To be very honest I had one of the best fish and chips I ever had. The fish was very fresh and staff is excellent and very welcoming.
It's worth travelling from London to Eastboure dolphins fish bar just to have fish and chips.

First time here after reading the reviews, so had high expectations and we weren't disappointed.
The place is clean (spotless), friendly and very welcoming. Service with a smile and a friendly chat and very efficient. The food is tasty, hot and delicious.
We've been there twice for the lovely fish and chips. This time, we added a luscious beef and onion pie. It had a flaky yet moist crust, a rich gravy and great overall flavor. We absolutely adore the onion rings and so far, we've only had the haddock. Delicious both times. Great service, cooked to order so prepare to wait on take away, but they have a dining room for service as well.
Great variety of fresh fish expertly cooked and chips crisp and luscious! Lovely friendly staff who always go the "extra mile" to look after customers needs. Must be the best Fish&Chips" on the South Coast. !
Visited yesterday for the first time. Staff could not have been more helpful in accommodating my requests. spotlessly clean and beautiful restaurant. We sat outside at tables decorated with real flowers and watched as more and more people queued up for the best tasting chips i have had the pleasure of tasting in a very long time, and i live in a town with an awarding winning chippy!..this place beat it hands down in my opinion. good looking waiter too :-)
Go here regularly & eat in. The staff are just great, so friendly & attentive. Great varied menu & nothing disappoints.
These really are the best fish and chips myself and my husband have ever eaten thank-you for such lovely hospitality when we come again we will definitely be coming for another visit :) xx

Absolutely the best fish and chips you can find in Eastbourne, £11.50 for cod and chips including a pot of curry sauce. The chips were crisp and perfectly fried, the fish was amazing. Don't waste your time looking for somewhere better than the dolphin because there isn't one around.
Treat your self's, you won't be disappointed.
Omg! The BEST fish and chips I've EVER had! The fish was beautiful, flaky and fresh and the chips were spot on! The lady that served me was very pleasant and made my day! Will definitely return when I'm in Eastbourne next!
In my opinion this is the best fish and chips shop in Eastbourne and beyond. Tried it numerous times while visiting Eastbourne and the food is always fresh and tasty! Their cod protions are nicely sized and never oily (which happens a lot in other places). Also we are always served with politeness and a smile. Recommened!
The fish & chips I ordered were well done, and was just the right portion. The order was for medium Cod and Chips, with two Gerkins and a can of Coke Zero. It was only around the corner from where I was staying, so it was just a short walk away.
Easy to find and just a short walk from the seafront the dolphin was great. Friendly, speedy service and super fresh fish makes for a perfect chippy. If I lived closer I would be a regular. Very good value for the quality of ingredients they are using.
I must say I never had a thinner and more crispy batter on a fish (could be more salty thats the only thing I could find wrong with it). Chips nice and crisp outside and mushy inside. Service would be perfect if I was asked for if I want a side od mushy peas or given napkins for my takeaway order.
Came to Eastbourne Beach for the weekend and had fish and chips from Dolphin Fish Bar. Ordered 2 large and 2 regular cod and chips. Wonderful service and excellent quality fish and chips. Thank you so much. Family loved it. 👌😋👍

Very tasty food. I had 1/2 chicken- sooo juicy, other half had large cod and cheesy chips and it was cooked to perfection. Fish so fresh and flaky, just falling apart! Couldn't find the chips under all that melted cheese, yum, absolute heaven! Service with a smile. A review from a stuffed and utterly satisfied customer. Will definitely be back soon. Good fish and chips, not bad prices and friendly staff. Good seating area inside if don’t want to brave the seagulls down the beach.
It was suggested to me as a fantastic fish. Food was good, but I guess the expectations had been built to high. Seemed a bit pricey too.
Been visiting since travelling down to Eastbourne since about 2003 after working at a school nearby.
We visit Eastbourne approximately 5 - 6 times a year and always finish the day here, mostly a take out so we can enjoy the sea views before our return drive to Orpington Kent.

Excellent fish and chip shop. Just 2 minutes from the seafront and you can get amazing fish and chips. We had the large cod, large chips, sausage in batter, mushy peas and curry sauce. Delicious!!!

Fish and Chips is a national dish so obviously you will find it everywhere in UK.
There is nothing like a good fish and chip with lashings of salt and vinegar.
Dolphin Fish Bar is raved as the best in Eastbourne, it is family run and has been around for over 40 years.
The location was a bit off the radar for me as I don't have a car but I am so glad I finally tried it.
When you walk in, you are greeted by the typical glass cabinet, pickled eggs etc.
The menu is behind the counter.
Without further ado, I ordered the cod and chips with curry sauce.
There are other fishes available but for starters I felt I had to have the cod.
It took a while to come but it was totally worth the wait!!!!
Before even trying it, it was visually impressive.
Every chip was uniformly blonde and perfect.
The fish was evenly coated and the batter had an even coat that was just the right thickness.
After taking pictures, I just dived in, every chip was so delicious, it was soft and fluffy inside with a strong potato taste.
The fish was more than perfect, the cod was flakey and chunky inside the crispy batter.
As for the curry sauce, every chippie has it's own recipe so it depends if you prefer the sauce sweeter, spicier etc.
Basically it was so damn good, I could have it every day if I was nearby!
Chips were a bit crunchy for my tastes, I prefer softer chips still it was nice food, bit of a small portion for the price but was satisfied
Haven't been here for ages. The quality of the food was excellent. Prices have increased, but you get what you pay for. Would definitely recommend.
Probably the best fish and chippy around. Fish battered and cooked to perfection right in front of me. Chips spot on.
