We had another great visit to Ian's tearoom today. We had a chilli rice and roasted vegetable dish followed by chocolate rice cake and a raspberry cashew cheesecake with a pot of tea. The food is amazing, so tasty, so colourful and so nicely presented. Everything is made freshly to order and Ian makes you feel so welcome. We enjoyed sitting in the courtyard garden which Ian has recently opened in the glorious sunshine too. Thank you for another great Vegan meal Ian. Dymchurch is so lucky to have you there and so are we!
This tearoom is AMAZING! Delicious food and a wonderful owner. Highly recommend and the hot chocolate is to die for! So incredibly happy there is a vegan option close to home. Thanks Ian!
Even if you’re not vegan it’s a must visit!
Came in for a drink today with my partner, we ended up having smoothies, soup and a platter of cakes! Lovely little tea room and a very welcoming and chatty owner, would recommend for all! Thanks!
Just visited the Mortar & Pestle for the first time with my daughter, who is not vegan, food was lovely and the service was good. I will be going back!
Everything is home made and fresh, the raw carrot cake was yummy!
Wonderful vegan food, especially the cakes and smoothies, probably the best I've ever had
Lovely coffee and really nice cake, and Ian was really friendly even though we came in just as he was about to close up - I'll definitely go back for a proper meal next time I visit Dymchurch.
Decided to visit the tea room after being told about it by a non-vegan friend of my husband. Really enjoyed a freshly made wrap and delicious chocolate fridge cake. My husband, who isn't vegan, was impressed with coffee made with oatmilk and the chocolate fridge cake. Friendly service - will definitely be calling there again.
Yes indeed I did love it. We had delicious wraps a smoothie Coffee and Hot Chocolate and the best cake served with jam and cream -amazing what a find will be back soon. Oh and lovely friendly owner.
Visited today and had the wraps and smoothie. Absolutely gorgeous and tasted divine. The food is freshly made so you wont be dissapointed. Have a go
Popped in yesterday after a lovely dog walk on the beach. We had two beautiful cakes, carrot and apple pie, they were delicious! We can’t wait to visit again and try the soup and other treats.
Good selection of vegan food and drink, I had a pasta bake, blueberry smoothie and a pineapple cheesecake.
The pasta was well flavoured and nicely cheesy and came with a well dressed side salad.
The cheesecake was light and tasty with a very rich and delicious base.
The smoothie was very generously portioned and was very refreshing.
Would definitely recommend as the food was top notch and the service was friendly and efficient.
Extremely tasty vegan cheese sandwich and vegan cheesecake (both were gluten free too) - served in a cosy and quaint back garden. Worth seeking out amongst all the hustle & bustle of Dymchurch in the summer.
Homemade food, deserts and drinks - we enjoyed the pasta and curry followed by a scone and chocolate cake - all vegan
Delicious food, lovely little tearoom. The service is a little slow but that's because everything is freshly made.
We came here for lunch after reading some good reviews and it was definitely worth the trip! The food was AMAZING!
I had the Buddha bowl and my partner had a wrap. He voted it the best vegan food he had had so far.
The portions are generous and the prices reasonable.
The service was brilliant. Really friendly and welcoming.
Definitely come and eat here!
Amazing vegan cafe with lovely hospitality!
Stumbled across this place when we needed a bite before heading to the beach.
We had the Buddha bowl for two which was delicious, an amazing portion and fantastic value for money! We seemed to get a bit of everything that was left, which was perfect as each dish was incredibly tasty!
Also grabbed an oat milk hot chocolate for the road which was divine!
Would strongly recommend for anyone looking for vegan eats in the area.
Stumbled across this lovely little place in Dymchurch. As a family of vegetarians and one vegan we super happy to find this place. We had the vegetable tagine which was full of flavour.
Would visit again & recommend 5*
Lovely little place, food was delicious and service was great.
Went too the tearoom for Sunday lunch, my daughter and her partner are vegans though I am not, the service we received was of the highest quality. The owner brought us samples of food so we could taste and choose what we wanted. The food was excellent and was home made by the owner. If you are a vegan and holidaying near to Dymchurch Kent I would recommend the tearoom.
We had a wonderful lunch here, the food was fresh, beautifully presented and very tasty. The owners were friendly and very accommodating to our large group (including a wriggly toddler!) I would highly recommend a lunch here, we will definitely be returning if we are ever in the area!
Gorgeous food and fantastic service. A healthy oasis in a sea of junk food.
We just popped into The Mortar and Pestle for some lunch. The food is delicious and such a lovely atmosphere. The cashew cheese cake is to die for. Very recommended. We'll be back :)
My boyfriend and I came across this place at the end of a long cycling trip, looking for somewhere that we could take our bikes into. It was such a hugely enjoyable experience that we didn’t expect looking at the cafe from the outside. Firstly the outdoor space at the back is so lovely and serene on a sunny day, the food is such wholesome and great quality that is enjoyable regardless of whether you eat meat or not and the smoothie tasted exceptional and such a bargain given that it feeds about 3 people. But what really made the experience so great for us is the owner who runs the place solo. He was such an interesting person and came out and chatted to us for ages whilst being incredibly attentive. It was like being at someone’s home for dinner.
Deliciously wholesome, home-cooked vegan food and treats, made with love. We had the Buddha bowl, cacao smoothie, chocolate cashew ice cream, and peanut butter brownie - all highly recommended.
If I could give 6/5 stars I would! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Had an absolutely lovely lunch here on a busy Saturday afternoon. The food was fresh and delicious and we received such friendly and welcoming service. We even had desserts despite being so full because they looked so tempting and we were not disappointed. This place is fantastic, we will definitely be coming back next time we’re in the area.
My partner and I had just finished our day at the Port Lympne zoo and looked up vegan food nearby. Only a 10 minute drive away, and when we arrived we received a warm welcome. Lovely intimate feel to the place, food was very tasty, and the owner was lovely and generous. I personally recommend the Dal and the Victoria sponge cake with cashew butter and jam.
Honestly can't say enough good things about this place, and considering the business has only been running for about a year, it'll only keep improving! Shame I live all the way out in Basildon Essex where there are no luxuries like this gem, so appreciate it!
Wonderful café for delicious homemade hearty food; lovely friendly owner very welcoming. We had a delicious soup/stew, some wraps and the nut roast balls and all of the food was superb. Would highly recommend this place for some seriously tasty and healthy food 👍 will definitely be back!
Had a lovely vegan lunch here. The Buddha bowl was delicious, everything in it was packed with flavour. A really great, healthy meal at a very good price!
We were so happy to find a vegan cafe in a seaside town! It opened at midday so we waited and shared a Buddha bowl for 2 which was absolutely delicious, so tasty and fresh. Will definitely visit again when in the area. 👍
