Ate here on Friday night and couldn't find a single fault. Greeted by a warm welcome into the cosy surroundings - Its quite a small area but by no means claustophobic and has a really nice atmosphere and we were seated straight away. Waiting staff were attentive but not intrusive and the food was just amazing. Highly recommend the Tirasmisu. Will certainly be back next time I'm in Durham as the value for money was great too - easily the best Italian meal I've ever had and my girlfriend agreed also. Can't say enough good things about the place.

Had a fabulous meal there last night ! Food was beautifully cooked, staff were attentive without being intrusive and there is a wide choice of both food and wine. We enjoyed it so much we've booked for New Years Eve and can't wait. Definitely worth 5 stars.

Great food, and staff work really hard to please, place too small tho, need to move to bigger premises, getting to toilets via stairs - a bit unsafe Having said all that, I would still recommend Bistro Italiano

My Wife & I have just had THE most wonderful meal at this lovely, charismatic, traditional and delightful Italian restaurant. The service was proper, speedy and very professional. The menu was extensive and we both chose a ribeye steak which was delicious and cooked as requested, as were the sources we chose. We had three courses, all of which were fabulous and as we only live 300 yards away, we have so missed out not trying this place in the past two years since it opened. But we shall be back - Mrs Q wants to try the Sunday dinner!!! We done - well worth 5*!

Fourth time we've eaten here and it was really good again. The previous visit I had a lobster dish from the specials board and it wasn't on this time.I mentioned to the waiter how much I'd enjoyed it previously and he said the chef can do whatever you want ..so I had lobster again with king prawns and scallops...delicious! I think £7.95 for a glass of prosecco is on the pricey side I'll have to get the bottle next time instead.

One of our favourite haunts in Durham. The food is excellent, especially the seafood. The menu covers everything you would expect from a good Italian restaurant and the specials board never disappoints. The service is faultless with a very hard working team delivering satisfaction and creating a buzzing atmosphere that has made every visit a real pleasure for us.

Easily the best food and service in Durham, I eat here regularly and have never had a meal I didn't like! I wouldn't eat anywhere else in Durham. The staff are fantastic and always make me and my sons feel like I'm part of their family, warm and cosy surroundings and always a relaxed atmosphere. Bellissimo

Excellent dinner here. Our server was welcoming and helpful for providing wine recommendations. Had the seafood risotto which was fantastic. Even brought out lemon water to rinse away the fish from my fingers. The tiramisu was delicious. Never rushed to leave.

Went in as 6 without reservation, the waitress quickly figured out to rotate a few tables allowing her to let us all fit, which is the first time I've seen something that smart in a restaurant in the UK. The food was quite good, not the biggest portions, but the prices were very reasonable.

A great Italian restaurant. The food was delicious - I had the sea food risotto. The carbonara was also very nice. Great garlic bread. Lively atmosphere but fine for grown up family meals or friends.

Fantastic food in a great atmosphere. A wide Italian menu, with a full range of pizza, pasta and main courses of chicken, steak or fish. Amazing desserts if you have any space left! Recommended!

The food was amazing! They have really good service and everything was delicious! We ordered two starters, one of them had haggis and the other one cheese, both incredible tasty. For the main we choose chicken. Even with dessert and two drinks we spend around £50 which is reasonable price. I fully recommend this place!

After two unmemorable experiences, for our last night in Durham we thought that we would try somewhere further from the main tourist area and we were so glad we did. The food was superb (including the best tartufo I have ever had} , the wine excellent, the service cheerful and the prices reasonable. Hats off to the lovely family who run it.

It has a really good aubergine hot starter, their pizza is good, chicken and pasta were average. The place smells smoke most of my time there!

Amazing Italian food - authentic and truly delicious. Portions were quite generous too. Ordered the Spaghetti Vongole from the specials menu - was not disappointed! Would definitely be returning again for more good food. The authentic Italian desserts that they have on offer were amazing too - ask to see the dessert menu!

7 friends from work all had a brilliant time on 30 June 2023. Pre ordered and starters came just as we sat down. By far my favourite restaurant in Durham. Food and service First Class. Our waiter was particularly attentive.

The starters were delicious. The mushroom starter was less creamy than I'd expected, but that was good, because it was light like a starter should be. The scallops with chorizo were delicious too! The mains were delicious too. The ribye steak with chips was very nice, cooked medium-well, big portion, it was great with stilton sauce. The salmon was delicious too, cooked very well! It came with rice or chips, I chose rice. For dessert we had tiramisu and lemon pie ("Nonna"), delicious! Especially the lemon pie, it felt homemade! Would have preferred more relaxing music to go along with the relaxing ambience of the restaurant, but was cost-effective for great quality food, definitely worth visiting. Would recommend
