Reviews Pizza Punks Durham

What an incredible place. We found this almost by accident but it was excellent. There are set pizzas or you can create your own with a choice of 52 toppings (yes you can choose them all if you want). Being a coeliac, gluten free food is always harder to find but Pizza Punks were great. Every member of staff was aware and knowledgable about allergies and cross contamination. It is cooked in the same oven as the ‘normal’ pizzas but is done so on a different tray. Staff were really friendly, chatty and made the experience even more enjoyable. We will definitely return here!

Had a wonderful evening at Pizza Punks tonight for date night! Abby and Emily were wonderful hosts and doing a fantastic job just the two of them considering they had several large bookings in. Pizza was excellent, love getting to make my own, looking forward to visiting again.

I don't generally like chain places as I usually think they don't really put the effort in. Normally not as good as a local independent restaurant. But this was a pleasant surprise. Service good, accommodation for the dog (we're sitting outside), lovely views on a warm day. Monday date deal £22 for any food and drink. I'd specifically recommend cubano pizza. Wouldn't have thought the mustard on a pizza would bring it together so well but it was lovely. Cooked well, great place. Will definitely go again. Probably on a Monday

Went with two young kids. It was about 3pm on a Friday so very quiet but the staff were spot on, food was good although the sea salt and rosemary garlic bread was a little too salty. Pizzas were perfect though. The place during the day is ideal for small people!

Awesome pizza, great deals and friendly staff. Plus the toilets are well kept, which to my mind is the real measure of a restaurant. Thoroughly recommend.

Pizzas were really tasty, and the customisable menu is great. Service was pretty slow even though the restaurant wasn’t busy, but if you’re not in a rush it makes a good place for dinner

I having frequented this establishment a few times I can honestly say they consistently knock out top class pizzas! Sour dough bases are a delight! Range of toppings is almost too much to choose from! Quality of the ingredients is also noted. Service is always great and staff are friendly. Great location right on the durham Riverside.

Really good, I would say the closest thing to MOD pizza since that closed down that I have found. The quality of food didn't quite match the prices being charged but service was excellent and the food was good despite the price.

Great fun pizza place with great staff and awesome location. Shout out to Abby and Emily who made us feel really welcome. Top notch service! Would say toppings are slightly stingier than the Newcastle location. Interior isn't quite as fun and 'punk' either, but then the riverside seating is a big draw.

We came on a week night for restaurant week to try the place. Very impressed. Staff were attentive, accomodating and polite making the experience pleasant all round. We have half price pizza (£6, full price £12) build your own 12" pizza. So value for money wasn't an issue. However, we both agreed having eaten a meat and vegan pizza, that we would happily pay full price another day. Large pizza with your choice of sauce and toppings (unlimited), and the quality was definitely there. Will be visiting again.

Nice place, some quite unusual pizza choices which were delicious. Only loses a star for not having many veggie options on the part of the menu with the normal pizzas, you could make your own pizza with veggie toppings so this is a minor gripe, but the section of the menu with all the fun and unusual pizzas was quite meat heavy (which isn't that punk is it?)

Tasha and the rest of the staff were absolutely outstanding, I arrived with 3 kids who desperately needed entertaining and the staff really liked after them, this was my girls first visit to a Pizza punks and it really was first class, nice clean and pretty cool venue, good was delicious but the thing that really made the experience was the staff! Well done all, we'll definitely be back!!

Love Pizza punks. First went to the one in Newcastle and really enjoyed it. When I saw one in Durham I had to try it. It did not disappoint, very innovative pizzas at a reasonable price. Had a hell yeah pizza! They set light to it in front of me. Fantastic.

A slightly mixed review. Mostly positive but also some negative. Upon arriving we were greeted almost instantly and seated promptly as we had a booking reservation. We had literally just sat down and within 5 seconds were asked what we'd like to drink. We hadn't even had time to browse the drinks, or even pick the drinks menu up. Once we had time to browse the cocktails etc, we were waiting around 7/8 minutes before somebody came and took our drinks order, by that time we had already chosen our meals and placed our meal order at the same time as the drinks. The meals took around 30 minutes to arrive and I had noticed that people who were seated before us, must have been waiting around about the same amount of time for their order to arrive. The cocktails were delicious and worth the money that we had paid for them. If you're wanting a quick bite to eat before visiting the Odeon next door then this place probably isn't the best choice for that. After eating we waited around another 7/8 minutes before paying our bill. We were sat down at around 4:50 and left around 6:00pm before our movie started at 6:15. So you can imagine if it's a larger table than two, you're probably in for an increased wait time. The pizzas themselves were absolutely fantastic. Very delicious, not salty at all and full of flavour. I did notice that on the standard pizza menu you get fresh basil on the pepperoni pizza, but basil is not available on the CYO menu. I did ask if I could have basil on top of my CYO pizza but they either forgot it, or didn't do it as it didn't arrive with any basil on top. Not a huge disappointment but it would have been nice to have it on. Mostly positive things but only a few minor things that let it down. But, only slightly. I'll definitely be returning or having an order delivered home as it has not put me off!

Best pizza ever! Gutted there isn't one in Manchester but I would 100% go back! Ryan made us an amazing cocktail and Abby is a lovely waitress even when I asked stupid questions, I hope I've remembered their names right :) even though there was a big party there we didn't wait long for our food. I was sad when I ran out of pizza. We went on a Tuesday night so naturally it was quieter but the actual place is really comfortable and clean. Really enjoyed it there and will visit again if I'm ever in Durham again. Thank you :)
