I visited from the United States in July. The food was fantastic, the rooms were amazing (clean and beautifully decorated); the general ambiance was astonishing and the manager was polite and charming. I would highly recommend this facility.
The Crown and Horns is my favourite pub of all time , food is beautiful , atmosphere is amazing and the staff are just awesome ! Everyone needs this place in their life :-)
Superb lunch menu, excellent food well prepared and presented and reasonably priced too.

Great catch up with friends and some lovely nibbles.
Popped in for lunch whilst on a hike and although the menu looked good with gluten free options, it also looks expensive and nothing was really suitable for a light lunch. The pub looked nice with tables inside and out with a good range of beers and friendly staff. Its just off the A34 in the middle of the village with a car park so would be a good stop off on a long journey.
The crown and horns is a beautiful Pub with 11 letting rooms, it has extensive indoor and outdoor seating areas.
Jane (the manager) was a fantastic host, a very pleasant lady and the coffee was exceptional..(very rich and flavoursome)
My work took me to every area of this pub including the letting rooms.. they looked cosy and inviting. (Photos)
Although not busy at the time I was there, it must be a popular place to eat as a lot of the tables were being reserved for evening service and the phone was going periodically to make new bookings.
Well worth a visit if your on Newbury !!

Brilliant pit stop on our bike ride, first since regulations relaxed, Will. Have to call in again, great food, lovely staff. 12 out of 10. Update October 2023, so happy to say all is well, just as brilliant, pleased with our return visit (pit stop) getting to be a habit, Great.

Not my first time there but this time little disappointment 😕, pork belly not the best and service slow despite not many customers.
Let's hope one of these days.
Myself and my family stopped off here for lunch on the way to Southampton and will definitely return if we are in the area again! The pub was dog friendly and even gave her a little treat. The food was served quickly and was gorgeous, very generous serving sizes. We ordered a kids pasta and it was the perfect size for my 5 year old :) everywhere was super clean and it was also accessible for my disabled grandfather. Very impressed x

I had a business meeting with a colleague and we decided to stop here and grab a coffee and some light bites. The food was absolutely delicious, a great choice and the flavours were splendid, so much so we decided to stay around to enjoy dinner. The atmosphere was spot on & superb service from the waitresses. I certainly recommend to all and will return with the family to enjoy a meal at the earliest opportunity
Delicious, delicious, delicious. We first visited on the drive home from holiday, starved, and we were not disappointed! We enjoyed a fantastic Sunday roast in the courtyard with our dog and we’re made most welcome by the team. Having enjoyed our visit so much h we returned this weekend and enjoyed a lovely hearty pub lunch and again the food was fantastic, there was plenty of it, great quality and delicious. Well done chef and team! We look forward to coming back again soon.

I had dinner last night at the Crown & Horns for the first time. I do not normally write reviews however I felt I should in this case. I would highly recommend this establishment to either take yourself and partner or family out. The atmosphere was great and the restaurant was absolutely full, the deco was lovely, nice and clean and the staff extremely polite, friendly, efficient, attentive and professional. As for the food...I thought I had died and gone to heaven....seriously the food was amazing. I had lamp shank and my partner had pork chop. The food was absolutely amazing, nice presented, tasted delicious and we didn't have to wait. We WILL be back again. This place is amazing ...seriously this place is GREAT !!!! 10/10
Recommended by friends as a last minute lunch venue before we travelled back to Notts. Worth every penny. My husband enjoyed his Lamb shank and me the fish, crushed new garlicky potatoes and asparagus. Simply scrumptious and we then indulged in the superb apple pie and creamy custard. The service was second to none and we would definitely return, thank you so much!
