Had an amazing roast at The Good Companions.
Service could have been a bit faster considering it wasn’t too busy, but staff were all lovely!
The pork belly was honestly the best roast pork I’ve ever had, and will definitely be coming back!
Popped in for food while staying in a nearby hotel, great friendly welcome staff moved the sign so we could park our car, food was amazing even if the portion size was a little large
We had the upstairs function room for our family occasion, our Golden Wedding anniversary. Thirteen of us. We were given the opportunity of pre-ordering, so we did. Plenty of choice. The room was just perfect, tables set out so that we could all chat. Staff were very friendly, professional and attentive but not intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was lovely, compliments to the Chef. (We all had different). Although there were quite a few of us, we all had our food at the same time. So Good Companions, thank you for making our family occasion a fantastic one. We will be back for sure 😁
Lovely food but staff appeared very stressed and hurried, whizzed past us several times before acknowledging us waiting at the bar which wasn't a warm welcome. The food was amazing but make sure you have 3/4 of an hour spare to wait for it. Had to go up to the bar to order more drinks whilst we waited for food, which is fair enough but the bar staff had told us they would come to us! Lovely pub but too many let downs on this occasion.
Just popped in without any planning and was treated to some excellent food. The best pork belly I can remember.
The pub was clean and service very attentive.
We arrived mid-afternoon on a Friday and it was pretty quiet.
Definitely coming back next time we're in the area.
Went to the Good Companions on Friday night for a Meal and couple of drinks. I had the 8oz Chuck and Short Rib Beef Burger, Chips, Onion Rings,
Salad and Home made Coleslaw. The Wife had Chicken, Bacon and Leek Pie, Mash Potato and Veg. Best Meal we've had out in a long time. I've given 5 stars across the board as in my opinion it's worth that.
Great food, great atmosphere, great and friendly service. One of my fav places in the area.
Not often can I not fault an establishment. The staffing was friendly, attentive and met all our needs. We expected to find standard pub grub, but the food was probably the best I had from what appears to be an unassuming pub in a residential area. The burgers were juicy and flavorful. I would say they are far and above of your burger specialist restaurants and the chips were crispy and we'll seasoned from the off. The Good Companions has a very relaxed and intimate atmosphere, perfect for a quiet drink, a meal or celebrating with loved ones.
Really nice pub with classic pub food done well.
We were a bit intimidated walking in to the pub with its big "Live Sky Sports" signs but were welcomed as soon as we walked in and were shown around the corner to the nicely decorated restaurant (with no TV's 👍).
Service was fast and attentive and was very reasonably priced. I would recommend this as a great stop off.
Value for money, very easy going. Small kids area out the back so you can have a drink while letting them play. Food is plentiful and reasonably priced. If you’re staying in Holiday Inn in Eastleigh, pop down here for food instead of hotel, you can’t go wrong!!
