Nice little cafe! After going up a flight of stairs you're likely to be greeted with a smile.
Staff were lovely, food was nice and the quantity was fair for the price paid.
They have plenty of vegetarian and vegan options too. I've attached photos of the menu.
There is paid parking a few minutes away from the cafe
Good selection of food for breakfast and lunch. Had the ham quiche and scone with tea. Tasty meal, red onions a bit much.
Fab full English breakfast. Wonderful service and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend for good quality, hearty breakfast!
Called here Saturday morning for a bite to eat based on the Google reviews, Google navigation actually took us to the rear of the building where there wasn't any access. Access is actually from the front street up a flight of stairs, no disabled access.
Dog friendly.
The young lady who served us was friendly, polite and most efficient, even delivering a bowl of water for our dog.
The coffee / cappuccino was very good indeed.
The breakfast 3 egg cheese omelette was substantial and accompanied with sausage, tomato, beans, hash brown and a slice of bacon, the bacon was not to my taste, it tasted off, everything else was quality and worth the money.
Up alot of steps so not accessible to anyone who has issues with steps, wheelchair use. I am on crutches and ok with steps. A hand rail was there to use so that was helpful.
The food was spectacular and I couldn't recommend it more as well as the hot chai latte. Staff were incredibly kind too.
Just enjoyed a beautiful lunch here. The dining area has a beautiful homey feeling. The staff were friendly and helpful and even bought out a few extra marshmallows for our girls. The food and drinks came out quickly and the portions were generous. The chips have been the best we have had whilst being in the UK. They were beautiful and crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside and nice and thick as chips should be. The steak ale pie was a large serving and had a beautiful gravy and the meat so soft and tender it almost melted in your mouth. The coffee was delicious and again one of the best I have had in the UK. I thoroughly recommend this place for both great food and value for money.
Popped in with my other half for a bite to eat while shopping in the city centre.
We were greeted immediately with a warm welcome & asked to take a seat anywhere we liked (the cafe was about one third full at around one thirty).
The customer service was excellent & the food was done to a good standard.
The prices were average for Durham city centre but the food was delicious.
We'll definitely be back, well done....
The iced coffee was very warm so we had to swap it. It’s also very warm in the cafe too. The food was lovely and inexpensive.
We had such a lovely vegetarian breakfast with fantastic espresso as well, a delightful way to start your day in Durham
Came here for breakfast on Wednesday, booked early as saw from other reviews and word of mouth this place is great. Stottie was lovely and really good bacon. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere
This is a gem of a place. Best avocado toast I have ever had.
Will definitely come back next time I visit my sister.
Excellent friendly service.
Breakfasts are beautiful. Perfect poached eggs, made just the way i asked for. Looking forward to returning to try something else on the menu. Staff very friendly.
Amazing food and very friendly staff. I really enjoyed my time here, everything was super yum, will be back for sure!
Absolutely loved it here had breakfast then called back at t.time for tea and cake . Lovely friendly staff . Great decor in the cafe . Food delicious and really good prices. We'll worth a visit
Great place for high tea. Quality sandwiches, scones, pastries and tea. They also have delivery which is great! Only reason why I'm only giving 4 stars is that they forgot to include one of our teas, but things happen and it was still a fantastic meal. :)
Set up lots of stairs on Silver St this lovely little café is popular. I remember when you queued at counter but now it's table service from pleasant young staff. I had avocado on sourdough with poached egg and grilled halloumi which was really tasty and Daz had tuna melt panini. If you like strong tea then have it here cos our small teapots had 2 teabags each! Mine were quickly out on the saucer! Shared a gorgeous sticky lemon cake too which brought bill to £24. Toilets up more stairs Seats about 30 at a push.
A great place with delicious food, good prices and atmosphere. Would recommend! I had poached egg on sourdough with halumi and avocardo
