The place absolutely sucks terrible service in my opinion whoever takes the place over it will never be run as good as the landlord who was there for over 25yrs were the food was not only excellent so was the service.

We've been to the Ferry several times since Ali, Keith & team have taken over and we have had a delicious meal and very enjoyable dining experience every time. It's not just the food and service that has been turned around since their arrival......the place has a lovely energy and ambiance that has been missing for years. So pleased that the Ferry is enjoying a much needed and much welcomed revival!

Lovely food and atmosphere. Had Sunday lunch for my husbands birthday, very easy to book a table and staff were very attentive and friendly. I have a dairy allergy and the chef prepared a roast for me that was delicious. Gutted I couldn't have the yorkshire pud it looked delicious!!

Went today for food, absolutely top notch food. Fast service and freshly cooked. Food came out hot not warm. Good price £24ish, 2 pints and 2 main meals. I would highly recommend this place. Beautiful location, nice stop off if you are out for a drive or somewhere different. Very nice staff. Huge beer garden. Hidden little gem, definitely going back.

Went for lunch with family today, the staff were all really friendly and quick to help, the food was good and the service was prompt. Everywhere was clean and well organised. The views from the beer garden are stunning, there is a play area for the kids and chickens in a coop for them to look at too.

Had a great experience visiting the pub for lunch. Seated three adults and a toddler without any issues, highchair provided too. Staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us whilst we were there. I was expecting the typical "pub grub" (frozen and straight out of the microwave) but to my delight I was served a freshly prepared curry! Had a wide selection to choose from including a range of meats too! Food was tasty and served quickly. Overall I'd definitely recommend calling in and will be going again soon! If you have found my review helpful please give it a 👍, thanks!

Not quite sure how to review this place, which we visited on a Saturday evening for a meal before a morning ferry crossing. I've given it four stars because the staff were friendly and helpful and in the end we had a nice meal. Really though, it was a shambles. Both adults ordered the salmon - a short while later the waitress came back and said they'd just sold the last one. So there were never two in the first place, or were there? Anyway, no problem, these things happen, so we changed our order to garlic chicken. It was nice. A bit odd, but nice. Then the beer. We both ordered the same: "er, Hob, er..." "Hobgoblin?" "Yes, I think so" "I'll have a pint of that then please" (actually I think it was Hobgoblin Gold, but no matter). It was off. Like really, obviously off. No problem, I'll have Guinness instead (normally safe in a pub which obviously has no idea about real ale). That was fine, very good in fact. Then, when we came to pay, the bill was too high, by loads. They had charged us for two salmons AND two chickens. That was too complicated to put right so "Dave" had to come and sort it. I guess he's the manager. The kids meal and drink was fine, so that's a positive. So in summary, we had a nice evening in the end and the staff were really nice. But room for improvement, quite a lot of improvement.

Love this place, had to wait a little longer than usual for our meals because of a large party getting served first but when we did they were superb, could not fault it and the chips are to die for. The waitress couldn't apologise enough for the wait and brought us a complimentary round of drinks for our longer wait, I explained after we polished off every thing on the plate that we would have gladly waited even longer for the food because it was that good and the staff are lovely and polite, can not wait to go back.

Fantastic Christmas Dinner today. Staff really helpful and attentive. Food piping hot and served promptly. Portions were a really good size with a large variety of vegetables. Restaurant and toilets spotlessly clean. Dave and chef (Katie) made a huge effort to ensure we had a great time. Thank you

Excellent friendly service from happy smiling staff. To seat our large party of 16 with 2 unexpected canine friends, tables and chairs had to be moved. All done in a friendly way. The food was served hot and freshly cooked. Everyone enjoyed their meals. A wonderful catch up evening for our family. Thank you Eastham Ferry Staff. It is well worth 5 stars.

First time visit for us. Wife loved it. A lovely friendly environment with a brilliant view across the Mersey. The view was strangely enhanced by the occasional tanker crossing our view on its way to the Manchester Ship Canal. Decent ale (I chose Hobgoblin Gold) we didn't eat on this visit but we could smell the meals being served which guarantees we will be returning to eat. This is a very beautiful little retreat well worth visiting.

We went to the Ferry for a family meal and booked for outside seating. We ordered our drinks and were given time to choose our meals. The staff were friendly and happy to help. My curry came with chunky chips and rice and I had been warned it was spicy, which I don't mind. The chips were hot and the rice was nice and fluffy. The chicken was well cooked and my minor fault was that the onion hadn't been cooked for long enough and still had a slight bitter taste for my liking. The curry was spicy but not too spicy and there were slices of red chilli pepper cooked through it. My son and his partner had a burger which they said were well cooked and juicy. My little grandson appeared to enjoy his chicken nuggets with bbq sauce and chips. The nuggets were chicken breast with the sauce over them. He couldn't give his opinion as he's only one but he did wolf them down. The prices were quite reasonable and sitting outside in the sun watching the planes take off was really pleasant.

Best Sunday roast I have had in a long time. Very friendly obliging staff always ready to help. The restaurant also has a dog friendly area so you can have a nice meal after walking the dog in the area

Lovely place to eat, staff are really friendly without being over bearing. I'm vegan and the options were plentiful. There were 7 in our party and everything arrived hot and timely. My wife and son ordered steaks which were perfect and came with the welcome bonus of a complimentary bottle of wine. Beats Hungry Horse hands down. Pay a visit you won't be disappointed. Will definitely be going to dine again
