Some of the most skilled cooking we have ever experienced. Exquisite food and superb attentive service. Maybe to improve you could dim the lights to create a more relaxed atmosphere, spread out the customers a touch and play some music in the background and it would have been exactly perfect!
When reading reviews for restaurants it can be quite hard to discerne what is truly worth visiting because you don't know the reviewers tastes, preference, budget or experience. We were recommended by the hotel to make a reservation here. Scottish with italian air. I must say it wasn’t bad, but the menu was a little bit short and the dishes were small. Do not share rations. But second dishes are better. Risotto is ok and makes you feel full.

We went there yesterday (Thursday evening) for dinner, and it was worth every penny we spent.
Service was excellent. Had been greeted with glass of prosecco and bread on the house. Waiters and bartenders very knowledgeable and with good manners.

I always walk by this fairly new restaurant and saw it pretty empty- I can’t understand why! It is a definitely must for Italian fine dining. The food is delicious, and the staff is also very nice! One of the best tasting menu I have had in Edinburgh. Can’t wait to go again.
We had a three course dinner and were very impressed with the dishes. The beef ragu was especially delicious.
Mono is of the best Italian restaurants we’ve been to in Edinburgh and we will be back.

Lovely modern Italian place in the centre of town - the tasting menu comes highly recommended. Gorgeous fresh food and a fine wine selection. Nice decor, friendly service and decent prices.
Gourmet lunch stop where we had 3 courses with wine pairing, our last day in Scotland. Very tasteful (and beautiful) servings. Would have loved to try it out for dinner as well .. maybe next time 😁

This is the place to go when you expect an experience for your taste buds. We've been there for 5 course tasting menu. Every dish was beautifully crafted and provided a different taste sensation. Definitely recommended.
Only had a couple of cocktails in here. Even though it was the Same one it was actually beautiful. Atmosphere was nice and chilled out, music wasn't to loud and the staff were fantastic
