Best tasting coffee in Eastbourne. Inside and outside eating area with very pleasant staff. 5 star hygiene rating. A selection of fresh and dried goods available at reasonable prices. Such as sandwiches, baps, sausage rolls, Scottish eggs and a huge variety of cakes! WiFi available too, handy for checking emails/ browsing.

Wonderful little tea shop which stocks a wide range of cakes and fancy groceries and serves excellent tea and coffee together with sandwiches, sausage rolls, for luncheon. Basic tables and chairs available both inside and outside in the sun under an awning. Charming lady hostess.

Lovely little tea room. Eccles cakes to die for. Nice lady served us. A quiet and restful half hour concluded with the purchase of some locally sourced produce.

Delicious tuna mayo granary soft large roll, absolutely delicious. Coffee, flat white not as good as usual , a latte mug was used so slightly milkier than expected. Great calming classical music playing quietly in the background. Thank you 😊

My sister and I came here for tea and a snack having left "Eats and Treats" nearby due to the uninterest of the staff there. The service at the Black Cat was friendly and efficient. The very pleasant manager (maybe owner?) noticed I hadn't finished my roll, (though I hadn't complained ) and insisted on giving me an apple cake to take home (which was delicious!) This is the sort of service which makes customers go back; which we will.

Popped in as passing, lovely looking selection of filled rolls, breads and cakes. Ordered a bacon roll and coffee, both very good. Fairly small establishment with regulars knowing where they usually sit.

A wonderful selection of cakes. Dropped to 4 stars because it's often cold due to the door being open.

Great atmosphere and lovely staff. Coffee is good and the victoria sponge was delicious. They have a huge range of cakes, so definitely coming back to taste some more!

Not sure if it is but is certainly run as a good family business. Staff work as a team to try and ensure that visitors to the cafe are made to feel like customers and not cash cows. Have stopped by there numerous times and never yet been disappointed. Cakes and pastries appear to be homemade and certainly have a nicer taste and flavour than commercial produce. Lunches are cooked to order and the cafe appears to be a favourite haunt of the locals.

Lovely place & fortunately close at hand. Poached eggs on toast may be a simple light meal but when it's done right, it's delightful and the staff at the black cat have the knack of doing such things bang on. Sweet surroundings & friendly, pleasant people.. what's not to like. And the coffee's good, too.

Black Cat. What a lovely charming little tearooms in Meads. Excellent friendly helpful staff. Nice menu. Great place for a meal, tea/coffee, relax and a chat. Best Latte I have had for a long time! The cakes are brilliant, homemade! Wholesome and tasty, lots of choice. Perfect place to have some breakfast, (All day BF) or lunch in the Meads area. 10 out of 10!

Such a sweet little cafe with friendly staff who went out of their way to rustle us up something off the menu very kindly. A great cake selection too. It's nice to see some more old fashioned cafe/tea rooms still flourishing amongst some faceless, bland competitors.

Lovely small restaurant, serving tea, coffee, cakes, sandwiches and some hot meals. You are made to feel welcome, and once ordered service is quick. My brie and cranberry sandwich was excellent, and the prices are very reasonable!

Lovely little tearoom with a limited lunch menu including a "specials board". Good ambience and value for money but very limited seating and very popular so prepare to be disappointed at busy periods! Very good homemade food and lovely cakes - I will return!!

Gorgeous quaint little coffee shop with an assortment of cakes and condiments. Coffee and hot chocolate were amazing and the ladies behind the counter were just the nicest women.
