First time here with a Thai friend , worth every praise of it I read about. Super thai fish cakes , prawn satay to die for, tamarind duck unequalled. And the rest Best Thai restaurant in Edinburgh and I know them all.

Me and my partner had a dinner in Nok's kitchen and we loved it.

Absolutely fallen in love with the presentation of the starter(s)- we shared one but gave one-eyed looks to neighboring tables and couldn't stop drooling over. We chose Pu Suay starter and each of us a main: my partner- Panang curry with shrimps (pay attention it is shrimps only, personally I think I could have a couple of extra veggies in) but the curry's taste was to die for. I chose Pad tofu ka prow, which was perfectly spicy, not at all overwhelming but also full of other tastes.

Price- wise? Very reasonable- paid 51 pounds for food and 2 beers.

Will definitely be back !

Delicious food and attentive staff. The lunch deal includes starters and main for a very affordable price. We had prawn tempura, chicken Pad Thai and Pad Ka Prow minced chicken. All dishes were perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Will definitely recommend!

I’ve been to Thailand six times and have seen a good deal of the country, and I would say that Nok’s is as authentic as I’ve had anywhere outside of Thailand. I tried to reserve on Saturday and again on Sunday but as they were booked settled on Monday lunch. Make sure to reserve as the place is small.

Lovely little Thai place. The food is very delicious, a little too sweet for my taste but still very good, the staff are very attentive. Their starter platter and deep fried banana are a must!

Definitely the best Thai I've had in Edinburgh, and I've tried a few. The lunch offer is a bargain and the food is very authentic. I had tempura prawns for starter and seabass for main and both were full of flavour and spicy enough for me (I requested Thai spicy). Have booked to go back tomorrow because it was just so good.

We couldn't get reservations but ordered take away. They were very friendly on the phone and had to food ready quickly and right on time for us to walk there and take back to our Airbnb. The place was crowded when we picked up our order, and looked a bit tight, but everyone looked happy. We had red curry chicken, chicken satay and vegetable spring rolls. All were excellent! I'd definitely go here again if ever in Edinburgh again.

We had our best meal here on a tour of UK. We were pleasantly surprised by such an authentic Thai restaurant here that provided great food, friendly quick service and atmosphere. The chef's signature grilled chicken curry get our thumbs up! Pad Thai and chicken satay were excellent too. It is right below the entrance to the castle.

Found this place by searching Google for 'best Thai in Edinburgh'... not disappointed, in fact probably one of the best Thai restaurants anywhere! Great food, good service, well priced and a lovely cosy atmosphere too. Twenty minutes walk from the city centre but well worth it, plus it helps to work an up appetite anyway! Recommended!

Wow! Where do I begin? Nok's kitchen "Nokked" my socks off! :-P It was absolutely incredible! I loved the variety of choice they had, everything very authentic and high quality. They put such effort into presentation, even cutting the vegetables into flowers! I really do recommend getting the sharing platter to start, because you get to try a little of everything. My food was amazing, such complex flavours and presented in such a delicate way. I can't wait to return. Prices are so reasonable for this level of restaurant, which surely must be among the very best Thai eateries in the UK, if not Europe. It's not decorated in a fancy way, and it doesn't try to be anything other than a simple neighborhoud Thai restaurant, but even the harshest critic couldn't fail to be overwhelmingly impressed by the food ingenuity, quality and presentation here.
