Outstanding family meal in probably one of the best restaurants in Edinburgh. Consistently good food using the best seasonal Scottish produce. Excellent attentive staff, that unlike other restaurants, have worked in this restaurant for several years. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

I’d visited Bia Bistrot back in 2013 and had a rather underwhelming time. After a trip to the westernmost reaches of the city, featuring a breakfast visit to Naihas, I stopped in to give it a fresh go. I was joined on this venture by Kevin, who had previously quested to Burger Meats Bun. As with the previous visit, it was to their lunchtime set menu that our attention was drawn. Kevin opened with the beetroot and rocket salad while I stuck to familiar territory with their soup of the day, cream of vegetable. Kevin followed with the gnocchi with squash, while I chose the fishcakes.

Excellent well cooked food with great presentation. Topped off with excellent service by the staff.

We walked in and although it appeared full with many tables reserved, they seated us almost immediately downtairs. We had a couple of entrees with the goats cheese panacota being a highlight. For mains, the meat were cooked perfectly with a great combination of ingredients. Dessert highlights their chocolate truffle which is just a touch if class.

Oh, and did I mention the waiter that served us were very attentive, helpful and always a pleasant smile. Although we were the only table downstairs, we did not once felt neglected or isolated from the other diners. Service was always swift with a smile.

I can honestly say, Bia Bistrot is by far one of the best French restaurants I've been in. I would go so far to say its even better than The French down south in Manchester. One of the hidden gems in Edinburgh! Love it! :)

One of Edinburghs top restaurants hands down. On every aspect from the outstanding service to the delicious food and superb wine selection. This used to be a regular of mine when I lived in the area years ago and it still continues to impress me to this day. *Update* My first time back here, this time with an infant and I’ve got to say my dining was just as amazing. From our arrival we received help with the door, we’re seated at a table suitable with a pram and felt very welcomed. New parents will know the struggle of eating with one hand and the staff were more than accommodating asking if we’d like our meal sent back to cut into more manageable sizes. A big thank you to the entire Bia bistro team for a great lunch !

We went to this restaurant on our first evening in Edinburgh, what a splendid welcome. They have a vegan friendly menu which was just amazing. I had the fennel & leek cakes, one of the best meals I've ever had. I also had a bottle of ginger ale which was really refreshing. The place is very clean, smells fresh and the decor and lighting are quaint, great for a romantic evening if one is called for. As it was our first night in Scotland we were under the impression that it was not customary to tip and we left the waitstaff high and dry leaving only change on the table. The next day after talking to fellow diners at another restaurant we realized it is customary to tip 10% for good service in Scotland so I must apologize to the staff. The service was quite good! Make a reservation and have a great time, you won't be disappointed.

Interesting collection of dishes. Not a wide choice, but that is a good sign for somewhere of this size. Staff were helpful and attentive without being intrusive. Being someone from South of the border I found the wine prices fairly reasonable. We all enjoyed the dishes with a small exception being the presence of gunshot in the pigeon

A great place for dinner! We loved our meal here. The food was freshly cooked and excellent. The artisan bread we had with pesto dressing was divine. The wine was delicious too. It is a bit out of the way from the city centre but definitely worth the trip (We used Uber!) The restaurant has a lovely ambience and was great for a romantic meal. Would highly recommend.

Best food in Edinburgh ! We visited Bia Bistrot on a Tuesday evening , the restaurant was close to full. Classic interior and food to match. For lovers of classically made food look no further, good honest food cooked to perfection The food is incredible. Service was exceptional. Professional wait staff with fantastic knowledge on the menu & wines. We all loved Bone marrow starter , fresh local fish either Hake or Cod. My partner and I are not usually dessert fans but their hazelnut parfait was delicious. Wine list is carefully sourced, great value. Some fantastic organic options from smaller producers . One of the best places we've eaten in all year. Can't wait to come back
