This is an amazing community based pub with great drinks, excellent service and unique ideas. I would highly recommend the ‘tav’.
Possibly one of my all time favourite places! Love the gins (marmalade gin is my ❤️) love the people and we came to the quiz last night which was brilliant, so much fun and amazing mid quiz snacks - can't recommend this place enough xx
Lovely place with an amazing list of gin to try! The gin platter is such a great idea. And I can walk home
thoroughly deserve the best bar in Northamptonshire award.
such a lovely change to have a relaxing drink in an adult only welcoming, relaxing, convivial bar. cant recomend highly enough.
A wonderful friendly lively village pub. Great beers and lovely friendly staff. Love it
A fine example of a 'micropub'. Huge range of quality gins as well as a full choice of cask ales, bottles of craft beer, cider boxes, wines etc. A real gem of a place.
Love this pub. Great atmosphere. Lovely staff. Dogs very welcome. 5 star every time
First time in the Saxon loved it! Such a fab place to go we will be back! And I've found a gin I love! Thank you xx
Fantastic place for escaping the normality of life staff friendly and funny x
Don't want to write a good review because I want to keep this Gem to myself, great beers, gins and my favourite Ciders, Polly, Nessy and Bonnie are just great fun , I have walked out of the Saxon so many times with sore ribs from laughing , I held my 50th party there and they were the perfect hostesses and the food prepared by Nessy was brilliant. So Don't come here please and leave this perfect micro pub alone ....!!!!!
A fabulous little gem. Enjoyed our Christmas Eve 2017 here. Thanks for topping off a fantastic night. Although we're just passing through Earls Barton we promise to come back soon.
Home from home wonderful people atmosphere & ale one of my top bars in Northants
Lovely spot of ale in a super village 👍
Best pub in Barton ... Best Beer Best Atmosphere Best Everything
Best pub in Northants and Earls Barton, it has the award to prove it.
A great dog friendly micropub, with a nice atmosphere, could do with a regular dark ale from my point of view but otherwise a cracking pub!
This place is a real treasure.
Real Ales out the barrel. Wide range of top quality Gin, cocktails, wine and cider.
Staff and owner are lovely, friendly, chatty.
Prices are excellent. Regular events are on, so keep a look out on Facebook.
Highly recommended.
Lovely little traditional pub, serving a selection of craft beers.
No Juke Box, no pool table, no slots, just a nice place to have a drink and chat.
Dog friendly too! 🐕
Great little place. Friendly and good beer. But a shame that some of the beers ran out early on a Friday evening. Luckily other good beers available but they ran out too.
But a happy place to go and I'd defo recommend.
Staying overnight at a hotel in Sywell but wanted a good pint before dinner. Found The Saxon Tavern via Google search of best pubs in the area. Great result - the beer was excellent and the atmosphere brilliant. Soon got chatting to some of the many locals in the bar at 4pm . The landlady is a real star, making strangers feel very welcome. Will be back if I'm in the area again.
Great little find. Great selection of cider and ale. Why can't most other pubs have a selection on offer like the Saxon tavern does? We have a pub 3 minutes walk away in gt billing and still prefer to taxi over to Earl's Barton! The misses loves it there. They accept card payments now and the staff are great. 5 stars from us
BEST PUB EVER
This pub is without question the best around. The drinks are real and the service and atmosphere is all-round fantastic.
The decor is fantastic and the products available are even better. There are adequate toilet facilities and a large car park conveniently situated right next to a cash machine. Excellent.
Lovely pub with great selection of ales served from the cask. Nice selection of local gins and vodkas too. We'll be returning
Great little place always packed normal for it to be standing only. Well kept ciders, real ale and gins
A bit of a locals pub, with an ok selection of beer. Cask ales.served straight from the barrel and draught lager, a few craft bottles in the fridge. The guy serving (probably the owner) was a nice, friendly chap. Felt a bit quirky inside, quite cosy with a few tables. Boxes of board games available too.
Good location, right in the centre of Earls Barton. Not very obvious from outside though.
