord it was soul-warming!

After finding the stairs to the restaurant, I had an amazing carrot sandwich and a nice chai latte. Whole place is vegan, really nice food and service. Only the decoration didn’t really have a personality, but it was okay! :) Will visit again

It was absolutely delicious. One of the best vegan burgers I have had so far. The restaurant itself is located below street level and is cozy and a bit quieter. A welcome break from the busy streets of Edinborough.

Great quantity at a great price. Always good to see a fully vegan restaurant near or in a city. The Reuben sandwich was particularly tasty and the cheese, despite being vegan, tasted very close to real cheese!!! I’m impressed :)

Great little vegan restaurant and very small and detailed restaurant. Staff are friendly and caring and very cooperative. The food was good and the prices were reasonable the cakes looked great and I loved the decorations.

They do an excellent frappuccino. The food here was nice, the homemade chips were especially good. The place is small and during the fringe is busy but we luckily got a table for 4 thanks to the accommodating staff. A good selection of cakes too.

Eat here when ever I visit Edinburgh. The food is tasty and the staff are really nice. Atmosphere is a bit dull, but I couldn't care less especially when I have had a busy day at work and just need food. 4* this time as the price has gone up £15.50 for a small burger and was served burnt chips which I could not be bothered to complain about. I am sure they'd have sorted it out but why serve a plate with burnt chips in the first place. Anyways I'd still go back as it's a nice place.

Amazing cakes! Pad Thai salad appreciated by the rest of my party, but few if any option if you have an intolerance to gluten and or soy.

100% Vegan and Absolutely loved my light lunch here. There are a lot of innovative items on the menu. I couldn't order much but really enjoyed what I did try. The fries here are homemade and they are very moreish. The raspberry cake was a delight, not too sweet and very light. I would definitely recommend, the atmosphere is cozy and staff are welcoming.

Great place, friendly service and tasty food. If you're into vegan food, or simply vegan you should come there. Also it's worth to try their desserts! It's cool to come outside rush hours, so you can sit on a patio

The best Vegan food I've ever eaten! I can't pretend I'm a food connoisseur but I have eaten a a fair few veggie/vegan places and this is the best I've had, clearly all the food is made fresh and to a great standard as the menu is small, I highly recommend!

A lovely fully vegan place was a bit challenging to find at first as the restaurant located down the stairs. I came for dinner and took their Pad Thai salad with tofu, a green smoothie and for dessert their Victoria cake. the pad thai was tasty although the coconut taste in the sauce was a bit too strong, the tofu was a bit harsh but I love the taste of it, and as for the smoothie, it felt very fresh, not sweet at all and quite healthy. as for the cake I love the touch of cranberries and strawberries on top, the cream was sweet but the sponge part was a bit dense .and dry at the edge the restaurant design is cozy and has a great ambiance with plants and some cool art on the walls, the service was lovely and the food came out pretty quickly.

Absolutely amazing hidden gem. Food was delicious and the portions were plenty. We had the Vietnamese Tofu burger and Pad Thai salad, super yummy! Nice chill atmosphere with local artist's work displayed all over. Would definitely return when we're next in Edinburgh.
