Review for the restaurant only. Lovely to find a tasting menu in the highlands with all local ingredients. Decently priced from the perspective of NYC tasting menus. Straight down the middle with the courses, everything was good kind of what’d you expect. Nothing crazy wild/innovative, they played it safe. The wine pairing was also solid - no complaints. It was a good experience to find a delicate menu after eating all the piles of delicious seafood! Staff was super friendly as well. Would recommend if you want a change of pace for a quieter, cozy date night on your road trip in the highlands. Location is a 3 star because of its remote location. And there are prob <10 rooms within 10 minute drive. But this is what also makes this restaurant so unique and worth a visit. Kind of crazy to think this place even exists in Edinbane. Very lovely!

For the restaurant only. Had the tasting menu for dinner. Every main dish was so perfect. The missing one star is for the desserts. The flavors for all 3 desserts are quite weird. Also, it would be better if the crackers can be less oily. And it would be nice if not followed with fried oysters, as both are fried, and can be too oily.

Wow - the tasting menu was the best meal I’ve had in Scotland to date! The ingenuity of the dishes and the presentation - it was a full experience. Also stayed on site overnight - great accommodations with local touches that added personality. A special shout-out to John, Sergio and Pedro for their stellar service. It seems everyone is a bit of a jack of all trades, has secret recipes for favourite cocktails and a story to share from past lives. Absolutely loved our stay.

Did not stay at hotel. Booked for lunch. We had the four course taster menu. The fish courses, selection of breads and pudding were really exceptional. Excellent wines by the glass. However, have deducted one star for the wagyu beef dish: two out of four diners had chewy sinew running through their meat.

One of the best meals I’ve had in my life. Each dish was carefully prepared with delicious compliment of flavours. We did the 6 course lunch menu and I wouldn’t hesitate to go back again. Thanks for the exceptional service as well!

The coffee is the only deal breaker. Reading this fantastic menu and it wraps up with Teamed up with Nespresso. I heard the sound of Pac-Man being eaten in the video game…. I understand the need for repeatable coffee, but pod coffee to me is unacceptable if you are striving to be the best at something. Too many fantastic local roasters and choice beans to Choose from. So the challenge is, getting staff trained on how to properly extract it. Do it…. Everything else is lovely! Excellent staff, fun small bites dinner with a great wine pairing. What all the rest of the reviews say. Room was great. Breakfast seating area needs work. Super not cozy. But thats just getting picky. They are trying! 👍

Absolutely one of the singularly best restaurant dinners of our lives. Impossible to overstate this gem. The chef, an Isle of Skye native is a young culinary genius!

This tasting menu was our favorite meal during our entire 4-week honeymoon. Each course was delicious, there was a menu detailing where everything was sourced from locally, and it was fascinating to learn about their young apprentice chef who designed the incredible dessert dishes. Highly recommend!!

We came across this amazing place accidentally and enjoyed the best food we have had in our combined 8 decades of life. Had the 4-course taste menu (should have opted for the 6) but we are going back in two days, on our last night, for the 12-course evening meal. Will be worth the 2 hour drive. Not only are the ingredients fresh and local, the recipes inspired, but the five people we met working were some of the nicest and most well-informed staff ever encountered.

Fabulous lunch. We had the 6 course tasting menu, worth every penny. The recently awarded scottish restaurant of the year 2023 is well deserved. Would highly recommend booking here. One of our party is gf, the homemade breads were the best ever

Highly recommend. Lunch time tasting menu was phenomenal. Focus on local ingredients was so cool. We were provided a list of where on the island or in Scotland the ingredients had been sourced from. The staff was very professional and knowledgeable, and the service was fantastic.

Restaurant Only: We didn't stay at the lodge. #TLDR: The best dining experience I've had anywhere. A week later, my wife and I are still talking about it. We even ate at a AA 3-Rosette restaurant with a similar tasting menu the following evening. Everything they prepared for us was excellent, but none of it as good as what we had at Edinbane Lodge. That's all I'll say about the other place. I just want to emphasize how perfectly presented everything we had from them was. Edinbane's menu told a single story. Everything we ate that night was obtained locally; most within just a few miles and some from the grounds of the lodge. The food was "simple" in that none of the offerings contained more than a handful of ingredients, but those ingredients were used to perfection. Our menu had 2 mains: Monkfish and Lamb. 1) A well-prepared piece of lamb is delicious. This was incredible. Served 2 ways - one was a shoulder in a pastry basket (please forgive me, I am not a gourmet). The flavor from that was explosive. It is the only way I can describe it. Imagine food fireworks going off in your mouth and you're getting close. 2) Monkfish is a mild, whitefish. One bite told me I was eating the best monkfish I would ever have. I couldn't help but imagine the chef obsessing over every piece individually. I don't know for sure that's what was happening, but I don't know how else you make everything this perfect. I could write pages about our experience, but no one would want to read that much that hadn't already been. One last example of simple made perfection: Celery sorbet. You read that right. It wasn't a bad autocorrect. Words won't do it justice. Imaging what those 2 words put together would taste like would at best be a disappointment. It was bright and clean. It was wonderful and was presented with their interpretation of "cheese and crackers." This is such an inadequate reduction of what was sitting on that plate that I expect the authorities to show up at my door as soon as I hit "post." If you have any opportunity to visit this place before their wait list extends into the next decade, you owe it to yourself to go. It is not cheap, but it is underpriced for what you get. We will go back any time we're able. Thank you!

The menu was a fantastic range to sample. The oysters and mushroom crackers were a particular favourite. The staff were knowledgeable and polite. We met one of the chefs Andrew who was extremely charming.

We dined here in the evening so I can’t comment on the rooms. The food is an exceptional gourmet treat, which you’d expect at that price. And you need to reserve well in advance as the restaurant has quite a reputation. I’ve had to deduct one star because by about the 3rd course the table was beginning to feel a little sticky. Perhaps I’d dripped something onto the wooden tabletop because I can’t imagine that it wasn’t spotless when we arrived. Nevertheless, a tablecloth would have made the meal more comfortable. And the espresso at the end of the meal was drastically under-extracted leaving a disappointing impression on an otherwise exceptional meal.

Really wonderful restaurant on Skye. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, artistic and unlike many set menus did not leave me hungry! They catered for myself as a vegan really well, creating a beautiful menu, including pairing vegan wines specifically for my personal options. Any celebration on Skye should be celebrated here.

The Taste of Sky w/ wine pairing experience was incredible and may have been the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food blew me away and the service was top notch. 12/10.
