The traditional-looking wee Scottish cafe is too crowded on a Sunday morning so we popped into the French corner. Merci for the nice breakfast. The croissant is airy, flaky, and buttery and goes well with the Brie. Full Scottish breakfast is lovely— especially the slightly fried haggis! Crunchy and flavorful. The multigrain toast is nice, and the bacon is crispy. The bagel is giant. It tastes good but the texture is too fluffy and resembles more like white bread roll. Latte and flat white are not special but still lovely with a balanced taste. The tarts and baguette all look so gorgeous! The staff are super friendly too.

Recommended by friend, I finally try this French cafe which serves savory and desserts. I try their salami croissant. The texture of croissant is crispy outside and tastes alright. But I think the highlight of this cafe is dessert menu which provides a variety of choices from berries, apple to chocolate. My favorite is white gold with chocolate inside and the raspberry sauce. I think each layer is nicely made. It reminded me of the French cafe in shops or renowned hotels. It’s a proper cake/dessert in Edinburgh in my opinion. Also, It’s not too sweet to feel guilty. The staff I met that day is very lovely, friendly and informative explaining the menus with warmly welcoming vibe. Highly recommended to try their dessert if you are around grassmarket area.

I nice tea place in Edinburgh. I am celiac and I had instead of lunch some delicous little cakes instead. The owner's wife is celiac so he knows what that means when baking these lovely treats. Also the rest of my family ate well. Thank you thank you thank you.

Coming here to have a quiet lecture during a 2 hours pause from some other activity. I had 2 teas and 1 little cake. Omg the cake guys was amazing, really well balanced. It was a mix fruit tarts with crème patisserie inside. To suggest to have some puddings here as they are amazing. I’ll probably be back.

Walked into this lovely spot by accident on our last day in Edinburgh. Started with lovely service from the waitress who was bubbly and made us laugh quite a few times. We ordered the full Scottish and the British breakfast, and both were phenomenal. Good portions and the food was delicious- probably the best haggis we had tried in Edinburgh. So happy we ran into this cafe.

Wow. What amazing gluten free patisseries. A whole shelf full! They were incredible, and the staff so friendly and patient. There were so many savoury gluten free options too. We'll definitely be back. I want to try all those patisseries!

Very cute little tea shop. After visiting the castle we came here for afternoon tea and some sweets. The tea selection was good and the little chocolate cakes we got were amazing! Watching other people order the baguette sandwiches almost made me order a second lunch as well, they looked so good. This is a great local business to support while you are in town.

OUTSTANDING!!! Customer oriented, prompt, polite and VERY DELICIOUS food. Even owner came up said high and if there is anything I needed. Since we are driving through UK, I’ve asked him a lot of questions and he was very helpful.

This lovely little cafe serves up a gorgeous breakfast, choose from Scottish, British or the L’Etoile. They also serve lunch items. AND they will make the whole thing gluten free so for mine this meant sub in different sausage and toast -wow-super cool! Perhaps the best part for me: an entire shelf of beautiful GLUTEN FREE pastries!!! The rest of my family are not gluten free and they agree the offerings here are delish! Don’t miss if you’re in Edinburgh😋🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧

Nice and cozy place. The food was very good but the portions pretty little and there's little options to choose from. Anyway, recommended place. Liked it!!

This place is one of the best of its kind. It has all: friendly, welcoming service, amazing food and quality ingredients. There is no fried oil stink that’s how I found it as I can’t just stink sausage when going to a business meeting later on. You can buy here bread and pastry as well and it opens early. Just come visit, they made my day today! Thank you.

Absolutely loved the intricately made pastries here! They’re all home made and not too sweet. We went there back to back in two days and would have gone again if we weren’t leaving Edinburgh! Prices were very reasonable too. Highly recommend!

Cute find in Edinburgh. Loved the fact that whom I think may be the owner, conversed with me in French. Very authentic. Inviting patisserie counter. Good coffee. Nice find in a fab city.

Another lovely lunch, great gluten-free options including an amazing range of patisserie. The baguettes (not GF) are so fresh and crunchy, and good value, soup and baguette sandwich only £7.95
