Excellent service chatty friendly waiter and awesome food I would definitely recommend this restaurant 100%
Best italian restaurant from the area. Good food with the best taste ever. Thanks Gianni's for the good time spent here !
In Eastbourne tonight with my girlfriend, we had the best pizza we have ever tasted, and the Spaghetti Bolognese was top notch as well, served by a brilliant host called Nico who went above and beyond, would most definitely not bother looking for another place to eat if we came again
Fabulous meal there last night. Bruschetta magnificent, Linguine Verdi fabulous,
Decent house wine, all finished off with a chic ice-cream affogato. Divine,,! Thank you!
Great atmosphere and amazing food. Would totally recommend. 10/10
First thing - atmosphere, the best in Eastbourne. Waiter was really friendly and funny. We spend lovely evening just with glass of wine and really enjoyed it. And the wine was delizioso !!
Simple food, done really very well. I’d recommend it.
Absolutely beautiful. Would definitely return and recommend
The best food and service in Eastbourne. Thank you!
Authentic great staff and lovely atmosphere. Recommended
Very welcoming staff and excellent food !
Delicious authentic Italian food. We had a brilliant night out at Giannis. X
Top quality food, served by the most wonderful of staff. Excellent antipasti platter starter, fabulous mains, all so enjoyable. A lovely discovery.
Not a bad place. We had rather mixed experiences. Reviews about this place are great, but there are some buts. On the plus side - excellent waiters, polite and smiling. The pizza we chose looked good, but it was absolutely not tasty. We were glad we didn't order a larger one. The dessert was quite tasty, but £7.50 is too much I think.
Of the minuses, terribly uncomfortable wooden furniture, you won’t sit for a long time. The toilet room is good, but at the time of our arrival, the drain button was not working.
Not even sure if I can recommend this place.
My experience here was really lovely. The staff here are just full of smiles and so patient. Our food was absolutely lovely and tasty. We got a pizza and spaghetti bolognese. The ice cream was very creamy and smooth as well.
Visited last night as our first night in Eastbourne. The staff were so friendly and sweet. The food was lovely, the atmosphere was a vibe and the service was quick. I would definitely recommend if you are in the area. Thank you for a lovely evening!
Ordered a metro pinsa. It did not disappoint. It tasted incredible! We went for carbonara, italia D.O.C, friareilli and pollo o rosto (the gravy for this one was AMAZING). Highly reccomend visiting here. Ordered a few spritzers which were good as well
Good food, their gelato is my favourite!
On busy days, food can be a long wait, we waited for 40 minutes. Atmosphere is good.
We only stopped for drinks outside in the sun. I'd recommend getting a beer if you do this, our cocktails were that watery sugar combo - not great. However the service was really nice and inside smelled amazing. We'll definitely come for food some other time.
We had dinner here during our trip to Eastbourne, we arrived late in the evening and everywhere else had closed. We came across Gianni's and they were still serving. We were welcomed with a smile and the ladies were so lovely throughout our meal. The restaurant had nice decor and a nice atmosphere. The meals were reasonably priced and tasty. Would recommend.
I come to Eastbourne regularly from East Surrey and always come to this restaurant. Fantastic food, reasonably priced, great atmosphere and brilliant customer service. The team are so well trained and all appear so happy in their work which for me is always a sign of a great place to eat. Visited with an Italian friend yesterday and she absolutely loved it so that tells you something!
Why are there not more Roman Pinsa restaurants in the UK? Since 2008 when the original Franco Manco opened in Brixton market, we’ve had traditional Neopolitan style pizzas pop up across the UK. Yet, we have only one certified Romana Pinsa restaurant, Giannis Italian restaurant in Eastbourne. Pinsa is so different from a Neopolitan pizza, it’s not really a pizza at all, it’s an insult to compare them !
From the flours used in the base, the shape, taste and texture of the base and also a lot of the toppings used, are all different from a pizza. Only one of the 13 Pinsa’s on the menu uses a tomato sauce and even this is nothing like the sauce used on a pizza. The bread base is crispy and sturdy and can hold lots of toppings, not soft and sloppy in the middle like a Neopolitan pizza base, which I also adore.
The lovely Aleksandra who owns the place with her husband Gianni the expert Pinsa master creator, suggested we tried a half metre Pinsa to share. This was 4 different Pinsa’s of our choice, giving us 2 slices of each flavour for £35. We’d driven 2 hours just to try the only official Rome certified Pinsa restaurant in the UK, so we went for it. It was a pleasure and a challenge for the 2 of us to get through the 16 slices, but they were all so gorgeous we managed it after a short break. It could have easily fed 4 normal eaters for lunch. This place also does Neopolitan style pizzas, which I’m sure are also amazing with all the normal toppings you’d expect, but try a Pinsa for a change. Will definitely make the trip to Eastbourne again, just to for a Pinsa.
