20/8/23 Sunday lunch. We had the Roast dinner, my wife had Beef and I had the Gammon. Must say this was the best Roast Dinner we have had for a long time. Really tasty food, cooked really well (compliments to the chef), and generous portions.
Too full to have a desert, so we had a takeaway desert.
Worth every penny (also had drinks so the cost is including drinks).
Really friendly service from the Staff. Will definitely recommend for anyone including families, and will return as soon as we can. Thank you.
March '23 - The Waldegrave Arms, an off the beaten path, Grade Lloyd listed 16th century inn, popular with walkers and those wishing a quieter, less fractious pub experience.
Really thick stone walls, a very large outdoor area, kids climbing frame, real ale and home cooked food.
The immediate future is somewhat ambivalent. It is up for sale.
Great Sunday lunch - very reasonably priced (especially compared to others in the area) for a proper home cooked roast, with lots of meat & gravy. Would recommend for food, or for a casual pint
What a complete joy. The welcome, the log fire we were seated by and the fabulous food. Also real flowers and proper napkins, top marks. A fine chicken casserole, crab linguine followed by crumble and a stunning bread and butter pudding. We really were not aiming to come here but I am so glad we "came to the wrong place ". We will be back!
Amazing Sunday lunch today, lovely food, couldn’t fault anything. Staff friendly and helpful. I had the pork, my partner had the beef.
Great village pub! Delicious Sunday roasts, draft beer and dog friendly.
The starters were imo, overpriced. £8 for ham terrine with 2 rock hard slices of bread £7 for 1 off 6mm slice 50mm diameter of cheese on 2 tomatoes. FfS 🤷🏻♂️
The mains were great portions and well presented, very tasty.
The dessert was meringue with cream and blackberry topping..
Beers were good and tasty..
Next time I won't bother with prentious starters and enjoy the rest...
Drove past the Waldegrave Arms today and saw this sign -What a fantastic community service they offer.
My wife and I stopped for lunch after a dog walk today. Friendly service very nice lunch and well kept beer. Shame these village pubs are not used more. East Harptree is a large village and this could be a great social hub and would be missed if lost. To all villages use your pubs and shops or they will be gone.
Recently got a new landlord. Now is a lively community pub that does great food.
Approx 1 year in and the pub is great. Pizzas are superb
Always an absolute joy going to the Waldegrave. Proper draught beer, delicious food and friendly staff. Definitely worth popping in if you are in the area!
Delicious food and very well priced. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff
Really good friendly service here. I had a Moving Mountain veggie burger for the first time based on the house recommendation, it was the best burger I have ever eaten, not just veggie.
Ale was kept really well too. Would definitely return. Staff are great.
A fabulous place to eat, meet and relax. Family of 10 and we all thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunch, the menu is carefully thought out and brilliantly executed with more than just roast dinners available on sundays. Service was attentive but not over bearing, just prefect for a long lazy lunch in a beautiful place
