My sister and I decided it was time for us to have a proper afternoon tea and we couldn't have chosen a better place!

The place is lovely, it sets the perfect atmosphere to have the best tea we've ever tried. We were very happy about the food as well (definitely have the Victoria cake, it was delicious). Also the staff was super welcoming.

I can't take the credit for this find - its all down to my friend, Elaine, but I will recommend it to everyone and anyone I speak to :) I've been here twice now, both times as a treat and it was spectacular. I had worried that I'd built it up in my head and my visit was actually going to be a disappointment. I was wrong! The tea room itself is very small, only 5 or so tables are in it, but it doesnt have a cramped feeling about it at all. Elaine knows the owner from being a regular visitor, but I was instantly welcomed and made to feel at home (she even remebered me from the last visit we had). We ordered then used the time to feed Evie (Elaine's 9 month old daughter) and catch up. All sandwiches are made fresh and there wasn't really a big wait for our afternoon tea to arrive. The cake stand was filled - it was a wonderful sight! Sandwiches, scones, macarons, miniature cupcakes, a chocolate teapot, handmade edible cups and swans. We'd ordered tea, and every teapot comes with its own hand knitted tea cosy on it - ours this time was bee themed. Lynn (the owner) had went out of her way to make our stand 'special' for us as she knew we'd had one previously. We got a top up of tea half way though which was no bother at all. Cake is also included with the tea. There's a selection on home made cakes displayed near the till. We were so full from all the goodies that we got them to take away. I choose the red velvet cheesecake and took it back to Glasgow to share with the hubby - his response was that it was 'decent'. High praise from him :) All in, we spent 90ish mins at Bon and felt right at home, there was no rushing us out the door. Lynn popped passed every so often to chat and see if we needed anything else. I would give this place 6 stars if I could - I love it to bits. I always say to people we need to go to Edinburgh just for this place, I really need to start doing it. It's fabulous.

Bon is the cutest, prettiest café with the some tastiest cakes I've ever had. It is a very small & cute place that is very aesthetic - I'm always a sucker for a place that has flowers on the tables! I had the hot chocolate which was topped with the perfect amount of cream & marshmallows which was lovely, & the Victoria sponge cake - beautifully made with layers of real strawberries, jam and cream. They also do amazing-looking afternoon teas, which I am yearning to try at some point! I am definitely looking forward to coming back to this beautiful place.

These folks are very hospitable. We had the tea for two. Not only was it very tasty and filling with a large pot of tea, it was an unbelievable value at 20 pounds. Although a little bit of distance from the tourist area, it is on a main bus route and worth the trip multiple times.

My wife and I had heard this place was meant to be good so we decided to go for an afternoon tea. It was a last minute decision so we were lucky to get a table. Thankfully, I messaged the lady and she was able to jig things around and squeeze us in. The shop is very cute and pink. It feels very authentic as they add little personal touches. Between the 2 of us we had to choose 3 sandwich fillings from 5 options (I expected a few more to choose from). We ended up going with cheese & ham, tuna & mayo and egg & mayo. The afternoon tea came with scones with jam and clotted cream, a selection of small sweet treats and of course a pot of tea of your liking. I would have liked to have seen what tea’s they had available and for it to visible somewhere (the lady did list a few). Service was not bad and staff were quite friendly. We didn’t have to wait too long for our food. The sandwiches were generous and tasted as you would expect. You have the option between brown and white bread. The scones appeared a little stale on the outside but on the inside they were very soft and tasty. The jam was very jelly like but nice and the clotted cream was spot on. The sweet treats on the top layer were good. Some were tastier then others but the attention to detail was what we were most impressed about. Our favour was the cupcake with the macaron on top. Our teas cups of tea were also nice. We got a choice of homemade cakes and treats to takeaway. I went with the carrot cake and my wife had the empire biscuit. Both of which were fine. Overall, we thought it was good value and we are glad we visited. For afternoon tea standards. I’d say it’s great.

My friend an I have just had the most wonderful afternoon tea at Bon Tea today. Everything you could possibly wish for with a good selection of freshly made sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam. Also on the third tier of the stand was the most beautiful selection of mini delicacies. Mini fruit tarts, fresh strawberries in wafer thin chocolate baskets just to name a few. The loose leaf tea was refreshing and topped up during our stay. I can't fault in any way and this experience is by far top of my list as far as afternoon tea goes. Also as part of the service we were aloud to choose from a selection of homemade cakes to take away. Cannot fault in any way. Will definitely be back for more.

This is by far the best place to have afternoon tea. You get a choice of sandwiches on brown or white and little cakes and scones with jam and cream. Tea made with tea leaves in china cups. More expensive places I've been have more cake and very few sandwiches. You also can take what you don't eat home and they offer every customer homemade cake to take home. Can't say enough about Le Bon. Terrific value for money

We enjoyed a nice afternoon tea and the food was lovely. unfortunately some acetate/plastic was left on one the items which had a chocolate wrap around. We didn't notice this until one of our party had it in there mouth, it could have been a chocking hazard but luckily she realised. When we told they staff they didn't apologise and ther response was it sometimes happens. We feel that they should have at least given a small apology.

Went there with two friends for afternoon tea. The service was excellent as was the food. The choice of sandwiches was excellent and there was just enough to eat. We all really enjoyed the meal and will definitely come back.
