One of these very few places in England where you can eat great food and drink good fresh beer a perfect place at least for me
A little gem of a place. The food is superb with a seasonal specials menu and the pub is very cosy and welcoming. Dogs are permitted. There are three rooms above the pub to stay in. I have now stayed in two of them and have been extremely impressed by the decor, size and facilities. Water plus complimentary tea and coffee are provided and the breakfast is excellent. Lisa the landlady is lovely and remembered me from my stay last year. The pub is about a twenty five minute walk from Eastbourne town centre and a few minutes only from the seafront..an ideal location! Off street parking is also provided. Highly recommended (actually I kind of wish I hadn't reviewed this because I don't want anyone else to find this treasure!)
Thank you for a brilliant weekend stay
Best meal we have had for a long time the Belly Pork is to die for. Excellent service and cosy surroundings. Highly recommend a visit. We will be there again on our next visit fro Yorkshire 👍🏻
A great pub, with lots of inside seating & a wonderful sunny terrace area outside, with a very wide selection of food & drinks, I enjoyed lovely fish & chips. I would certainly recommend to my friends & family.
We had a fantastic stay. The food was delicious! The staff are very friendly. Great location, lovely room and a fab quirky feel to the place. Great value and would certainly recommend. X
Lovely food good service but not enough room to get in the table but otherwise enjoyable lunch

This is a lovely pub for dinner with friends, meal choices good and I can't choose as so many options but I usually go for a pie as this is my weakness and they're so good with veg and gravey 😊
Our 1st visit and we were very impressed, the landlady was fab all the staff were helpful and polite. the food was delicious and a good choice of wines. Definitely go back on our next visit

The pub was very busy but that's why the atmosphere was fantastic.
The food was excellent and the staff were so attentive and cheerful to say they were so busy.
We will definitely be coming again
Absolutely fantastic place! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by the staff! The atmosphere is great, the garden is lovely and the bar staff amazing, the food looked absolutely amazing but there was unfortunately no more tables available for us......definitely next time
Had an excellent evening here on our first visit. Staff were a delight. The evening dinner was excellent. Service was really enjoyable.
Beer was just right, too. Nice friendly atmosphere in pleasant surroundings.
I was a little wary about a pub stay to be honest. When I saw website I was ok let’s see. It was welcoming and worth it. I would stay again hospitality was lovely. Food was good too. Thank you!!
To add this was recommended by my partners work colleague.
Nice relaxed pub, run by a really friendly team who made both the humans and the dog very welcome. Pleasant small garden, nice airy lounge bar with pleasant and comfy furnishings, a really nice space to spend time in.
Food really good; especially loved the Angus burger. Desserts sounded great, if only we hadn't been full already!
We had a delicious lunch and the staff were very nice and the service was very good. It's attractively decorated with memorabilia and flora and fauna separated into several little nooks.
It's right by the start of the Seven sisters walk from Eastbourne down a little side street with a little car park.
It is a very nice pub in its own right. We didn't stay in the place but we only visited the pub. although it was crowded, the service was very fast. also the staff were very attentive, they immediately found a table and took care of us. whether you are a local or a tourist, it is a place you should not pass by.
Booked for lunch last Saturday, all easily done on Internet. Parking no problem, lovely decor, staff were excellent, food delicious, changed my sons meal without any fuss, cannot fault. Would highly recommend.
Had a decent Sunday afternoon meal, roasts were good (beef and lamb) and as was the burger and pie if the day (steak pie) - good location but watch out where you park, check the signs we ended up with a parking ticket
We had a lovely welcome at The Pilot Inn. We were given Room 3 which had a freestanding copper bath in the corner of the room. There were windows on two aspects, fabulous bed, wet room, coffee pod machine, biscuits, kettle and further coffee & tea making facilities, a fan, a heater, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, fridge and loads of towels and bathroom smellies. The pub is close to the seafront and situated in the nicer part of town. Dinner and breakfast were delicious! We shall try and come back later in the year for a nothing treat.
I can highly recommend the pilot inn, each time my grandad comes over from the Isle of Wight I also bring him here as he loves their fresh fish and he is very particular about his food! I'm a vegetarian and find the options are lovely also, the staff are always pleasant, there is a small car park and it's within walking distance to Eastbourne's lovely beach front afterwards! The meal portions are very good and in general I think the food menu is great!
I visited this pub with my wife, 2 kids (one a small baby), a friend and their dog.
The service was to an exceptional standard. We were greeted at the door and despite being extremely busy, they found us a table and brought over a high chair.
Drinks orders were taken really quickly and delivered to the table. Service we quick and we were checked on a couple of times, in a really polite and happy manner to see if we needed anything else. This despite how busy the place was, shows how well run the pub is.
We didn't have time to eat but we will next time as all the food going out looked tasty and I didn't see plate go back with any food left on it!
When it was time to leave we were given our bill and payment was taken quickly. No service charge added, which is rare these days.
Great customer service, lovely food, nice atmosphere in very pleasant surroundings. Staff very helpful and attentive. Good choice of beers and ciders. Chef needs to learn how to cook brocc though, it was pre aldente! lol 🥦. I would definitely go back and am happy to recommend
Stopped by to pay deposit on our pre- Christmas family meal and decided to enjoy the autumn sun in the garden with drinks and nibbles as it is such a
Lovely atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff
The food was cooked to perfection, their sweet chilly pork bites are to die for! The pub atmosphere is great and the interior is nice and warm. Definately recommend!
