Great after work spot in a central location. The kind waiting staff recommended how many mere dishes to have, but would recommend about 3 each. The lamb and houmous dish is to die for! Served with hit delicious pitta, it was the best I've ever had. Looking forward to my next visit :)
Yeni has a nice atmosphere and very friendly and accommodating staff. Our group ordered 10 or 11 meze dishes - some of which were excellent, while others were average or a bit disappointing. The smoked paprika seasoned potatoes with spicy tomato sauce, arancini, and oven baked aubergine slices were three standout dishes, but I wasn't a fan of the falafel and found the hummus to be quite bland. Dessert was really nice - 3 flavours of Turkish delight, and a delicious fresh mint tea.
Yeni is a smallish establishment serving Turkish and Greek food. Risk not booking ahead at your own disappointment. Ideal for group gatherings, the friendly staff ensure that you are fed, fed then literally stuffed like their aubergines! The banquet options are the way to go, even if you are just two or a party of four. The cold mezzas are ample, the hommus delightful, the hot mezzas are a great entry to the lamb Iskendar, the suculent chicken kebabs and the cod (£9.50 side order). The Turkish draft lager (£4.50) is a clean crisp easy drinking beer to wash down your gullet. Wish they served Turkish coffee at the end just as a standard practice for all banquets though...
This place is brilliant!!! I came here on Saturday for a birthday and having never heard of Yeni I was really excited to try out this restaurant. All of our group decided to go for the set option which was £24.95 pp as long as there was a minimum of two people going for that option. We had 5 cold Meze, 4 hot meze and a selection of dishes for the main course followed by tea/coffee and dessert.
The meal was just amazing. First of all, the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. I was offered gluten free bread to go alongside my meze and my friend was offered alternative meze as she doesn't like lamb or fish and they were more than happy to suggest alternatives and include other dishes not normally served with this set menu option. Then the food came, All of our dishes were perfect - beautifully cooked, well seasoned and the portion sizes were good for 4 people (although weren't able to eat everything on our plates!!!) The main selection of main courses were also beautifully cooked and seasoned and the portions were perfect. There was also some rice with the main course dishes which was very very good. Feeling extremely full and satisfied- we then had a small selection of traditional Turkish desserts with tea&coffee.
I will definitely be back here, staff were brilliant, food was fabulous and prices were extremely reasonable!

Delighted to have discovered this little Turkish haven on Hanover Street! The staff were so welcoming and hospitable. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and they were happy to accommodate individual dietary requirements (and general fussiness!) As a non fish eater, and not a fan of lamb, they replaced a few dishes in the Ottoman Feast for myself, and included a few requested dishes, such as Arancini.
The food was out of this world, we were continually presented with incredibly delicious dish after dish after dish.
Cannot wait to return!
A little piece of Turkish paradise tucked away in the centre of Edinburgh. From the minute we walked through the door we were made very welcome. The staff are helpful and polite. The food was fresh authentic and in abundance every dish was as tasty as the one before. Would highly recommend and will be returning very soon.

Excellent. Wonderful food and service. Ottoman Feast was tasty and well priced.
Fantastic Middle Eastern meze, very high quality food and flexible menu. Definitely one to return to
Really nice décor with a light, bright and fresh feel. The staff are lovely and the menu is superb, offering a wide range of tasty authentic dishes, excellent value too. A great choice for lunch with friends.
So Day 2 in Edinburgh and we couldnt find a restaurant that was not fully booked! Yeah.. rugby weekend.. anyway, stumbled on this gem. Didnt have a reservation but in true Scotish hospitality, we were given a table! Great food! Cozy place, lovely staff and service spot on. Definitely recommend the ottoman feast.. great selection of Mediterranean dishes.
We visited here on a whim after looking online and it was AMAZING!! Literally the best Turkish food I've ever had and introduced my other half to, for the first time!! The service was great and fast, was definitely sad to leave!!
Lovely Turkish dining experience. The food is authentic, cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. Second time visiting this restaurant after I was blown away the first time.
A fantastic restaurant. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. The service is excellent and particularly good if you have any specific dietary requirements to be catered for - the staff were particularly helpful in that respect. I particularly recommend the set selection menus for groups.
One of my favorite restaurants in Edinburgh. Cozy atmosphere, and the food just won’t disappoint you.
OMG! I seriously can't describe how much it exceeded my expectations. The food is amazing, and if you come with friends you'll easily try so many different food. The Turkish sausage is amazing!! And the calamari is one of the best calamari I've had - not like those bread only ones you get on lame places. Would put a pic of the food but I was too hungry so there's a pic of the empty plates :)
The food was delicious, and the staff friendly and timely. It’s a nice casual place to enjoy good food.
Eaten here twice - once before Xmas with a group of 11 ( the festive banquet was amazing) and again last week in a group of 6. Both times the food has been enjoyed by everyone. Fresh and flavorsome dishes with the veggies amongst us well catered for. The Turkish wine also went down very well! If you've not been - give it a go.
Went for a big meal out with a group of 10 people. We had the banquet menu and it was absolutely super. Unlike many places that offer tapas style dishes there was lots of variety, not too much oil and plenty of food to go around. The prices are a wee bit expensive but not incomparable to other places in the centre of town. I would definitely recommend it for a group meal although be sure to book well in advance.
Atmosphere: Great attentive service, knowledgeable waitress, great recommendations.
Food: We had a big selections, picked dishes ourselves as opposed to the chef's choice and did not regret it. Meats were grilled well, flavours were balanced.
Drinks: Good selection for a restaurant. They have some good Turkish tea to finish off too.
All in all I would recommend this place if you're wanting some Mediterranean type food.
