The first thing I’m going to do here is apologies. My photos didn’t quite come out as expected. The dining room may have been gorgeous, dimly lit for romanticism and be serving the ultimate in comfort and style – but of course my camera wasn’t too happy about that. So with that in mind, take my photos, increase the saturation by ten fold, sharpen a little and turn up the brightness – because we recently found ourselves eating in The Dining Room at Whatley Manor and it was utter heaven.
One of the best restaurants I have been. Everything has been great, though the total portion is a bit too much for me (I could not help finishing all the bread haha). The scallop is my favorite dish.
Fantastic experience and food, we went on a Sunday but didn't feel any different to if we had gone on a Friday/Saturday night. Attention to detail what you would expect from a 2 star restaurant but fun little touches to the experience and all staff friendly and accommodating
A wonderful way to celebrate a birthday! Everything was perfect. Thank you to all the staff.
Where to start. A superb experience from start to finish, a wonderful greetings on arrival the surprise visit to the kitchens for two of our courses it was great to met the brigade and head chef. The dining room staff were all excellent so friendly and informative. I can't put into words the magnificent range of tastes and textures presented to us. An all round incredible experience I would recommend.
Absolutely ‘On Point!’
As we usually do we enjoyed the tasting menu and a wine flight to match.
Ricki Weston is doing a grand job along with his team putting out wonderful plates of food. Add to that a visit to Kitchen to see where the magic happens beforehand and it turns a superb evening in to something glorious.
The waiting staff are attentive and knowledgable, throw in a delightful Sommelier and what’s not to love!
Keep up the incredible work.
PB 🙏🏻
Returned once more for dinner - enjoyed the tasting menu and everything was first class, with interesting flavours and ingredients to taste. Without exception, all courses were superb. Team is very welcoming, helpful and unobtrusive. An absolute delight to dine in the restaurant and the price reflects the quality.
I took my father and step-mum to Whatley manor, I was a bit worried as they don't always want a tasting menu. I needn't have worried they were both blown away.
The food far exceeded my expectations and easily 🌟🌟 level. Between us we tried the standard and vegetarian menus and both the cheese dishes. Everything was fantastic although my wife wasn't sure about the cheese courses, no qualms from me though. Everyone at the table had a different highlight but it was difficult to choose among so many great dishes.
The wine flight was really interesting with some delicious and some challenging choices. I enjoyed all of them except the red dessert wine we had with the cheese. It tasted like chocolate port which wasn't to my taste but my wife enjoyed it and polished my glass off happily.
I would recommend the Korean / Japanese inspired food to anyone. More accolades will follow.
The wine, the food, the atmosphere, the staff - everything was divine! Beautiful garden as well. Unlike most Michelin star restaurants, we actually came out full! It was a perfect meal!
Had a fantastic meal here, as part of a hotel with spa package. Got to meet the (Michelin 🌟) chef, and watch his team at work, whilst taking an early course in his very impressive kitchen. I'm a complete novice at the whole fine dining experience, but felt well looked after, with all courses explained, along with a wine flight that was also delivered with flair by the sommelier. Many thanks to all the staff for this experience. One (small) criticism; I personally don't like seeing service charges added to bills, just be up front about the total price, delivered to the table, I don't need to see a breakdown of your costs to do this and it feels 'wrong' and a dated practice.
Perhaps the best food we’ve ever eaten. Service impeccable, and the dining room and lounge are beautifully appointed. One star off for the matched wines, which whilst pretty good, are poor value for £75pp.
