Fabulous relaxing weekend stay at The Royal Oak in Mulberry Cottage. Excellent food and the breakfast was first class. Friendly helpful staff couldnt do enough for you. Would definitely come again. Highly recommended.
Great food and good service.
Would recommend booking as we were lucky to get a table on a Saturday evening.. A little expensive but had a great time..All the staff were friendly and efficient.
I had lunch with a friend yesterday and we both chose fish and chips and agreed that the fish was the best we have ever tasted. Your pud involving ice cream, a shot of expresso, a shot of Amaretto and Amaretto biscuits was out of this world - a really grown up pudding. All in all, fabulous...

Very good place it was expensive but jolly nice
We went last night and we had excellent evening, good food and the waitress was so lovely.
A group of friends dined here last night and it was an absolutely wonderful experience which we all thoroughly enjoyed. One of those special places where atmosphere, the charming old building, superb service, and top class food combine to make it a "wow" place to spend time. We all loved it! Huge thanks to Susie and our lovely waitress whose name I forgot, sorry.
While holidaying nearby we booked a table here for Sunday lunch.
I can honestly say this is the best food I've had for a very long time and although not cheap, is in my opinion, excellent value. I had roast beef and it was amazing, very generous portion too.
Even my fussy kids raved about their burger and chips (best chips he's ever had according to my teenage son) .
The staff were all extremely polite, helpful and professional. We had an excellent lunch time. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Excellent room - large & light, with a very good bathroom. Bar & restaurant area was large and comfortable, with a good ambience. Food was exceptionally good - interesting and well presented. Service was first rate, and we were made very welcome.
A very good pub indeed.
Well worth a detour and stop. PDG Hddock and chips! Nice ales...I will be back soon.
Back again for excellent customer service and good food!
The staff just make it work so well. The manager is a real gem, knows what she's doing.
Go, you'll not be disappointed. 👌👍
Over night in the area with dog, and needed a dog friendly Inn. The accomadstion was good with spacious bath room, good quality towels and bedding. Fabulous dog bed provided. Food was excellent, trout and ham hock for our starters, burger, and chicken and leek pie for mains, followed by two amazing desserts, a negroin and great dessert wine. Staff were very good and what a great front of house chap was Hamish. We had a wonderful exchange of banter and he is a shining star destined for much more!! A most enjoyable visit. Sue R Copland.
Had a table booked inside for 6:30 which was a perfect time to eat and meant that the pub was not to busy.
Had a lovely bottle or Rosa (journeys end) which was lovely and not expensive.
The food was fab and the waiter and waitress were really friendly and efficient.
Great food, great drink, great pub well worth a visit.
This is one of my most favourite country pubs in the area. From Sunday roasts to burgers the food is consistently excellent. The atmosphere inside is cosy and the sun trap front garden is great for dining on a nice sunny day. Service is also consistently excellent with staff being very friendly and attentive. The only downside, which is no fault of the pub’s other than it’s popularity, is that if the small adjacent car park is full and you’re forced to park along the road then you may encounter some local self-declared traffic wardens who leave weightless notes on your car windshield. Be sure to keep the beautiful quaint countryside free of litter and pop the notes back through the writer’s letterbox.
Lovely country pub with great food and service! I would highly recommend. We both had the homemade sausage roll for starter which was amazing! And I had the steak & ale pie and my partner had the 'Nduja sausage pasta. Both dishes were great!
the food was amazing. some of the best roast potatoes i’ve ever had. My son had burger and chips and said they were amazing.
one here for a weeks holiday but will return if here again.
Fabulous food! Stayed in Lavant for a couple of nights and booked this pub for our first night meal. It was so good - food, service and ambience - that we went back the next night! Best fish and chips I have ever had. Will hopefully be back sometime.
Very good pub dinner, all the classics but elegantly done. Pleasant location and good staff who had by chance invented a rather glorious marmalade cocktail.
A thoroughly enjoyable lunch after a very long walk. Staff were attentive and food delicious.
We came for dinner on a Friday night, had a lovely evening, food and service were great, dog friendly too.
What a lovely place to enjoy lunch or dinner. Perfectly located in East Lavant, great to sit outside, excellent ambiente indoors, very nice and competent team, great food, we will be back.
Excellent. Great room and fabulous breakfast. The only tiny rub was fruit juice wasn't signposted for breakfast so we didn't get any, but a very good stay.
Great location and very welcoming.
We went as a family group of 14 people over 3 generations.
Food choices great for everyone, well presented and very tasty.
Staff were very friendly and professional.
We all had such a lovely time.
