Picturesque in winter snow, nice to spend some time during open times. Mine of knowledge of mining!

A wonderful day was spent here. It was quiet and we had our own guide. We saw the red squirrels too.

Great day out! Fantastic location, interesting exhibition and great to don wellies and hard hats to go inside the mine. Our guide was informative and interesting. The place is well worth a visit.

Very worth a visit. You can see the whole process from mining the ore through separation to transport for smelting. The mine visit is not to be missed, as are the cakes in the cafe!

This was my husbands choice of day out, and while at first I wasn’t that keen on the idea i’m glad I agreed, really enjoyed it and the tour underground was great( make sure you bring wellies) although you can use theirs if you don’t. Once you go into the lead mine it is ankle deep in water and very cold so bring warm clothes, The guide Carole gave a very good tour and was very informative and answered any questions, there is things to look round on the surface, but the weather was not the best so didn’t really have time to enjoy this, there is a nice little tea room where the cake was lovely, all in all a very enjoyable day out
