Helpful and friendly receptionist on arrival. Lovely decor and very quirky surroundings in the hotel. Dunster itself is very picturesque with some lovely shops, short 5 min drive to the beach. Food was very tasty. The cinnamon sponge pudding was delicious best dish so far. Showers are great and bat
We stayed for 4 nights in August. We had a double room on the top floor looking out on Dunster High Street.
This is a hotel with significant history and this is reflected in the architecture, layout and facilities. In fact this is used to great advantage to create an interesting, cosy, inviting and
What an awesome place for lunch while visiting Dunster. We kept an eye out for somewhere for lunch but initially overlooked this place due to where we parked. The restaurant is large with lots of nooks to sit in. We initially sat at an indoor table and noticed the sign for the “secret garden” it was
I only wish there were more places like this near me! What a lovely pub!
The inside is very old and traditional and looks very welcoming and cosy.
We sat outside in the secret garden with what must be the best views of Dunster Castle. The garden has a very chilled vibe and there's a little bar outsi
Went for a couple of drinks with wifey.
Lovely atmosphere, beautiful olde worlde charm but the prices for the drinks. OMG.
a large glass of pinot grigio £10. A whole bottle £28!!! I reckon its 150% mark up at least.
In lidl Minehead just down the road the same wine starts from £5 up to £7 a bottle.
Absolutely excellent hotel. staff so friendly and helpful can not fault it can't wait for our next trip oh and the food is fantastic made my birthday weekend even more enjoyable
I can only recommend the afternoon tea in the garden at the back of the hotel.
On a good day it's a lovely spot views of Dunster castle. Lovely tea and cakes.
Unfortunately I've heard many bad reviews about the food in the restaurant .
Amazing hotel, the bar area is really cosy and the beer garden is fantastic. Not a huge selection of drinks but still plenty to choose from and the prices are decent. The building is beautiful, well looked after and interesting. The food was absolutely top notch and the portions were big. We had roo
Staff are lovely! Lady on reception was so sweet, and we haven’t met Kelly yet but already love her from speaking to her on the phone!
The room so special and super cossy we even got a little upgrade considering it was my partners birthday! The location is right up our street too!
Guys thankyou! ❤
A lovely oldy worldly type of hotel dating back hundreds of years. Nice rooms. We had a small double and it was lovely. Good bed with a nice firm mattress.
Breakfast and dinner were excellent. The breakfast came with two eggs, which I like broken over buttered toast.
All staff were excellent without
We enjoyed lunch in their 'secret garden', which is a very pleasant spot on a sunny day. Service, food and price were all good. No complaints and we'd be happy to recommend.
Lovely medieval style bar and restaurant located on Dunster high street. It has an excellent rooftop beer garden and also offers food options. Beer on the pricey side however good value when you factor in the location. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful pint in a beautiful garden.
Consistently good food and service for the week we stayed in Dunster. The building and interior are beautifully kept and make this a great experience. Thank you to the staff for giving great a service, do ask for a gratuity, I think tips would be higher.
Popped in unplanned for a beer while passing through Dunster on a hike. The building and atmosphere are incredible, and the ale was decent (and reasonably priced) too. Will make a point of going back.
Booking at the last minute on a Bank Holiday weekend meant that choices were limited. We absolutely lucked out by booking here. Beautiful location with the sunshine enhancing the aesthetic. Very friendly team working here & food was good.
