Yamazushi - Durham - Photo album

Very high ratings for communication, customer service, and quality. From the second you enter the restaurant you feel as though you are halfway around the world. You get lost in the food/decor. Every dish served was visually appealing, fresh, and tasty. This is a once in a lifetime experience and w
Hard to give this anything other than 5 stars, intimate setting, chef is this older japanese gentleman and server is his wife. Waitlist is months long and the price is not cheap. Best thing to do is let go and allow the chef take you on an adventure. From his handmade plates and silverware, to the
Our experience was beautiful and artfully guided. Chef Yamazushi's eight course menu was skillfully designed, beautifully prepared and delicious. *Also as a bonus, the assorted pottery made by chef was a treat. Yamazushi lives up to its reputation as the most authentic Japanese cuisine in the Trian
Fantastic service in a small, cozy setting. Food is stellar, if a bit expensive. The 2 hour long experience is one I will remember. Reservations are required, and you might have to wait months, but I’d say it was worth it. From the pottery, to the ambiance, and food - a unique experience.
Had a fantastic birthday dinner here with my wife. I felt like I was back in Tokyo. Food and sake were top notch and service was perfect. I even received a gift bottle when I left. I wish I would say I will be back but it is hard to get a seat there. Highly recommend.
Just wonderful. I’ve been to several kaiseki restaurants in NYC and Tokyo and this one compares favorably. The wagashi was maybe the best I’ve tasted. Go for the sake pairing, it’s worth it. Service is impeccable. Wonderful NC treasure.
It was an awesome experience eating at yamazushi. The decor, the atmosphere is very calming and soothing. All the sashimi is really good and melts in your mouth, but tempura could have been better considering the price point.
One of the most interesting and unique dining experiences we've ever had. One of the most expensive as well, but considering they only seat 2 tables a night, it's not unreasonable. We loved that the chef made all of the dishware we ate off of. And his wife provided incredible service. Not something
Once in a lifetime experience. I'll never forget my evening here. I'm already shouting at other friends to go here and have this experience. The food is great, but the environment is the star of the show.
What an experience! They are so nice and put so much thought into the process. The chef made all the plates (and I suspect lots of the decor too). You get to have a variety of Japanese food. The flavors are so delicate. Def worth the wait and is a gem!
