Visited Sunday in early March for a Sunday Roast, we booked in their dog friendly room, which is in the old snug area of the pub. Lovely country pub environment with very welcoming and lovely staff. We both ordered starters and I had the 3 meat roast which was yummy, nothing flash just great food an
Popped in Sunday afternoon and was nicely greeted by the landlady, busy but was acknowledged and placed order for Sunday lunch and a pint of ale. The roast dinner was plentiful and well cooked. I was given extra dish of cauliflower cheese to my surprise as well as mint sauce to accompany the lamb.
Lovely Pub with a nice atmosphere and beer garden. Probably one of the best Sunday Roasts I've had out anywhere too! Staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely worth visiting if you're in Mersea
Very nice little pub on East Mersea for both locals and holiday visitors. Friendly professional staff, nice beer, local brew Captain Bob goes done a treat. Food is great, nice gardens and pleasant surroundings. Worth a visit. Had a burger and chips scored an easy 9/10
We ordered the Pie of the day and Sausage with mash. Both were delicious. The gravy and season veggies are perfect. Separate table area which is dog-friendly. No frills pub with great food. What more would you need after a day running around the island.
Wow they welcomed me and my dog the meal was lovely, glad I phoned and reserved table. Booked for tomorrow too whilst I stay at fen farm camping site for the weekend. The food was great and the lager cold and wet lovely
I love this pub. We get a great welcome from staff who know our names and remember our regular order. Dogs welcome in one bar. Food is excellent. Fish and chips highly recommended.
Lovely VERY FRIENDLY WELCOMING pub. Nice location although not facing the estuary. Good food too ! Looking forward to returning in warmer weather to use the beer garden
Had a good lunch a this pub today. They were very accommodating as we arrived a few minutes after the close for lunchtime orders. I can recommend the chips they were excellent. My mother really enjoyed the bangers and mash.
Very tasty lamb shank, fish and chips looked delicious to. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Clean and cozy. We will be back.
Lovely old pub serving real Ale at the right temp. We did not have food here. The garden is really well kept with plenty of tables.
disabled access able. dog friendly, engaging staff, relaxed, friendly atmosphere and good prices. I really couldn't complain about anything if I tried.
Amazingly friendly and welcoming pub, fantastic service and we would come here again just for the food which was immense - fish and chips were really "whale and chips" given the size of them and soooo fresh, we have never eaten such delicious fish and chips. Chips were to die for and the ambience in
Best pub going by far for beverages and food . Staff and 10/10 . Will not be disappointed.. fish and chips highly recommended.
We had a lovely dinner in there last night. I had the lamb, which it was beautiful. My partner had a beef burger, and he said it was the best burguer he ever had, thick and tasty. Really nice food and very good attention as well. Truly recommend it
A really warm welcome by the lovely staff. The garden is immaculate, with plenty of well spaced tables. My scampi was accompanied by the best triple cooked chips I have ever had.
